The "Third Place" doesn't really exist anymore. And it affects both genders, not just men, and not just women. This is why dating is hard.

Can we stop treating it like a contest here?

I have been faulted for reaching out, by men, or most notably the most recent man I had dated. I want to agree with this, but my opinion is officially biased due to past negative experiences. I was trying to be the good woman, but I was severely faulted for it. It is a very hard thing to bounce back from.

Eh, in the grand scheme of things, I won't be a shitty human. It's just not in me to be shitty.

You sound very bitter. Yeah, sure, I guess women are now expected to romance a man, bed them, sacrifice their bodies to have their babies, raise their kids, provide for the family, and look after the house. Oh yeah, I knew women were amazing like that. 💪💪 Yes, we are the superior gender. We are Amazonian women. We can do everything. Mwahahahahahahahaha.

Usually a man courts a woman, and a woman, that is interested in him, reciprocates. I believe that's how nature works as well, from the knowledge I have gathered. And, as a woman, being courted feels natural and safe. If I were to court a man, it would feel unnatural for me. Have I courted men? I don't know. But I have done things like pay for a massage appointment for a man I really cared about who I also felt comfortable and safe dating at the time, because he expressed interest in me.

If a man wanted what I mentioned, I would understand. Especially if that man is tired of being emotionally damaged. An incel? I think you may want to revisit that definition. I'm not hostile towards men. It sounds like you've spent way too much time on the internet.

When did I say men shouldn't have that?

Who am I calling an inept chud here? And what the hell is a chud, and what the hell is IOI? Gah, all these terms are ridiculous. Your comments are useless regurgitated toxic garbage. I genuinely speak of wanting to have a better experience in life, and then I get some idiot on the internet who's only two cents they have is their own shitty assumptions about someone they have no clue about.

Because I guess I end up being attracted to the shitty ones without finding out until later.

I don't, but I believe a good man is extremely rare... And only even more so the older I get.

And believe me, I've spent years working on myself, and I still am. It has never amounted anything for me though.

Thank you. I agree, there's both shitty men, and shitty women. I've seen shitty women and I just shake my head, and think to myself, how the fuck do these women keep a relationship? Maybe I should actually be shitty for a change, because my honesty, integrity, dedication, honor, etc has never meant anything.

For many years I felt like it was my fault, it was my problem, I've done so many things about myself to be a better woman and none of it has ever mattered. Trust me, I spent over 10 years in self reflection.

I rather be a man and have a woman take a free meal out of me and be entertained, than to be a woman and have a man manipulate my emotions to bed me, have sex with me a few times, and then mentally fuck me up after breaking up with me in the nastiest way possible. I would so much rather be a man and experience that, than to experience emotional damage from being intimately vulnerable and trusting a man on a very intimate level.

And so many men do this "pump and dump" that women are so checked out from even thinking about dating anymore, or putting in effort either. It's safer to just remain single than to set ourselves up for being used, and getting emotionally damaged from it.

I wonder if it's because it just doesn't feel instinctively natural to "reach out" to a man. As a woman myself, it feels off, it feels like I would be pursuing a man.... And that just doesn't feel natural to me, because I'm always going to wonder if he actually likes me or not, since he isn't going after me, and it's me that would be the one going after him. I want to feel assurance a man wants me, because I've experienced too many times in my life a man didn't actually want ME, he just wanted t…

Dating apps just suck. There's nothing natural/organic about them. I hate the idea of basically "shopping" for a dating partner by looking at photos of someone with a brief description. It feels so shallow. I refuse to use a dating app.

I don't think I'm all that attractive though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/24 04:11 AM
1

Because I was told I am attractive. If you really want my honest answer about how I think I am, I personally don't think I'm all that attractive, especially as I am right now. But people tell me I am, and I've had many men interested in me. I do try to mentally lift myself up though, and remind myself of all the great things that I am. I think that is a healthy way to approach life when you have been through hell and back from certain experiences.

Sorry, I am running on 4 hours of sleep. Also, too many comments to read at the moment. I thought I answered it well though. I don't know if he is/was conventionally attractive. Also, it is very hard for me to feel sexual attraction. I'm attracted to intelligence, perhaps because I am surrounded by a bunch of dumb people every single day.

I'm not exhausted from pursuing, I'm exhausted from being treated like shit. And because I'm exhausted, I think my effort hasn't ever really done me any good.

I showed interest every time. I was eventually treated very poorly over it after being told things that felt reassuring. I think I may have dated a few narcissists and experienced the "devalue and discard" phases.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/24 02:45 AM

When I was told I was attractive, at the time I thought about him, I don't know if he was conventionally attractive, in general. I did like him, and someone set us up. We jibed well with each other at the time, up until he trashed me. Originally I was never interested in him because I was under the impression he was married (had kids, but then found out he had been divorced by his ex wife a few years ago). I was not entirely interested in dating, but I was open to it.

I do think I may have bad luck, and in life in general haha! (I don't actually believe in luck, but it's the best way I can describe how my life has played out over the past 10 years).

I'm speaking as someone who has been really hurt, I am aware of who I am right now. If a man told me he doesn't trust women, I would understand. I don't have many experiences with women myself, but humans are most likely, as a whole, untrustworthy until proven otherwise. The way I see it is, if someone has been hurt, and had a hard time trusting, I would understand it. I would not hold it against them. It is only until, if, a man starts treating me terribly due to his poor experiences in life, I…

From my perspective, as a female, this is what I've come to see from my own experiences. I am not saying that men's feelings on the same matter are invalid here.

So you think it's okay to attack me because I feel like, from my experiences in life, that men cannot be trusted? I'm not saying men are terrible as a whole, I'm just saying they cannot be trusted. Not until it is proven otherwise, and of course, like all things, that takes time. You are being way too sensitive.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/24 10:03 PM

No excuses here. Do I want to date men right now? Absolutely not. Did I back then? Yes. Did I put the effort in? Yes. Do I think me expressing my interest and efforts backfired then? Yes.

No, I do not think women are more attractive than men, I just think men are lazy and unattractive. I rarely ever meet a man who is ambitious and has strong drive in life. Also, I don't over rate myself. I'm in a position in life now where I would now consider myself as not that attractive, especially because I feel really broken.

Took advantage of the fact someone found them attractive, used them, and discarded them. All to fuel their ego. The last guy I had dated, told me right off the bat that me finding him attractive was a huge ego boost for him. Then, while dating him, I tried to break up with him because I had a bad feel on things with him. However, he convinced me not to, wanted me to trust him, and then he really twisted things up on me.

I believe it and you're right. I've been with unattractive men who have done just that. Men are just like that. But the fact of the matter is that there are tons of women on dating apps that get over 1,000 likes vs your average man that gets maybe 10 or so. We could also argue that, in this case, maybe men just aren't that attractive and need to step up their game a bit more?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/24 01:31 PM

From the age of 30 to current, I've only had two. Currently, zero. I'm 34. Women are not desperate to tie a man down for marriage, LOL. I've been single for most of my 30's. There's not an endless supply. My sex drive has plummeted because I'm not around anyone I can feel sexually attracted to. Also, I was not brought up in a drinking/party culture. I went to about three parties in my early twenties. One for halloween, one for new years, and then some random birthday party when I was 19, I think…

I sure as hell wasn't chosen for my ambition, and I was dealt a horrible hand in life. Perhaps I will get to my best cards in the next few years. I just hope I can have a family by then.

In my mid 20's I would have never dated a much older man. Mostly because I would feel the age gap made it harder to relate with each other on interests. And also because I was still developing as a person and would feel it would be wrong to have a romantic partner who most likely didn't view me as a mature adult woman (because I wasn't, I was still developing and learning about myself). When you're younger, it is very obvious how older people view you just by how you are treated.

Humans are a social species. Companionship is very important for mental well-being. We are biologically made up to socialize, and without it it just causes mental illness to surface due to isolation.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 08:13 PM

I honestly don't want to put myself out there more. I'm too exhausted/checked out. The last guy did it for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 02:05 PM

I just want a man who shares the same interests as me, has the same mannerisms, isn't a dead beat/slacker (because I'm not a slacker, I believe in working hard and earning what you work for), enjoys the same things I do, is kind of socially awkward like me, is open to experiencing new things together, is interesting, as smart (or smarter) than me.... Has to be a nerd like me. Is that too much to ask for?

I'm sorry you had terrible experiences as well. I don't think it's a good idea to try and compare other people's hardships, everyone has their own thresholds. The fact of the matter is that it happened, and the aftermath is no good.

I don't. I don't think anyone is wonderful. You have poor judgement of character yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/24 07:38 PM

People can be very manipulative or unsure of themselves, on a more innocent level, if anything. You can't always predict everything a person can do. Also, you shouldn't generalize a gender. Neither are men the ultimate judge of character. You have a very narrow mindset.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/24 06:09 AM

It is only until later when it is revealed. When they decide to no longer hide behind a facade, or when they decide they no longer want to treat you good because they can't get much out of you.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/24 04:48 AM

This is absolutely exactly why. At least in my case. Sure, they'll trust the man being dishonest at first. But after that trust is broken, it really fucks up a woman.
