This seems very close to a female version of "while you were getting laid, I was studying the blade"

Good on you for facing these difficult facts. People can hide for years, even their whole lives with you admitting difficult things to themselves. In this end, this isn't about other people or women or anything. This is about you. You need to become someone you respect. What qualities do you respect? What kind of people do you respect? Who, ideally, do you want to be? Start asking these questions.

I dont know what you mean. Obviously society exists and we have rules. There is no oppressive system of women that congregate to discuss how to screw men over

There is a whole other way to think about this. I believe men do have to work and have utility to have a sense of value and satisfaction in life. But we can be workhorses for ourselves and to our own ends. This creates competence and confidence and makes a man much more attractive to a woman. Some women will try and saddle this labor for various reasons...don't let that happen. Do what you want to do, for yourself. Don't feel guilty or bad. Don't look for a LTR, if you are living life for yourse…

True stuff. When I first got with my last ex I wasn't sure if I was really attracted to her...and by the time we broke up she could be having a massive break out with no make up and I just loved the way her eyes changed shape when she smiled or the corners of her mouth turned up. 2 months later and I'm so happy we split.

I mean, besides family and maybe a few friends, you only need a handful of cool women to get you through life and they are definitely out there. Forget about the hordes of miserable, insecure ones. But the cool ones...cool to you that is...they will probably only value you if you are in touch with your values and living a life honest to that. Sorry if I sound preachy but I've found this to be true in my life.

Fuck being useful. Young men should just focus on being themselves and creating a life true to that. In my experience, when you do that, women are drawn to it. But that doesn't matter because you are living your best life and loving shit anyways.

Its such a weird sentiment. "Using gender as a qualifying factor in governance didn't help society so lets keep doing it."

This might be true but it doesn't strengthen or uplift the cause of men. Lets be badass in whatever way each of us sees fit and enjoy life and shit.

We already have limits on free speech. You can't publish the victims name in some circumstances. This now extends to the accused until proven guilty. This is a necessary step as we have seen many many cases recently of the accused having their lives destroyed by vindictive accusers.

The Hillary campaign was the same thing. There is nothing intrinsically valuable about being a man or a women. We have plenty of shitty examples of each. But the whole campaign was "I'm with Her" making it very difficult to even vote for her if you did like her ideas.

I am happy to watch female lead films but I won't watch redos with the female version. I just can't imagine the writing is going to be good when they are obviously relying on a gimmick.

I mostly see it through the lens of my 14 year old son. I'm not a very political person, slightly left of center if anything. But my son comes back from school with pretty alarming stories that makes him defensive towards anything that smells like feminism because he is so used to it being used to shame the boys at school. In the early 90s it felt like the major leftist concerns were 1) treat gay people cool, like normal people and 2) women can do what men can do for the most part, stop being as…

Its one thing for the older men 35+ or so because we remember a society where there wasn't overt man hate. But for boys coming up now, this is all they have ever known. Hate begets hate and this will create anger in these young men.

I was just listening to the Joe Rogan podcast with David Goggins. David grew up facing all kinds of obstacles, all kinds of bullshit we hope kids wouldn't have to deal with but he told himself that he is badass, that he is someone who can rise above. He was an obese 20 year old who killed bugs for a living making $1000 / month and couldn't read. We willed himself out of his shitty life. He became a navy seal and ultra-marathon runner. It takes a ton of work to make it in this world but work and …

This is true. My son is in middle school in Portland, Oregon and the stuff he brings home and says is pretty suprising. But kids dont like to take adults advice so him and his friends always choose the contrary position. He eneded up taking a pro-columbus position in a debate just to be contrarian.

He provides a well organized, easy to understand framework for interpreting what is going on in society right now. I dont think of him as a mens right activist and I dont think sees himself that way either. He isnt a mens right champion, he is just calling bullshit on some ideas that have crept in university/society and explaining why. Which is more than almost anyone else with a relatively neutral ploitical profile.

Really bad write up. They attack him personally, try and make his thinking unattractive because it is supposedly bait for spoiled white boys who don't like having to share their toys but doesn't do much to address Peterson's arguments. I actually think Peterson's positions appeal to people just left of center who no longer feel like they are part of the left because it has gotten so extreme.

of the mods said that they need to figure out why teachers don't want to help the black students as much as the rest, and someone replied back that we should focus on why all males students are receiving less help, not just a single subset of male students. The mod went on a rant about how it's so typical for white people to try and draw the focus away from helping black people, and that the black students need the help more than the other students. I just unsubbed this morning from that sub. Gr…

You really have to take precautions. You have to have work relationships while thinking defensively. I own a small company that employs pretty much all women (dental) and I've had two situations where women who were being disciplined suddenly remembered times where I was inappropriate. They were both absolutely fabricated, totally irrelevant of the disciplinary issue and were the first tool of defense the women used when confronted with corrective action. I'm also great friends with one employee…

I agree. Im curious if she is being held to a lesser standard because some people tend to see women as less capable or helpless. There are certainly individuals out there of any gender who are chronically dependent on others for even basic decision making. Should they be held less accountable in a legal sense though?

She said: “She is a loving parent, albeit in many ways an inadequate one. “She was dependent on any male partners she was with. She appeared to lack common sense.” This line of thinking seems misogynistic to me.

This line assumes that men are going into fields we are excited about but in many cases that just isnt true. We go into fields we can support a family with or that we can attract a woman with. Many of these are jobs women will never be excited about and with good reason.

Only somewhat related but I was in a conversation with my wife and her friend the other day. The friend makes more money than her husband. She said, "I will never buy a home because as the primary breadwinner, if we ever get a divorce, I will lose all of that money...". I couldn't help myself, I said, "yeah that is the position of almost every married man who owns a home". Blank stares all around the table...

Just came across this article...I'm not a trump fan but this seems to me like a blatant attempt to emasculate the man. I don't think it shocking that these kind of things get published, but when it comes to being directed towards males, they seem to get published in bigger market share publications.
