You could've made a joke out it. (like telling him: nah am a straight guy but i support your community. i want to hang with xy she seems diffrent i can tell by how she carry herself ) . Even if the guy gets offended or gets tight he won't do shit because he'll look bad if he take it in a negative way or try to escalate to something. Also by saying that you just showed your interest to the girl you're looking for. ( I mean that's how I saw the situation in my point of view and what what you could…

It's sad that you're asking this question, unless you're millionaire or something, like go build a business or something that you can rely on when you are 40. (this is a genuine advice, am not trying to be rude or sometging ). Life is not only about pleasure, laughs and fun. Everything is temporary from your feelings to the job that you're working. (honestly i wish you get my point, and take care man :)
