You know what bores me? People talking about Brad Fucking Pitt's latest movie or Donald Fucking Trump's latest stage move. It's boring as fuck. No argument there. One of the fun things I've done over the decades that is lower reward and that men of value and cute girls love is actually putting on a playact. Ever go to a hootenanny? No? Too bad Can't say I'm hip with the "playact" and "hootenanny" scenes but if they're fun, that's cool. Do your thing. Sex is lower reward. Hobbies can be VERY low …

This is an absurdly reductionist and borderline autistic position to hold. Accounting for every single action in your life on a cost-benefit ledger would make you an incredibly boring person. You'd have to eschew pretty much all movies, music, food, video games, leisure, sex, hobbies, etc.--i.e. all of the things that round out a person's personality and make them more fun/interesting. Now obviously if someone is a fanatic who wastes an inordinate amount of time on any of these things to the det…

I have no problem with lifting but there should be more info in this sub about building careers and financial empires.

Think of it like working for a great company. You want to get yourself in a position with your skills and experience to where you can leave the company at any time and have plenty of other great companies willing to hire you. This doesn't mean you don't value your current company.. it just means that you're not dependent on that company for your survival.

You have to truly be ok with her leaving, though. That's the trick. It doesn't work if you don't mean it.

This idea that skinny automatically equals beta is incredibly stupid. Lifting is great, all things being equal, but there are so many other factors that have just as much or more influence.

Not to mention that rent is so damn high it retards saving. The baby boomers have done everything in their power through government to prevent asset prices from going down.. pumping up bubbles everywhere that are good for them and their retirement portfolios but terrible for young people who have been priced out of homes, stocks, etc.

Did you only focus on nofap or did you eliminate porn as well?

This is super simple but it's the best advice I've ever read on this sub, and it's probably the biggest mistake I see guys make.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Donald Trump is like the Michael Jordan of holding frame.

Except if you ever suggest that lifting weights (while beneficial) isn't a panacea, and that building skills, career accomplishments, financial success, etc., is more important in the long-run than being buff, you'll be downvoted and called a pussy.

I already said that lifting is highly advisable for 95% of guys but so is reading, learning talents, getting hobbies, working on your career, figuring out how to make more money, etc., but those things aren't emphasized here nearly as much as lifting, if at all. There's even this weird strain of RP that seems to view the attempt to make more money as selling out--like women valuing resources is somehow more shallow than valuing a ripped body. The fact is that men generally value fertility and wo…

It's talked about as if it were. Read the responses to my comments and you'll see that apparently that assumption was justified.

Lifting and having a decent physique makes a guy stand out in a sea of mediocrity. So does being very funny, talented, ambitious, having your own business, earning a lot of money, etc. A guy with a mediocre physique who has those things will get hotter girls over the meathead without those things 9 times out of 10--and it becomes even more the case as you get older. To be honest, you remind me of a woman that tells her man to not lift. You remind me of a woman who tells her girlfriends that thei…

I lift 2-3 times a week. I just don't lift so much that I become a meathead at the expense of my knowledge, career, social life, starting my business, etc. I'm really not worried about having my girl stolen by a dumb meatball who drives a Mercury Tracer and works the cash register at GNC.

It usually takes significant time to develop being funny, intelligent, talented, having ambition, hobbies, money, etc. After a certain point, working on your physique necessarily comes at the expense of these other things. It's the opportunity cost. Lifting isn't a panacea. There are no panaceas and it's irresponsible to suggest otherwise. If you meet Buddha on the road, kill him.

If you're a multi-millionaire Hollywood action star, you're slaying it regardless. You think Jon Hamm or Tom Hiddleston have any trouble getting pussy? All I'm saying is that lifting isn't a panacea and it's borderline irresponsible to keep talking about it like it is.

I'm not talking about diminishing returns in swoleness. I'm talking about diminishing returns in the benefits of swoleness.

There is no such thing as too swole I wish people here would stop talking about lifting like it's a panacea. Is it advisable for 95% of guys? Yes, but there is a Laffer curve of swoleness. Most girls aren't attracted to dudes with extremely bulky, functionless muscles because they communicate insecurity, they looks stupid, and they usually indicate a lack of life/career.

No, because I didn't. I was comparing two similar situations... And you used dogs as a way to make a point about women. I 100% agree with your overall point but you have to understand that using dogs in an analogy for women is going to cause 99% of non-RPers to automatically label you as a chauvinist and dismiss your point. How about making an analogy with other human beings: "Hating a woman because she doesn't like your beta shit is like a woman hating you because you're not sexually attracted …

You don't think it's contempt to compare women to dogs? Can't you just say that all human beings are rationally selfish when it comes to relationships, as it should be?

I'd like you to elaborate on this. I desperately want it not to be true.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
