There is a difference between being selfish and protecting interests of perspective parties. It goes both ways. As far as lawyer goes.. yes you will get raped but that's due to a broken marriage which you are partly responsible for. Takes two to tangle. So if you don't want to pay up then just never get married.

This topic is subjective and could be vary biased depending on perspective. How big can your retirement be to not wanting to give half ? If you had already been working before you tie the knot. She is only allow to touch the retirement from when you got married to the time of divorce. I see alot of comments but it's pretty one sided. If you swore a vow and got married wouldn't you want your other half to have something to leave with ? Afterall there was love and it was really about money until t…

Why wouldn't she lock the door. It's for self comfort and zoning. It's got nothing to do with you.

Getting a good laugh out of it. If anyone with a shred a feminism see this (male or female). They will definitely stay away from you. Including those lovable Asian bobas. You're too "gunhoe" LMAO!!! Good night thanks for making my day.

I can only say that you yourself was once that soft boy who was fond and enjoyed that Asian bean beverage. The only difference is - you learned your lesson and somehow you now think you are "solid man". everybody is different in their situation, so don't jump the gun and create the fantasy moral obligation model of what it means to be that solid man. I don't disagree but nor do I agree fully. To each his own.

When you say record do you mean record conversation with phone. Do you have to let her know you are recording? Some states would deem recording illegal unless you get their consent. Not sure if it's true but nevertheless always good to get the right information or know what our rights are.

We decided to communicate and seek marriage counseling to see if we can work things out. Especially on the financial side. I will mention or try to(at the right time) to discuss and get her to agreeing on signing a postnuptial agreement to protect my assets other than the community property which I am ok with half half. Hoping she can see light at the end of the tunnel in order to save the marriage. The reason why I am doing this is because I want her to stop stop spending so harshly. And focus …

Can I gradually gift specific amount of money to my elderly parents to support them in their retirement as well as gift money to my niece for her future college fund (in their name ofcourse) prior to divorce filing? Nothing has been filed so I don't see why it would be illegal.

I read that California is a no fault state so is there any chance for probable affair factor that may be in my favor ? Not sure if a judge know she did this right after getting her US citizenship will somehow annoy the judge enough to give me an edge.

Does material evidence such as an email she wrote me about not wanting my savings count in court. She also wrote she just want half of what she paid towards the house.

Got you. Appreciate it. I'll start documenting. I have years of paying mortgage and other stuff by my self without help from her and she expect half of the equity + appreciation and ofcourse she probably will get it as it's "community property". Hell her name isn't even on the loan because her credit is no good but ofcourse her name is on the deed. How convenient.

Life responsibilities as it is now is paid 50/50 (mortgage, utilities, groceries and etc). I am talking about all the other accounts I have that she is not aware of which she might try to take 50 if divorce happens. I'm sorry but I don't know how I am paid in full? I am at a disadvantage because she spends all her income and I save all of mine.

I am in similar situation. My wife makes half of what I make and spends every penny plus add to credit card debt (materialistic branding kinda person) I keep telling her to save but she doesn't. We do not have a joint account .. ever. And go half half on all the bills including mortgage. She doesn't know how much money I have (retirement, savings, stocks and mutual funds). I am scared one day she will try to take half of everything if she knows I have them and the amount. We don't have kids so a…
