That is understandable. It is hard to see the crimes committed against men to go unpunished and to be told constantly that men are the abusers. It really weighs on you after a while. GYOW, but as a personal request please work on your grammar. Any valid concern you have or raise will be torn apart simply because of the words you use, rather over the message you wish to convey.

The problem is not that she is female, that was actually an important plot point. She played the segregate daughter for Joel. He never would have worked so hard to protect Ellie if he did not see his own daughter in her. (Later he is just killed off needlessly, showing male disposability.)
