Yeah I guess I ain’t think of it like that parties are social so everyone is open to that. Cool that hey is a solid way. I’ve been caught up like OP looking for openers but I overlooked women are just like guys in the perspective of them being human who are down to earth . I think I thought of all these canned openers because I put them on a pedestal and neglected being normal. Do you think complements are good too or should I stick to simple greetings

“Hey” “hey wassup”….. if they’re receptive to that then say your name and ask them theirs if they don’t alr volunteer it. By then you’ll be rolling. I got caught up in that too and by no means am I an expert but I had a realization due to a large party I went to this weekend where I talked to random girls and guys I never met and it all started with a hey wassup, or the girl asking my name and what school I go to.

That’s what I’m trying to do man. I realized that I fear rejection but deeper than that I find myself subconsciously rejecting myself before I even take a shot. It protects my ego but it shows my low self esteem and confidence. I’m trying to figure this out

Thanks man. That’s exactly been my problem predicting what she may say or how people around will act. Humans are too complex to try to place them in a box of canned responses etc. I’ve been coming to terms with that

I feel that. As someone who has had a little success with women you’d think I’d just think positively but I end up nowadays making up scenarios on what could happen so I reject myself before they even have the chance to. Mentally it’s fucked

I’ve posted about fear of rejection in this forum and have been told by people to go indirect to avoid it . While I appreciate the advice as it’s a forum I don’t wanna be grouped in with her friends… I’m not worried about platonic convos that’s kinda easy

I’m actually seeing one tomorrow so good thinking!

This is a fear that has been there since I was a child, and what held me back from joining sports, fear of failure and rejection. I’m trying to get out of that headspace but that’s what it is. If I had a 100 percent chance of being accepted no doubt I’d approach or do anything that’s uncomfortable so it’s obvious what my problem is. Honestly I just have to do it like I’ve done with all my other previous fears that now seem like nothing.

I shared the idea of porn making me feel like I don’t need women because I already orgasm thus making me complacent with my psychiatrist and he kinda dismissed it. Solid to see I’m not the only one who had that thought

If you’re anything like me on the first time you might not even bust due to the nerves😭 just enjoy yourself and don’t put to much pressure on yourself

Sounds good. Great check on my ego and calling it what it is. I’ve been reading and reading to find some alternative to going out and getting reps in due to fear of hurting my fragile ego with rejection, even though I knew all along the only way through this is doing it. I’ve heard some say indirect is the best method so that would be asking directions but I want to be direct. Do you think off the bat minor compliments and introducing myself is the best way to get out there?

I see what you’re saying maybe that example just isn’t for me I may substitute it by asking their major and how their days going and then compliment. Ultimately trial and error I assume

What’s the fix to stop being afraid in those instances

To simplify when it a normal convo they are like one of the guys in a sense they just are normal. It’s when I try to talk to someone I’m attracted to they get separated from everyone else and i pedestalize them as a woman and then get nervous .

It’s harsh reality but it’s true in some way. I don’t know how scared of them I am though. I literally talk to women all the time but that may be in an instance where I just group them in with guys to have a general convo. I think I become scared when I separate them from being a general person and identify them as a WOMAN that I’m attracted to and not familiar withthings change.

I talk to women every day that’s not the hard part. I’m trying to get better at talking to women I’m attracted to. I prob gave the impression I don’t talk to women/scared of them. That isn’t the case at all. I’m more than capable to ask for directions, ask for an opinion, etc. I’m trying to learn how to approach women I find attractive to advance not just say something and leave

Where I’m at which a college campus I wouldn’t use a line about new place opening. I was gonna ask this cute girl waiting for a drink at our college coffee shop what she ordered and compliment her jacket too. But what you described is indirect, what if I want to be direct, because I don’t want to waste my time on some BS about directions, etc

I have a fear of rejection, judgement from those surrounding and overall failure. I think I envision myself failing beforehand and it just makes me not even try. That’s been an issue with my life as a child too. I wouldn’t join sports because of it, etc

“Hey what’s your name” or “hi I’m ____”

It’s when I see them: I want to say something but I just pause and walk away or tense up and not even say anything to them

I don’t believe so. I haven’t approached a woman romantically

Fear of rejection has been the biggest thing. I’ve recently dug through my past and dating back to childhood I’ve not done things due to fear of rejection/failure and not knowing the outcome. In my elementary- sophomore year I never tried sports/theater due to fear of failing and being rejected in that sense. I’ve recently become better with joining things and not quitting but when it comes to women I still don’t approach due to the fear of rejection. It sucks I know the root of my issue now but…

I feel that I’m definitely stuck in analysis paralysis. Reading all these posts is my comfort zone and I’m not actually taking action

U use the 3 second rule? I find it hard to just throw myself into something like approaching when people are around

Exposure therapy is the only way. I’ve been reading all these posts and overanalyzing things but like Tony said the only way through it is to do it. I somehow forgot that which is weird because I had anxiety walking in the mall by myself or the store and got over that by doing it and now it’s like nothing.

As a beginner using a direct approach after you get to know each others name is it deemed ok to compliment their appearance, I’ve seen people say that isn’t a good idea but if that’s the case wouldn’t that take away from the directness.

If I see a girl in target as I’m walking by or on campus standing waiting for her coffee order what do I do if I’m not supposed to compliment her looks? Like for example if I see her waiting for a coffee I can ask her what she ordered but that wouldn’t be a direct way of telling her I find her attractive and it would potentially drag. Hopefully you can provide some insight because I’m confused on whether to compliment looks as a means of being direct or not complimenting looks

This was great. Definitely have so many limiting belief about myself. Physically I have what some people desire but what good is that if I don’t have the health mindset to go along with it. 🙌🏽

Bet. Do you think it’s inefficient to approach walking college girls? I’m in college and there’s an abundance of em walking to and from class daily. If so I can settle for target/trader joes and girls standing in a place

If you consciously make an effort to not let others people view on you effect you so much how do you make it more subconscious? I know it takes time but what are ways to become less outcome dependent and just more secure in your own validation so you don’t rely on others

What would feeling your feelings fully be? Noticing the anxiety and approaching regardless?

I don’t really go out much although I’m in college a lot of my game would be at target or Trader Joe’s or on campus. Any tweaks for daytime? Or should I be solid

I would probably see them have a slight smile and say “what’s up” see how they take that and then ask their name. Maybe I should provide my name first then ask for theirs.
/r/seduction05/02/24 07:34 AM

You think a simple, “hey..what’s your name?” Is too simple? I’m thinking I wanna keep it like that as I’m pretty inexperienced. I feel like once I’m in a convo I’m straight as I’m very good at communicating it’s just the first step that gets in the way
/r/seduction05/02/24 07:18 AM

I feel like if you ask her and she declines she needs to offer up a different time or something along those lines. When u ask something like that it’s apparent you like her in some way so now its her turn to show she likes you in some capacity too

I don’t necessarily agree then. I saw a girl in target who looked great and I could have approached and started up a convo even if she wasn’t peeping me. I think it definitely matters what you say tho. And I’m not even good at approaching women due to lack of experience but logically I dont think it would be wrong if you look good enough and aren’t a total creep
/r/seduction03/02/24 09:20 PM

So are you agreeing that unless they look at you, you shouldn’t cold approach?
/r/seduction03/02/24 06:24 PM

So it’s wrong to see a girl who’s cute and just walk up to her unless she looks at you. Damn I thought that’s what made a cold approach what it is

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
