I think some of these men are waiting specifically for pickmeishas - in this case it seems he was only willing to meet OP if she took over the planning and agreed to drive an hour to meet him. LVMs know that pickmeishas will be a low-effort lay, so they throw out these breadcrumbs to filter out the HVW (because they'll be too much effort for LVM) and hope the pickmeishas will bite.
