The patriarchy impacts everyone, my guy. It's what's created this narrative that "women are weak" and "men are supposed to be strong." That's what society has raised many people to believe, so when a man speaks about his experiences of being assaulted by women, it's the patriarchy that fuels this idea that "Oh, he should've been stronger" or "He's lucky" instead of acknowledging that this man did something very brave by coming forward with his experience and he has every right to express his hur…

So should I be cautious around random men or should I not? If I'm cautious, I'm "overreacting" but if I assume every man I encounter isn't violent, I end up getting punched in the face. There's no winning.

Well, I'd expect to not get punched in the face for telling someone I have a boyfriend, that's for sure.

If you're going to attempt to mock me, at least spell patriarchy correctly. 😂

I don't hate men. Never once have I said that I hate men. I'm happily engaged to the most wonderful man I know, he's my very best friend. I was raised by my father with little help from my mother and I thank him for every ounce of love and opportunity he's given me. The examples that I listed are not uncommon. Just because you haven't witnessed it does not mean that it doesn't exist. I, and many other women, have experienced physical violence as retaliation for rejecting men. I advise you to ask…

Calling women sluts for the way that they dress, dismissing their issues because you view them as "too emotional", and physically and verbally threatening women when they disagree with you and do not do as you wish is misogyny.

Accountable for what exactly?

I hope to be shown empathy because I show empathy towards others. Generalization is beneficial to no one.

What privilege do women have? Most people who say that women have privilege fail to notice that these "privileges" are a direct result of the patriarchy.

I won't deny that false accusations are detrimental to one's mental well-being. The conversation had been going solely off statistics so I had only been providing factual evidence. Never once have I denied that it was a misfortune. I'll absolutely check those out. I'm always willing to learn more about something and expand my views. I apologize if I came off as invalidating. I just wish people would understand that women being weary of random men is rational. Instead of bashing us and calling us…

I believe that men should absolutely carry guns to defend themselves. Everyone should. I was simply stating the data provided by the National Library of Medicine which is a government resource. I do not wish to invalidate you but in the rare case that someone is falsely accused, it hardly impacts their life, if not at all. Rape is a crime that is incredibly hard to prove and most cases without physical evidence such as a rape kit are dismissed. If the perpetrator is found guilty, only 6% of rapi…

There have only been 180 fatal bear attacks since 1784. That's 180 fatal attacks over the span of 200+ years. I'm a zoology student. My life revolves around studying animal behavior. The chances of being attacked by a bear are very slim. Sadly, I can't say the same about being attacked by a human. Humans are unpredictable. Both are capable of inflicting severe bodily harm but the likelihood of being killed by a bear is little to none when compared to the likelihood of being killed by a human.

Where did I say that most men are murderers? Most murders are committed by men, that's just a fact. You can combat my argument however you'd like but that doesn't change reality. Yes, women commit violent crimes, I never denied that. However, men commit violent crimes at a drastically higher rate than women. I've stated multiple times to be weary of anyone regardless of gender.

My statistics from a government resource are bad? Funny. I'd love to know where you got 40% from. As I stated previously, you're entitled to your opinions. If men want to avoid women, go for it. Most of us won't be against it. Women should carry guns on dates. Look up how many women have been killed by men they go on dates with and men they've rejected and then get back to me on that one. Men aren't murdered for rejecting women.

You're more than welcome to do your own research. I highly encourage it. What is the point of bringing up the vacuum of space? It's incomparable to a bear. It's a hypothetical situation that shows the preference of women. It's rational to be scared of a random person in the woods in the dark. Personally, I don't want to be left in the woods with a random man or woman. As I said previously, it's just common sense. Women do not run in fear whenever they see a man. Caution does not equate to fleein…

Bears don't view the entire woods as their territory. Typically, they only claim about 2 ½ - 10 square miles. As I stated previously, there have only been 180 fatal bear attacks since 1784. The likelihood of actually being attacked by a bear is 1 out of 2.1 million. You're entitled to your feelings and opinions. Most women won't judge you for not wanting to be left alone with them because the feeling is likely mutual. Luckily, false accusations only make up 2% - 10% of all cases, according to th…

The original post says "In the deep dark woods." There is a humongous difference between being out in the woods with a bear and lots of space and being in an enclosure that the bear views as its territory. As I previously stated, bears do not attack unless they are starving or protecting something. By being in their enclosure, you are threatening their personal space, so of course they're going to act hostile. That's just common sense. You intentionally steered away from the original situation w…

Anybody who knows bears knows that they do not go out of their way to harm humans, except for polar bears. Bears are predictable, they act on instinct. Yes, they are capable of severe bodily harm and their attacks can be fatal, but as of 2023, there have only been 180 fatal bear attacks in the U.S. since 1784. However, as of February 15, 2024, 4994 people have been murdered through gun violence alone. 98% of shooters are men. Just last month, a woman was found dismembered in a park on Long Islan…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
