So simply "lowering standards" also really isn't a realistic option as well. I have to disagree on this as an realistic option. Its viable to lower your own standards while trying to find women without already high standards. And if it's not, then you cant really complain that other people (women) wont lower theirs. So is your solution is that everyone should cheat since no one is loyal? What if you were dating someone who is in that 5%? Should you cheat anyways because there is a perceived 95% chance she would? I agree that a sizable chunk of people would, but nowhere near 95%. I know there are a lot of shallow people out there, but I feel you are vastly overestimating it.

You have some points, but it's worth noting that many young men have developed their sense of self-worth around the type/amount of women they can attract. Focusing on a career or hobby can help change how some men view themselves, at least that's what I believe.

Like many people here, I feel that you are the exception and not the rule. And that's if we take you at your word. I'm in a happy LTR, havent made a real friend since highschool (11 years ago), and I still agree with the get good at making friends first" advice. Not to mention that their are other benefits, such as learning vicariously from other people's relationships problems, advancement in the workplace, etc.
