She shouldn't have been trying to force her way in, and that guy should not have push kicked her. I looked it up, it's called false imprisonment, a 3rd degree felony. It brings with it a 5 year sentence in a state prison. Some states say you can only citizens arrest someone if it's a felony, some states say you can't at all. I'd rather just report it, and give all the information I can to the police than risk getting false imprisonment or assault charges. You also have to use reasonable force, which itself can be twisted against your favor. In the video we see, she doesn't once hit them, yet they are kicking and shoving her. It is a law that varies state to state. Some states don't allow it, some allow it only for felonies, some are different than that. Like all laws, it can be convoluted and you might be the one getting in trouble instead of her. You can ask them to stay or distract them but you cannot prevent them from leaving. *Edit: illegal to detain them without following the law. Laws vary based on where you are, and you may THINK you should be allowed to detain someone, and it turns out you weren't, it is a highly illegal offense.
