Share your hobbies / creations !I knit and crochet as well. You seem to be doing quite well for just a year in. Keep up the good work! Also, I love the idea of crocheting the toys from your kids' drawings. Very clever and definitely unique. | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/10/15 06:15 AM
Agree or disagree? "Being a stay-at-home mom is not a job."I don't class it as a job. It is a lot of work and it is time-consuming, like a job, but it is not technically a job. I see it more as your contribution to your family and I believe that that is more important than being able to say you have a 'job'. I'm not sure if it is a common feeling, but I also kind of feel that sometimes it disrespects those who do have to leave the home and go into less savoury environments for their work like the men and women who have to go to work in factories or work… | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/10/15 06:04 AM
Mainstream feminism is the Munchhausen by proxy of ideologies.I see this a lot. I know several women who use their 'big' problems to gain attention. It bothers me quite a bit, but all I can do is laugh at it later on. The good thing about seeing it all the time though is that it helps to remind me of what not to do. In my opinion it trivializes the struggles of the women in your last paragraph- the ones who have actually gone through serious issues. Sure, we've all gone through life with some childhood issues, or one thing or another, but like you said see… | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/07/15 08:57 AM
Advice needed on how to stop naggingI literally had this exact same problem a while ago, before I started lurking here. I do all of the cleaning and sometimes my SO would leave a bit of rubbish lying around or throw his dirty clothes next to the laundry basket instead of putting them into the basket. It used to drive me mad! And so I would nag him, you know the drill. I would think, 'You know, it really is not that hard to put your clothes into the basket.' Now I think, 'You know, it really is not that hard for me to put them in t… | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/07/15 08:33 AM
Share Your Cleaning Tips, Tricks, Schedules, & Techniques!I, like you, have a small space that seems to take forever to dust, so I've broken down my dusting into pieces so that it doesn't feel overwhelming. One day I will do certain shelves, another day is different shelves, or pictures, baseboards, etc. Each 'chunk' has a different day so it seems like less. Like others have mentioned, I also do a lot of 'tidying'. I am constantly picking one thing or another up and putting it in it's rightful place. I clean bits a pieces throughout the week and then … | /r/RedPillWomen | 22/06/15 09:28 AM
Laura Doyle's new book drawing winners...Congratulations! :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/06/15 11:30 PM
I'm Laura Doyle, author of The Surrendered Wife. AMAI'm not sure if I can help, but I do have a little bit of experience being an introvert living in a new place. Do you have any hobbies or activities that you're interested in? I know you've mentioned being in classes, so you might not have loads of free time, but if you have some free time maybe you could find a group tp join. I moved a while ago and the only person I knew was my SO. One day I saw a sign for a knitting club and I decided to check it out as I enjoy knitting and crocheting. It doe… | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:26 PM
I'm Laura Doyle, author of The Surrendered Wife. AMAI completely get that, and I do trust him. He is an adult after all. I've just got to accept that I've done my part and leave the rest to him. I think I'll practice tomorrow morning. :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:17 PM
I'm Laura Doyle, author of The Surrendered Wife. AMAI think busying myself is a great idea. Get the items ready for him and then start getting my own day started by setting out my workout clothes or even just making myself relax and knit or read just so I'm focused on something else. The rest is up to him then. | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:14 PM
I'm Laura Doyle, author of The Surrendered Wife. AMAThanks for your example. It's exactly what I'm trying to adjust. There are some mornings where he'll skip breakfast or won't take the lunch and then I go into this unneeded panic-type of feeling, as if he'll manage to starve to death while he's gone. I need to work on getting to your level where I can brush it off and realize that he will in fact be fine. | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 07:51 PM
I'm Laura Doyle, author of The Surrendered Wife. AMAI feel as though this might be one of my problems- I want to help, help, help. In my mind I'm being useful and trying to make sure he's got everything he needs for work, has eaten breakfast and has a prepared lunch, etc. Some mornings though, I realize I'm sort of 'managing' his morning and rather than being a helpful partner, I feel like a bit of a nag, which is definitely not how I want to send him off. I do have plenty to do in my own life, so I suppose I need to learn to better focus on my o… | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 07:22 PM
Regular Recipe Thread?Yesterday I was wearing so many layers because I was freezing. It's supposed to be Summer, but not so much where I am at the moment. I do love salads year round though. :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:20 AM
Regular Recipe Thread?I would definitely be interested in this. It might help with some experimenting. | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:18 AM
| – | Laura M Doyle, of Surrendered Wife and Surrendered Single, is doing an AMA on RPW June 3rd, and we're giving away her new book: "First, Kill All the Marriage Counselors: Modern Day Secrets to Being Desired, Cherished and Adored for Life?"I haven't been around for a few days and forgot that this was happening so soon. Thank you for reminding me. I'm looking forward to this AMA. | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:13 AM |
Cooking: Practice and educate yourself; reap the personal and social rewardsThanks! I'll definitely check it out. | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/06/15 08:08 AM
Cooking: Practice and educate yourself; reap the personal and social rewardsI love cooking. It makes me happy, both the act of it and the fact that it makes my SO happy. I'm currently on the look-out for some more healthy meal options as we are both trying to be healthier. I may actually look up some recipes now while I'm thinking of it. Also, I completely agree on the whole bringing treats to gatherings thing. I love bringing muffins or cookies or anything else to events, even if it's just a normal day with no special occasion. They always get a good response. I also s… | /r/RedPillWomen | 01/06/15 08:17 AM
Feminists want us to define these ugly sexual encounters as rape. Don’t let them. [Article]I had almost this exact same situation when I was younger. Just like you, I was fine when I had it in my own head. I made a mistake, but I learned from it. Then I let other people into my head and that's when the confusion began. I would do my best to push it out of my mind, but every once in a while, it would pop back into my head and I would think on it and try to decide what exactly it was. Fortunately, after some years passed and I learned more and managed to get rid of some of the brainwash… | /r/RedPillWomen | 31/05/15 06:44 AM
Week of 5/25: Weekly Goal Thread!I used to do meal prep for the week's breakfasts and lunches and I would bulk make dinners when SO and I were doing keto. I loved it. Unfortunately, keto became a bit to expensive, or at least more than we could maintain, so we're not doing that anymore. :( Like you mentioned, I do want to incorporate a treat during the day so I don't feel like I'm 'missing out'. I'll definitely look into the flexible dieting idea. Thanks for the tip! | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/05/15 08:05 PM
Week of 5/25: Weekly Goal Thread!I didn't do as well last week as I intended to, but I'm hoping to improve this week, although I do have an extra hurdle of not being well. I only worked out 3 days instead of the planned 5 and I didn't stick to my diet super well a few of the days. I did finish the scarf and hat and I am almost done with the cardigan. I also was able to have a chat with my sister, so that's partial success on my last goal. Work out 5 days this week. I am currently sick, so I won't push myself to the point of hur… | /r/RedPillWomen | 27/05/15 07:44 AM
Week of 5/17: Weekly Goal Thread!I'm not sure if this is the same idea you are referring to, but this morning when doing my own makeup I decided to try out a pink and brown eye combo. I used a very light pink in the inner corner, a slightly darker pink in the center and a medium brown on the outer third. Then I blended them in and added a dark brown mascara. I also added the brown shadow to the outer third of my undereye as an eyeliner. It's still keeping with the idea of a brown smokey, but much softer and more natural. | /r/RedPillWomen | 21/05/15 08:39 AM
Week of 5/17: Weekly Goal Thread!I'm trying to mostly avoid things like crisps and fast food. Just hearing the mention of a burger makes me want to order out. I think once I've gotten my body used to eating at the calorie level that is my target, then it won't be such a difficulty. I just still feel hungry a lot during the day. | /r/RedPillWomen | 21/05/15 07:29 AM
What's your opinion of your friends' and peers' relationships? This is pretty much what I do. I see certain behaviours in the relationships of people I know and I just tell myself 'Okay, don't be like that.' Though it is really sad to see, I am too busy trying to improve myself to properly worry about someone else's relationship. | /r/RedPillWomen | 19/05/15 10:26 AM
Week of 5/17: Weekly Goal Thread! Thanks for posting this. I had actually forgotten about it until I saw it here. Work out at least 5 days this week, preferably more. Stick to my diet more strictly. Don't give in to too much temptation. Finish knitting my current hat and scarf set and begin working on a cardigan. Talk to my sister and brother and keep contact instead of leaving it for weeks at a time. And to start, I'm going to work out right now. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/15 09:34 AM
Week of 5/17: Weekly Goal Thread!Yes! I always try to give people this tip if they complain to me about doing housework. It makes your life so much easier in the long run if you just tidy up a little bit every day. Something as simple as picking up any loose papers or wiping down the counter-top or whatever. I don't know about everyone else, but I also feel much more content when I have a clean space. It makes other things more enjoyable because you have one less thing to worry about. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/15 09:26 AM
Submissive Wives' Guide To Marriage On TLCThis looks like it could be very interesting. I might have to keep my eye out for it. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/15 09:20 AM
Stop Swearing, Complaining or GossipingOh wow, I really like this idea. I feel like point number 2 would be most important for me. I would forget what had me so worked up to begin with and realize that it really wasn't anything important anyway, so what is the point in getting worked up? Thanks for sharing this! | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/15 09:05 AM
Five thingsAs someone who still has a bit of difficulty holding my tongue, do you have any advice? I've definitely improved in recent months, but I can still sometimes snap a little and I hate it. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/15 08:57 AM
Birthdays: How do you make your SO feel special?I love making books of coupons as well. It's a fun creative little gift, and like you said they last a bit longer than the birthday itself. | /r/RedPillWomen | 17/05/15 10:04 AM
Birthdays: How do you make your SO feel special?I am the same for the weekly cooking. I cook every meal and cook his favourite meals quite frequently, so simply making his favourite isn't exactly mind-blowingly special, but it still makes him happy. To try to make it a bit more mind-blowing, I might try to add to it, or rely on the dessert to make it extra nice. Or simply make something taht he's always wanted to try or that takes just a bit more effort than usual. That's also why I focus a lot of my energy on the cake. I bake a lot normally.… | /r/RedPillWomen | 17/05/15 10:03 AM
Birthdays: How do you make your SO feel special?I like to make things for my SO. Make his favourite breakfast, lunch and dinner, make a nice gift and make a special cake. Sometimes the cake and gift are connected to make it extra special. He also always gets an extra special 'Birthday BJ'. He knows that the gift is special because it is handmade and usually takes a long time to complete. And he knows the cake is special because it is linked to his interests. Unfortunately, for his upcoming birthday we might be working in a LDR, so I will have… | /r/RedPillWomen | 17/05/15 09:37 AM
Laura M Doyle, of Surrendered Wife and Surrendered Single, of NY best seller fame, is doing an AMA on RPW June 3rd!Thank you! I really want to read this book soon, especially after reading some of that first chapter. | /r/RedPillWomen | 13/05/15 04:37 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsSo, after a bit more research, I've found that where I live you actually need a prescription for it. It's not 100% sure why the change was made, but the general assumption is that it's because of the possible interactions with other medications. I'll probably end up seeing a doctor eventually, so I'll make sure to bring this as an option and see what they say. | /r/RedPillWomen | 07/05/15 10:54 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for the extra info. I'll definitely do my research before doing anything. In regards to your question, I'm actually not currentlly on a hormonal contraceptive. I've tried a few and they caused some pretty big emotional changes in me. And then another caused severe migraines. I get migraines anyway, but this blew them off the charts. Needless to say, I am still looking for a good method of birth control that doesn't affect my brain so much. | /r/RedPillWomen | 06/05/15 06:28 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for the recommendation. I'll look into it. Is it something that you need a prescription for or can you find it as an over-the-counter option? | /r/RedPillWomen | 05/05/15 09:37 AM
Hopefully I'm preaching to the converted but this popped up on my FB and thought I'd pass it onI completely agree. No matter how I am feeling, nothing can convince me to badmouth my SO to anyone. I think the way that you put it is perfect as well. | /r/RedPillWomen | 01/05/15 08:14 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for the recommendation! I'll save it and give it a look later on. I really do want to learn proper technique as I think meditation could really improve my mental state. I've read some of the basics and all, but nothing super helpful, so this video will probably be a great help. | /r/RedPillWomen | 30/04/15 08:20 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThat definitely makes sense to me because I feel like I am the same way, in that if he is not doing something that he needs to do to take care of himself, I tend to get a little frustrated. I'm not mad at him, I care about his well-being. I also know that I am very sensitive and do take things very personally. I am trying to catch myself and making sure that I don't react in a 'wounded animal' type of way (the key word is trying). Hopefully I can get to the point where I'm not taking it personal… | /r/RedPillWomen | 30/04/15 08:17 AM
What are ways you show your love for him?I know that he appreciates my texts, especially if his day isn't going too smoothly. You'd be surprised how much it can mean to someone just knowing that they're in your thoughts. | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/04/15 05:03 PM
What are ways you show your love for him?My SO is similar. We do say 'I love you' on occassion, but he doesn't feel that the word 'love' has as much meaning as it once did. Instead we like to make sure that the other knows that we are thinking of them throughout the day. As long as it's not disruptive, I might send him a text or two throughout the day to see how his day is going. Or if one of us is out and we see something that we know the other would appreciate, we pick it up if we can afford it. Then of course there are little things… | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/04/15 03:12 PM
Learning to enjoy giving head?As some other people have mentioned, using your hand just under your mouth can help make it seem like you're going deeper than you are, so that can be helpful for your jaw. Also, try to incorporate other things to make it more pleasurable if it seems to be taking too long. Depending on the position, sometimes my arms or legs or whatever may get tired and it feels like you've been bobbing up and down for a decade. There a couple of things that I might do to entertain myself during the process as … | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/04/15 02:57 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks, I'll definitely have to have a chat with her and see how she is with her prescription and how it's affecting her. | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/04/15 06:20 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for sharing your experience. I'm not really a religious person, so maybe learning proper meditation could be my version of getting closer to God. I would love to get to the point where I'm able to have intellectual discussions with my SO and to be more rational. I hope that by absorbing the stories and implementing some of the advice here I can take a few steps toward that goal. | /r/RedPillWomen | 28/04/15 06:18 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsI also had a rough period when I was younger when I needed to see a counselor and he did help a lot. During that period of time though, it was a matter of coming of of a medication instead of being put on a new one. I had recently started a birth control pill (I can't remember the name), but it had started having crazy effects on my moods. It was like I was having mood swings all of the time. Going from super happy to crying for seemingly no reason at all. After talking through some issues, we d… | /r/RedPillWomen | 26/04/15 09:22 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThank you for the recommendation. I'll keep it in mind. I'm not sure which medication my sister is using, but I may talk to her a bit about it as well. | /r/RedPillWomen | 26/04/15 09:18 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThat's one reason that I love this sub. The stories may not be 100% relateable, but there is always something you can take away from them. I completely understand what you mean about repeating the same methods over and over and unfortunately that is exactly how I've been. That's why the idea of a filter appeals to me so much. It's not just something that is wanted; I think it is something that is needed. I need some real change in my behaviour to prove to my SO that I am making a difference in m… | /r/RedPillWomen | 25/04/15 10:26 PM
Sleeping in different beds.I believe that I read a study once about how sleeping in separate beds can actually help relationships and that some couples that sleep separately can actually be happier. It definitely does have its benefits in that you're more likely to get a full night's rest without another person moving around next to you. As others have recommended, you can always spend some time together cuddling or anything else you like before bed and then move to your own spaces when you're tired enough to actually sle… | /r/RedPillWomen | 25/04/15 04:18 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for sharing your experience. I think that may be what is putting me off of going straight to the medication route- the fact that I'm afraid that while it may help balance my moods, it might also affect other areas of my life, such as sex drive. We will see how we go during the next few weeks to see if I improve at all and I'll go from there. | /r/RedPillWomen | 25/04/15 04:05 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for your input. I think I want to try a few regular counselling sessions before going the medication route. I know that it is an option, but if I can work things out before then I think I'd be more comfortable. If it turns out that I absolutely cannot handle my emotions, or I do legitimately suffer with depression, then I might go that route. My sister is on anti-depressant medication and I know that it does help her. | /r/RedPillWomen | 25/04/15 10:20 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThank you so much for that in-depth response. I love that explanation about PMS. It actually made me laugh (so good job comedian). In addition to acknowledging the hormonal reason, I may try to find some relaxing activities for that week. Maybe draw or read to try to clear my mind or something. As you mentioned, for the non-hormonal moments, I believe developing a proper filter is something I will really need to work on, a lot. I currently react immediately, which is obviously not helpful. Almos… | /r/RedPillWomen | 25/04/15 10:14 AM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsNo, you're right. It shouldn't be about deciding if X, Y and Z are all lined up perfectly. It should be if either of us is in the mood, then it should be done. Thanks for your input! | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 09:43 PM
Dread Game and BoundariesFor me, it is more a matter of if I trust the girl than if I trust my SO, since I completely trust him. For example, a young woman had started working in the same location as my partner a few years ago. They were around the same age, so he decided to talk to her a bit since she seemed kind of shy and didn't really hang out with anyone at the job. Eventually he found out that she was in our part of town all by herself, so she could use a friend or two. They took their lunch breaks at the same tim… | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 07:48 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsHello! Thank you for your reply. I do know that some of it is caused by my cycle, but I'm also fairly certain that some of it isn't. I know that from the time I was younger up until to now, the way that my cycle has affected me has changed drastically. I never used to have any problems, no cramps or anything that is typically complained about, but as I got older I began to have cramps and become more emotional leading up to it. Like you mentioned, it is definitely more noticeable around 1-2 week… | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 07:32 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for the idea. I may have to come up with some ways of getting more privacy. :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 07:22 PM
Looking for Advice on Controlling my EmotionsThanks for the response. You are right, people should understand that we would be wanting to have sex. We usually try to put on some music or something for background noise since the walls are pretty much paper thin. I suppose like you said, as long as we aren't louder than a conversation, or in this case no louder than the music, then they might not actually hear us as much as I am imagining. | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 07:19 PM
Red pill music for early 20 year olds?I love this idea. It sounds adorably fun and makes me wish that I had a cute little apron. :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 01:08 PM
On Self-improvement/Raising SMVI'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who does some of these things in an effort to improve myself. Like you, drinking plenty of water helps to keep my skin nice, but on top of that, if I don't get enough water, I tend to get headaches. For me, it is at the stage that I absolutely must get enough water each day. On the matter of cursing, I have been trying to stop myself from cursing so much. I typically only do so when in more extreme situations, but I still don't like how it makes me appe… | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 12:58 PM
Red pill music for early 20 year olds?I feel the same when it comes to certain music. If it sounds good and it's fun to move to but the lyrics are just ridiculous, I tend to just ignore the words completely. Or I sing along and laugh at anything really silly. That said, some of the songs that I listen to have quite nonsensical lyrics and those are just fun for the sake of it. Really though, I think you should listen to anything you enjoy and if the artist is trying to put across a message that you don't agree with, just try to ignor… | /r/RedPillWomen | 24/04/15 08:19 AM
I have only ever slept with my SO...I must agree with most of the comments so far. You are not missing out on anything. I had been with a few sexual partners before meeting my SO and while at the time I believed that I was happy, now I sort of regret it. I may have spent time exploring my sexuality and trying new things, but now I wish I had done those things with my current partner. I think it would have meant more, both for myself and for him. I may be being naive, but part of me believes that our current sexual relationship wou… | /r/RedPillWomen | 22/04/15 08:02 PM
