Dude, if your only conception of life as a man is wage slavery, debtors prison, and "parental alienation," I feel like there's some circumstances of your life in particular you're letting bleed into your thoughts about the greater world. Issues surrounding the poverty cycle hit men and women, and often hit women more harshly for all the reasons bandied about here. As for parental alienation, I don't know if maybe you had a tough time with a parent, or your spouse/partner, or your child, but if s…

He was saying nobody forced women to stay home and raise their kids, that it was a choice. I was saying it wasn't a completely free choice, because social pressure and job/legal rules default that role to women. You haven't said anything to disagree with that. In fact you agree: "If you don't want it to impact your career, don't have kids." The entire point here is that women have to make this choice, but men don't. I can choose to have kids and have my career barely be interrupted, while my par…

Nobody's saying women are forced into childbirth. Women and men both create children. The career impact of this creation is greater on women than men, because of social expectations and rules regarding family leave.

Well, no that's not really true at all, because society places a higher expectation on women to handle child-rearing and because maternity leave is usually easier to secure than paternity leave, meaning couples may have to default to having the woman stay home. And yeah, women by nature have to carry the physical burden but we often compensate for disadvantages conferred by nature (such as disabilities).

Isn't that part of the point -- women's careers can be interrupted by marriage and kids in a way men's careers are not?

Ok. That's a tough place to be man. I know this will sound new age-y, pop psych-y, and lame as shit, but: The world can be a revolting place, but it can be a beautiful place. There are always both open hands and dagger blades being offered to you. I just get this feeling, in this sub, that guys had only ever seen the daggers, and spent a lifetime ignoring the hands because they didn't think they deserved or felt ashamed of taking those hands, or maybe had blinded themselves to their existence. A…

Is that the way you feel -- that people would rather see you commit suicide? That the world would be indifferent to your death?

I feel for the pain you guys have felt. I know it must suck to spend years feeling unwanted. That article, it's disturbing to me. I don't think that guy is learning the right lessons. I think he is just displacing rage and hatred he had towards himself outwards, rather than addressing the source which was his own insecurities. Many, many men manage to live in this world without feeling assaulted by it, and many of them are fat, slow, unattractive, etc. He built that cage around himself, not soci…

I'm not trying to win any kind of debate with you, I'm just telling you the impression you make to outsiders in my opinion. (And I'll admit I threw in some personal editorial.) In this thread even, I see a lot of defensiveness and a definite hard edge in many comments. You are free to believe or not believe that this is the impression that you make, and are always welcome to voice your opinion that this impression is unfair. I'm just saying, it seems weird to have an "-ism" or personal philosoph…

Or, if multiple people see something and have the same reaction, they might be on to something.

I mean, the fact that you guys have a "Glossary of Shaming Tactics" with code words and everything is kinda what I'm talking about. It comes off as weird and cult-ish.

Interloper here! I'll admit I have a bit of a morbid fascination with The Red Pill. I don't consider myself one of you but don't want to be. But I've realized that this place isn't the cesspool of boogie-men it's often made out to be (though like a lot of communities there are more than a few seriously awful people who populate this place). I've posted in here before and ended up in surprisingly reasonable conversations -- I expected cultists. Here's what I see: 1) It has to be said: the "Red Pi…

That depends. If I were befallen by some tragedy, I expect she would stay. If I just gave up and let myself go, I expect she would leave, and I'd deserve it. And it's the same on my end.

Hi there, appreciate the civil response. On the first point, it seems that you're over-generalizing by gender traits that can exist in men and women. Spend any time on Reddit and you'll see plenty stories of men who only realized well after the fact that they were trapped in emotionally abusive situations. I'm sure many on this subreddit will characterize prior relationships in that way; an aspect of the RedPill manifesto seems to be the belief that the natural order before "donning the glasses"…

Thanks! It's actually a law firm, and my girlfriend has been very proactive in helping me find a lower-paying job I'll enjoy more. (She saw how sad I looked being called in on a weekend last minute). She's offered to help pay my rent for three months so I can quit and focus full time on searching, but I've declined.

Hi there! I'm a non-Redpiller! I been lurking here a little bit out of, I don't know, morbid fascination with your worldview. So please don't downvote (this post title was directed to folks like me, you asked me to jump in) and I'll try not to gratuitously assault. Here's what you look like from the outside: a group of wounded men, many of whom have been hurt before. I have sympathy for that. I remember times in my life when I was less successful with women, and I remember the hurt and feelings …
