Look if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a 1000 times - go and read Models by Mark Manson It is the only dating book you need. It will help you unplug from red pill, get you to take a look at yourself and give you a healthier attitude towards women and how to form relationships (be they casual or serious) with them. You never need to lie about who you are or pretend to be an “alpha” (whatever that is). You need to find things you enjoy, that you feel make you a better human or that challenge you,…

I was never red pilled, this is my perspective. One thing you can do is read about how human sexuality actually works. There is a huge body of psych literature out there which will confirm some things about RP (e.g. muscle tone is often viewed as more attractive) but large amounts of it will shoot holes in RP positions (e.g. women are hormonal and have limited agency). There’s a great book called Models which I recommend for anyone who wants to learn how to interact with women as an equal. As in…

There’s a whole sub around RP and marriage. I can’t remember what it’s called of the top of my head. Shit’s wild

If your concern is sex, take a leaf out of Benny Franklin’s book. My guy loved to smash old birds because there was no risk of getting them pregnant. He also said something to the effect of “if I put a pillow case over an ugly girls head then it makes no difference to me who I’m fucking” He was an odd, odd man. But he wasn’t redpilled. Smash old birds, write constitutions and silence your do good

“Another major theme of ovulating-woman research also seems to have withstood the closer scrutiny: Women do rate themselves as sexier when they’re in the fertile phase, according to the recent studies—and, perhaps more surprisingly, so do men who look at them in photographs.” That’s interesting

“Researcher politely admits he was wrong without to much difficulty and acknowledges he didn’t vet his and other people’s work correctly” I don’t know much about the guy, so I’m not sure why people attributing malicious intent to him specifically.

I believe that you should assess each individual as an individual. The more you group and stereotype, positively or negatively, the less clearly you see. You don’t know why she forgave you. Maybe because she can’t deal with conflict. Maybe because she wanted to forgive you. You won’t know until you ask. You should explain to her why you behaved the way you did, and you should apologise. Tell her about the red pill and own the mistake. That vulnerability and honesty will go a long way for you rep…

Reach out and explain to her what happened and why you were in that headspace. Don’t expect anything in return from her. It may help you find a sense of closure. If people ask you why you were acting like a cunt, you tell them. Own a mistake and grow Then start working on things that challenge and stretch you, think about what kind of man you want to be and start working towards that. Gym and exercise are good cornerstones for that. Or sports and martial arts if that’s more your thing

You’re straight up confounding your previous relationship with your new one. They’re different people. And fuck it, if he takes the red pill he wasn’t right for you anyway. Have a conversation like an adult. Avoiding the problem isn’t going to fix it

Chances as defined by what? Subjective anecdotal reports and half baked pop psych? I’ve never seen data on women cheating that Indicates that they cheated because their boyfriend was insecure. There could be data out there, but my guess is that it’s more likely one of these reasons

You paint no picture of the girlfriend of dude 1 and just assume that obviously because he’s not super secure his girlfriend would cheat on him. You have no idea if guy 2 creates any kind of emotional investment with his girlfriend either. She could cheat because she didn’t feel loved. The biggest moving piece in this, as with a lot of red pill stuff, is female agency.

Hey here’s an article which really captures my perspective on Peterson quite succinctly Edit - I haven’t finished it yet, but this video is from an actual cognitive psychologist working in the field. Her take on Peterson. I’m like 4 minutes in and she’s been correct on everything so far

Well I mean if you’re using facts then it’s a fair argument either way! I’m not married to the ideas. Ultimately psychology is a “science” built upon probabilities. There are no absolute proofs, only corroborated arguments. Yep I’ve seen that sub. And that’s why I put out the point about C16. He has lied to suit his agenda before your dead right. He’s also a strongly religious man and I think that clouds his view. To my knowledge I haven’t seen him be wrong about psychology, but I’m happy to be …

I’m a psychology student. These are words that are common within psychology which are used to describe phenomena. Take conscientiousness - that’s one of the big 5 personality traits (Neuroticism, Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness and Extraversion). Anyone can verify that what Peterson says about personality and intelligence is broadly correct. He’s correct that Men and more disagreeable (on average) and that women are more Neurotic (on average). That just means that if I h…

Also, how can hypergamy be cross cultural because of men being bigger and stronger? It’s a phenomenon that effects women’s dating habits. It exists in the modern world. It isn’t just about forced marriages, if that’s what you’re trying to say.
/r/ExRedPill01/12/19 03:00 AM

I disagree with you that this is just a social phenomenon. There are sex based differences in personality which we see at a population level. There are hormonal differences between the genders which explain why there is a difference in how men express aggression and also in how they take risks. Women also tend to be more agreeable (on a big 5 personality scale) than men, which makes them less likely to be the aggressor. That personality trait is highly heritable, and has both biological and psyc…

Yep, I believe that’s what Dawkins was talking about with the “selfish gene”. You’re confounding genetics with psychology and attacking an argument I’m not making. Then why is hypergamy a cross cultural phenomenon? Also why do men seem to favour the same female physical standards cross culturally? To say that everything is sociological ignores the role of variables that we know have strong predictive validity of life success (e.g. IQ, conscientiousness etc)
/r/ExRedPill01/12/19 02:30 AM

My comment is not made from a position of judgment, I’m commenting on a phenomenon. I’m not blaming women for doing that at all, it’s just a real phenomenon and it exists. I’m also not saying that it’s a conscious, planned exercise by women to get one over men, at all. I disagree with you that it is purely sociological. It is likely a combination of factors, but I think to say it’s just sociological is reductionist. Edit: also, it’s definitley not sociological to have a preference for beauty. Th…

I think the person on quora is getting their wires crossed a bit. Manson’s concept of masculinity is very tied in with the idea of being vulnerable. So to Manson, good masculinity is being comfortable expressing who you are and being comfortable with being disliked for that sometimes. So for Manson, he thinks men that behave in that vulnerable self invested way will be more attractive because they’re more real and empowered. I forget exactly what he says about hypergamy, it’s really not that cen…

He believes that hypergamy (that women tend to marry up or into their own social class or marry up in terms of intelligence and wealth) is real. It’s a fairly well established phenomenon in psychology. It is a trend however, and not all women will follow it. Hypergamy in the red pill circus means something different though. That all women will cheat if given a better option. This is an incorrect application of the research.
/r/ExRedPill01/12/19 01:48 AM

Nietzsche. Manson was very influenced by him. I’d reccomend the genealogy of morality. Also check out Thomas Nagel’s work on absurdism. Have a look at Camus as well, but I think Nagel’s position is superior

Hang on - hypergamy, in the strictest sense of psychology, is the phenomenon that women TEND TOO (but obviously, their are exceptions) marry up or across in terms of social class, wealth or intelligence. That’s a fairly robust finding. The idea that all women will cheat if they get a better option is kind of the bastardisation of hypergamy. Edit: a sentence for clarity

Mark Manson is very chubby at the moment. He has been for quite a few years actually. And he wasn’t six figures when he was hooking up with most of them. He’s been married for the majority of time that he’s been wealthy. Have you tried vulnerability? It was life changing for me

Your autism is definitely a common thread among incels. I can see how that would cause you anxiety and make everything a lot harder. Have you worked with a social skills coach / psychologist? This is outside of my skill set, but there are people out there who can coach you and give you tools. Attraction is a tricky one. There are plenty of easy fixes on this though. Forget about everyone. What about you and your experience? There’s a solvable reason for why dudes don’t get women. 9/10 time’s it’s an incredibly basic solve or just a maturity issue. Every incel I’ve ever spoken with has an incredibly warped view of the world and ignores things that don’t fit with their narrative. Or they expand their narrative to fix contradictory evidence
/r/ExRedPill08/11/19 01:00 AM

So how do you know the example will play out exactly as you say? It’s not about forgetting Blackpill / red pill. It’s about proving both wrong. You can live as a nihilist if you want, but it’s not practical. Even Nietzsche didn’t want that for people

They would self identify. Or there could even be a questionnaire developed - though I doubt you could ethically profile someone like that. Disagree. I’m not a therapist but I’ve spoken with two guys who were self identified incels who were keen to change.

Correlation does not equal causation. You’re talking about a correlation of roughly 0.4, which means there’s 60% variance not accounted for. He’s neither. Working class family, average looking dude and a little chubby to boot. He’s remarkably funny and smart, and that’s where is charm comes from

Remember dude, what you looked at was a biased sample. They aren’t reflecting the attitudes of most women, and most of those women who play the emotional games come with more baggage than personality. Their sense of self worth is tied into men validating them - all their behaviours are conditional and aimed at extracting something. Not all women are like that. None of the healthy ones are. None of the healthy men are either. I’m not surprised it made you spiral, you’re disentangling yourself fro…

Average looking, no, yep and tallish? But, I also weigh 125kg and am a fat cunt. edit: I also have a short, Asian friend who does well. Focusing just on that stuff is the wrong way to look at it. Because yeah if you aren’t those 4 things then it can definitely be harder, no one’s disputing that. I don’t think it’s just because of these things though. Your personality and level of security in who you are are much bigger factors

Yeah but the way the guy you are quoting phrased that makes it sound as if he thinks being nice is sexually arousing, and it isn’t, not by itself. You can be a nice guy and still tell a girl that you want to bend her over a table and fuck her. The thing is, you have to express what you want and be cool about it not working out. Who do you think she wants to be with long term? The dude who is nice because he’s been told that he has to be that way, the arsehole or the guy who is sometimes nice, so…

Bang on. TRP makes you hunt out weak insecure women and get a biased sample. It also turns you into someone who has to perform constantly because you don’t think that people will like you just for you. It’s a bad place to be in. I think this is a much subtler idea and I think you are correct. I also don’t think it applies to just women. I’ve seen a male friend go through domestic violence.

Man, I really appreciate that you took the time to write this out because you’re dead on. Good point about the ADHD - one thing however is that low executive functioning can imitate narcissism sometimes, although it’s much more like solipsism (nothing exists outside of me) than it is true narcissism (my self esteem comes from others).

Some women do, this research didn’t account for personality factors of the women, history of trauma or where they were in their menstrual cycle. All of these factors could be a confound. As in, a woman with high trait neuroticism or a history of trauma may be more attracted to a high dark triad man independent of where she is in her cycle. A low trait neuroticism female may be different, we don’t know that yet. Of course it’s better to be a bully than a bully victim in someone’s eyes. It can be …

You shouldn’t ever be nice and expect it to lead to sex. That’s contractional behaviour, it’s manipulative. Expressing sexual interest leads to sex. You can be a kind person and still get bulk pussy in my experience.

Did this apply even a relationship? My experiences couldn’t be more different. Could be a quirk of my personality, but I’ve found that being interested in women and then expressing my own stuff got me a lot of action. It does mean you get rejected sometimes, but I don’t really care about that. If they don’t like me for who I am, then they can fuck off. Plenty of people will. If you’re interested in what that other perspective looks like, where you don’t have to perform and can just do you and le…

See I don’t agree with this, because I’m exactly what you’re trying to avoid and I am more successful with women than any of my friends. I don’t believe in treating people like shit intentionally. It’s manipulative and frankly, weak. If I don’t want to talk to someone at that moment, I won’t respond or pick up the phone. That’s because I’m more invested in what I need to do in that moment than responding. Thing is, I’m also assuming that they have a life outside of me and that if they’re not res…

Where they controlling for women’s individual personality traits in each of these studies? My guess is that this is moderated by trait Neuroticism. To get a comparative sample, you would also need to look at men, control for personality factors and then see if this effect was spread across gender or localised to women.
