The only thing wrong with GIFs is how old the format is. WebM is much better. Truth. Imgur needs to take the mediacru.sh approach and convert everything over to webm or whatever HTML5 video format they use, and support video uploads like gfycat does, and drag the rest of the shitty tumblr GIF loving masses into the future early 00's.

Can you just post the fucking video? Reducing actual, worthwhile, impactful content to a bunch of low-res, low frame rate, bandwidth hogging, mute GIFs is exactly what's wrong with the internet today. It's insulting that you don't think we can handle real content. My point isn't that the comparison between race and gender in this example is fair, it's simply that you are justifying discrimination and unequal treatment of people. Sure, it's not as bad to try to promote an environment that's more appealing for your clientele, over actively discriminating against, say, black people. Yes, both of those statements are sexist, but one is positive and empowering while the other is negative and degrading. Like most Cy&H, it's immature deliberately offensive humor. It would be perfectly at home in /r/ImGoingToHellForThis. Still pretty funny, but I don't think this is a good MR issue/topic/whatever. Edit: Yeah, I misread/misinterpreted the first panel. Yep. EIR's comment was at +7, and the response around -7 an hour after this was posted. There seems to be about 40 votes added to those totals now, incidentally the number of votes this thread has. A man that is weak enough to get raped ain't a man to begin with That's a really horrible line of thinking. Swap man for woman in that sentence and you've got an equally offensive statement. No one's worth as a human being or "manhood" or "womanhood" is determined by their ability to fend off an attacker, whatever the gender of parties involved might be.

Reminds me of an exchange I had not too long ago. Someone was arguing that people can't consent while drunk, then mentioned how you should be held accountable for your actions while drunk. I responded asking if one should also be held accountable for consenting while drunk. No response. -_-
