that's what the whole thread has been talking about. Less attractive women are tipped less, on avg, than more attractive women. They hold a smaller value to society, I'm guessing, so... Their value decreases so much... that gasp their worth is almost that of a man's (read: their contributions are what matters, no inherent value).

I've heard one critique of the Strauss DV studies, apparently he didn't include post-separation violence as domestic violence, which seems obvious, because DV is usually defined as happening between married couples or intimate partners so I think Strauss' exclusion of them was the right call.

Okay, cool Yeah, I still don't really know how I feel about this, I mean of course I'd like to be able to just walk away legally, but I can't help thinking that even though it's not your fault that she decided to keep it, there should still be a modicum of responsibility so the child doesn't grow up fatherless. I guess... Idk I kind of see this differently, I don't see a baby as a having a soul. Not that its okay to "murder" a baby after (or before) the 26 week mark. Idk I think that if a man wants to abort the baby but a woman doesn't it should count like a 49-51 vote and maybe it should go to court, instead of it being JUST the women's decision. I think a court looking at family income, both parents' motivations, support, etc should have the final say

Oh wait, nevermind I read that wrong. Okay I get it, but how do we, as men, figure out how to fairly balance a woman's right to her own body with our rights as half the genetic code? Like it doesn't seem fair to me to assume gender equality and say that men should have 50% of the say of a woman getting an abortion, but I definitely think men should have SOME rights (right now I'm pretty sure it's at zero, right?).

I'd always thought in most states there was a 3 year window for couples in relationships, after the age of 16. So a 16 year old could legally consent to a 17yr and so on. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but yeah I wouldn't have sex til you found for sure.

Sociology of religion? You've never heard of it, I doubt your credentials as a sociologist if you don't know the church/denomination/sect/cult delegations within the sociology of religion. I'm a social psychologist who knows more about your own discipline apparently. Feel free to check out Ernst Troeltsch's work or Max Weber's work if you disagree. Come with facts.
