While some men do benefit, many are also penalized arbitrarily.

I agree with your sentiment, but with a warning. Endurance isn’t a good thing when the energy is wasted. I survived a bad situation by outlasting my self-destructive ex, but the damage I accumulated while doing so was immense. If a person’s burdens are consuming all of their strength, it’s super important to honestly evaluate if their burden is reasonable to begin with. There is some pride in managing impossible situations, but doing this can be debilitating. Sometimes removing yourself from the…

It certainly sets a trend that universities are carefully watching. Affirmative action is inherently discriminatory. This case didn’t speak to gender discrimination, but everyone knows that issue is about to explode. Feminists and academics have been punching down at men for so long they simply can’t imagine any other way of doing things.

It can be very hard to read the crosswinds in this situation. Are fathers better parents in general than mothers? I don’t think so. Are fathers that get custody despite the bias against men in family court better parents than average? Yes. But that’s a result of the bias against men, not something specific to men.

If you'd been here on the Left for the last 30 years you'd have seen it. I can't think of a single time the left has pushed back against misandry. Try attending some of the events and talking to the people. Try not deflecting when people point out a reasonable problem with your ideology.

As an old.reddit.com user, why? I suspect old.reddit will be removed after the API goes. I've also heard something about limiting nsfw content to their app users only. Reddit needs to control the UI to maximize the ad revenue, so I suspect they're going to tighten up as much as possible.

That's quite a lot of words. Feminism didn't beat BSA into accepting girls. Feminists tried, but the supreme court said private organizations could sex segregate if they wanted to. BSA enrollment has been falling since the 60's. The LDS church decided they like eagle badges on their freshly minted missionaries and started an extremely large number of troops, this alone propped membership levels to a point where BSA could function. Then came the question about gay scouts. BSA is a private organiz…

Reddit is monetizing it's API, so popular reddit clients are having to shut down. A fair number of people do most of their redditing on a mobile device, and reddit's official app is not to many people's liking. As I've heard, there will be following changes to try to make reddit somehow profitable. I'm sad to say that I don't really care. I appreciate this sub, but reddit is toxic.

No. There was a study claiming this, the results were titillating and were reported everywhere. The study had a major flaw and was retracted, but the retraction didn't get a fraction of the media blast that the accusation did. Tada! Feminism! This happens a lot. The press has certain stories they want to write, based on their individual and collective biases. When the right story comes along, they get over excited. Remember the RollingStone UVA rape hoax? 30 and more years ago, women were at several disadvantages And many advantages, like not getting sent to the mines or whatever war was trending at the time. Weird, you folks always leave out the advantages. Why is that? I'm not going to defend traditionalism, because I'm definitely not into that. I'm all for actual equality, but feminists won't support that. You want advantage for women, under all circumstances. Even where women already have massive advantages.

No fault divorce is fine. No fault divorce combined with [a strong bias toward women and mothers in family court] and [women's preference to select spouses based on wealth and status] is a problem for men. A problem that feminists like, because it favors women.

There are definitely drawbacks to both roles, and benefits. I've been a single income family earner dad, a divorced alternate weekend dad, and a full time work+single-parent, I've run the full gauntlet. I suspect most people would be happier with a more balanced work/family/self distribution, overall. I think the problem is that specialization is very efficient at the cost of creating risk. They are not replaceable. Everyone is replaceable. While I understand why you think "disposable" is an inappropriate term, I think it's as accurate as a single word can get here. What value men do get is for our utility, not our existence. Men that aren't useful sadly are disposable, look at the indifference to male homelessness and suicide. Society's indifference to male loneliness has turned "incel" into slander. Society would rather that men die on the job or be physically debilitated than pa…

Excluding men from services, like family shelters. Can you guess what the feminist line is? Preferential treatment for women in all levels of education. Sex specific laws, like the violence against women act. Supporting the removal of due process, like title IX kangaroo college "courts". Making men defacto abusers via the Duluth model. I support mens rights. Actual issues like ... No, you aren't the arbiter of what is or isn't a valid issue. If women think wearing a hijab will make their lives easier, I don't have an issue with that. Women dressing provocatively in situations where that doesn't seem reasonable and being offended when they do attract attention is an issue. There is a significant gender double standard, there is a huge problem with how society demonizes male sexuality (so it can charge men for giving in to their…

I don't care what women wear, or why. If you want to dress like a sex worker, you are going to be treated like one. My concern is that once again, women are trying to score victimhood points from a situation they choose to create.

I have occasionally gotten attention, yes. The last time it happened I was walking through a crowded bar. Some random woman grabbed my ass. Grabbed a lot of ass, actually. I knew it was fucked up, and I knew she didn't. The difficult part is that I wasn't really offended, I was relieved. That's how touch starved most men are. When women do shitty things, men don't even know how to be offended.
/r/MensRights24/05/23 12:24 AM

Men do plenty of bad things, often with as much reason as when women do bad things. But men who do bad things are considered as monsters, where as women are always given the benefit of the doubt.

This is pretty stupid, but it does highlight the double standard. Women will get sympathy, even when they are exhibiting nonsensical behavior. Women can complain about the attention they intentionally attract. Most men don’t get attention at all.

Intersectional feminists will claim that they recognize different groups have different issues. But they don’t. Rather than acknowledging different struggles, they think they can do “feminist math” and add issues together. Black + female + homosexual = “I win”. Why? Who knows. Black women have better outcomes than black men, but intersectionalists have selective blindness and apply a blanket “male, white, straight is bad” bias. Often called “oppression Olympics” because that is way more accurate…

We can't fight fire with fire. I mean, aside from burning firebreaks to contain forest fires. And controlled burns for prairie grasses and forest underbrush, you need those to prevent wild fires. And of course, oxygen deprivation explosions used to put out oil well fires. That's a bloody given, that one is. But like I said, we can't fight fire with fire. Well... it isn't profitable for most to be associated with men's issues and advocacy I'm to the point where if a public figure says anything good about boys or men, I start counting days until they have to backtrack and ask for forgiveness. Andrew Yang is a perfect example, every time he got the slightest pushback on a men's issue he would do a 180 degree turn and shit on men.

There certainly were. The current climate is a little different, at least with western media. Look at marvel/Star Wars, trying desperately to pass “mantles” of current characters to women or minorities. But the deeper issue is how it’s all presented. Tricky. Looks do matter, so does personality/status/wealth/interests. In the long term. Eventually. When pursuing a stable relationship, women tend to overvalue wealth/status in a partner. I think the reason is that hormones and happy chemicals are running amok with a new relationship, they probably think there is attraction at that point. The outcome is that a lot of women end up in stable relationships with men they don’t find “attractive”, be it physically or otherwise. For very short term re…

Maybe this could explain why women are the majority in instigating divorces? There are currently multiple parallel factors that create this outcome/issue. A common one is that many women weight security/status heavily over attraction when selecting a partner. "New Relationship Energy" is that pleasant flood of hormones in the early stages of a relationship, and it can mitigate the lack of attraction effectively. For awhile. Once the love drugs wear off, they find themselves in a relationship tha…

Having been through the divorce industry once, I suspect marriage is no longer on the table for me. I’m not wild about this, but it is what it is. I need to consider my own financial and emotional security. Mostly due to the impossibly tight options available. I learned from divorce that I can’t afford to marry anyone that makes less than I do, is significantly younger than me, or has any conditions that would require permanent support. In most states it is a crime for custodial parent to withhold visitation. In my state the police won't get involved. You have to go back to court and ask a judge, which might eventually involve the court bailiff, but in practice the judge just keeps slapping mom's wrist and saying "this time, I mean it". The judge never means it. They absolutely do not care except that someone is taking up space in their docket. They hate dad for asking, they don't care what mom does.

Canadian family law is famously anti male, to the point where fathers who want to receive benefits for their children need to get permission from the mother. After Canada had their Gomeshi trial, they immediately started removing the laws allowing evidence that allowed him to prove his innocence.

Yup. This is the divorce industry protecting its own, just like when they fight against default equal custody laws. No down vote here, but I'll point out that small penis jokes are socially acceptable and giant vagina jokes aren't. Which is exactly why this ended up in CYE, he/they (his writers) can get away with jokes because of reasons.

That's just not true. BSA has no shortage of legal issues (hey, call the cops on molesters, don't cover it up) but this wasn't one of them. Rather, BSA got pinched by a no-win choice in front of them. If they wouldn't allow gay scouts, there was a good chance they would lose some access to federal/state land and lots of bad publicity. If they allowed gay scouts, the LDS church (a very large percentage of all troops) would pull out (and did). I don't feel a lot of pity for them, covering up sexua…

Men are considered to be disposable, people will never care about what happens to the men. Feminists just take society's indifference to men's suffering to the next logical step: antipathy.

current intersectional theory I love how intersectional feminists always think they are the "good feminists" because "intersectionality considers men too!", except it never does. This is true AND it's not a valid reason to not pass laws that protect us. Then that candle is not worth the game to win it. I donate to a lobbying group for 50/50 custody laws. That sounds interesting. Do you have details? Just because it can't be perfect right away does that mean we shouldn't make progress at all? Every previous attempt to pass it was cynical, and every future attempt will be as well. It would be used to justify changes favoring women but not men: because that is exactly how existing laws that seem gender neutral are used to oppress men. The people executing the law will apply their bias towards women, the end.

The thing I absolutely hate is that when people hear toxic masculinity they're conflating it to all masculinity being toxic. Because that is exactly how feminists use this phrase. When they go on the attack, all men men are toxic. When forced to defend their misandry, they suddenly claim that toxic masculine means something else. This is basic motte and bailey rhetoric. The phrase and concept of "toxic masculinity" was never good and cannot be redeemed. Let it die.

When working with boys and men, psychologists can address issues of privilege and power related to sexism in a developmentally appropriate way to help them obtain the knowledge, attitudes, and skills to be effective allies and potentially live less restrictive lives. Male privilege tends to be invisible to men, yet they can become aware of it through a variety of means, such as education (Kilmartin, Addis, Mahalik, & O’Neil, 2013) and personal experience (O’Neil, 2015; O’Neil, Egan, Owen, & Murr…

I know you said to not talk about guns but that's kind of the main point of why men commit suicide successfully more often. It can't be ignored. Countries that have extremely restricted access to firearms still have more male suicides. Men chose methods that work because we know that "a cry for help" won't get us help. There is a reason why male homelessness is so prevalent. Men that need help are usually un-personed.

As a full time single dad of two kids, I regret to inform you that the situation has not improved. There is no help, and the groups that are supposed to help find ways to keep men from getting help.

More homeless shelters for women There are quite a lot of homeless shelters, as far as I know there isn't a particular sex disparity. Now when it comes to shelters that will help individuals with children, there is a shocking disparity. Or worse, finding a place that will accept a man fleeing an abusive relationship is almost impossible. A disparity that feminists will defend to their dying breath. Every time a man is turned away from a service, a feminist gets it's wings.

Also, therapy fucking works. It can, but often doesn't. I've had 6 therapists, one was really good, one didn't cause harm, and the other 4 made things worse. The worst part is that therapists embrace the misandric bias. It's not getting better.

All cops are feminists Certainly not, but police like easy answers and feminists keep giving them out. Figuring out how to break up a domestic disturbance is hard, but the feminist Duluth model says that men are always the more dangerous person so just arrest the man. Easy peasy. Both feminists and the police are encouraging each other's worst behaviors.

It's complicated, but I think you are close to the truth. When you look at which sex pursues which degrees, it's easy to see that there is a difference. I think the root of that difference is the initial expectation. Does the person think they can make a living with an English degree vs an engineering degree? If you strongly suspect that your partner will subsidize your lifestyle, you're more willing to pursue a lower earning career. Colleges love degrees that are cheap to teach, it's pure profi…

The pay gap only kicks in when women choose to leave the workforce or cut back. Yeah, but be careful with that one. Feminists think women should somehow get work credit for taking time away from career for motherhood. They'll call it the "mom tax" and pretend to not understand why a magic wand can't make the hidden cost of parenthood disappear. They will specifically ignore the fact that high earning women want high status men instead of house husbands, so they create their own problem.

This is pretty specifically a men’s rights issue. Income is the clearest way to status for men. Men accept long hours, high stress, physical degradation, etc. because they can make more by doing so. All of these are trading quality of life for income. Further, the needs of this kind of specialization works against men in situations like custody hearings. Men need more work/life balance.

At this point feminists actively defend all of the advantages women receive from your examples. Feminism is not only preventing a more equal and just society, it is still trying to define more advantages for women and more burdens for men.

Among Fanady's holdings were 280,000 shares of stock in the Chicago Board of Exchange, Inc. (the "CBOE"), and this was determined to be part of the marital estate. The court awarded 120,000 of the CBOE shares to Harnack, and ordered Fanady to turn them over. For clarity, a five year marriage is apparently worth 120,000 shares of stock. Statistically, single men report lower happiness, have worse health and die younger. Although it's not clear if this is because marriage offers men any benefits or because unhealthy men are excluded from marriage by women.

It’s not really an excuse, it’s a common tactic these days. Do intentionally provocative things to the previous fan base to try to gin up attention and hopefully collect sympathy from people that disliked the previous fan base anyway. It’s call “fan-baiting”. Think Paul Feige’s Ghostbuster reboot, Rian Johnson’s Star Wars movie, or Kevin Smith’s He-man reboot. They all went on the attack before their shows were even available, it was scripted. The goal is to trade up the previous fan base for a …

Patriarchy is the classic example of a non-verifiable hypothesis. What it is or isn't depends on who is using it, and it can't be either proven or disproved (because it's just not possible to prove a negative). Feminists say men earning more is patriarchy, but it's really a combination of factors mostly based around men being heavily incentivized to be financially successful or penalized for not being so. That's not a secret cabal of men keeping women down, but feminists think so. Feminists thin…

When Walter's "why can't we hate men?" opinion piece was published by WaPo, feminists stood in solidarity by doing... nothing. The closest thing to a feminist rebuttal was published by The Atlantic, and it literally agreed with Walters on every point. Feminists hate men, this isn't new or shocking. Misandry is embraced and protected by feminists.

Marriage is a legal contract with a mountain of historical social obligation. Both men and women had obligations, now it’s mostly just men. I’m not traditional in any sense. I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. A scant number of women propose, but most won’t. A scant number of women ask guys for dates, most won’t. Rejection sucks. Working up the courage to initiate is hard. Society boxes men in, men that don’t learn to initiate get very little. But it doesn’t come naturally to men, it’s a “sink or swim” policy boys and men are thrown into. Attractive isn’t just physically attractive. Women often find wealth and status attractive. The language gets in the way here. Women rate 80% of men as “less than average” in terms of attractiveness, but I suspect this is specifically physical attractiveness. “Rate this picture of a guy” doesn’t allow much in the way of determining status or wealth. A healthy sexual relationship within a marriage is VITAL. Well, no. If low libido people want to pair up, they can not fuck each other as much as they want. The issue when there is a disparity in libido, particularly if/when the disparity changes.

The wording is clear, you are being retarded. Men have the right to want sex. Men have the right to want golf clubs. If you went to couples therapy the therapist would tell you your desires are natural. There’s nothing wrong with wanting touch and physical contact. They will even tell you that to go without it because your partner denies you is considered emotional abuse. While that's a possibility, it's not a certainty. There are a lot of bad couples therapists out there.

It's good to hear about a positive experience. My luck was much worse. Sadly, men need to be wary of therapists in general. When it's not working, break contact and try elsewhere.

Hard disagree. I’ve certainly gone back to the doctor to change things up when medications or conditions impact my libido. I think a lot of affected couples get into trouble when different but overlapping situations change at the same time. Like when work/family stress goes up just as new relationship energy is wearing off. People who care about their libido make changes, people who don’t just accept it.
/r/MensRights30/07/22 03:10 PM

Sort of disagree. While there are conditions that lower libido, people that care about their libido tend to look for solutions on their own. People who don’t look for solutions are often those for whom sex wasn’t a high priority to begin with.

Most of the issues that men face aren’t strictly legal ones. This sub is a perfectly acceptable place to bring up issues that men face, for support and advice.
/r/MensRights30/07/22 02:50 PM

I don’t see it as a man/woman thing. People use what works, why use a solution that doesn’t? The issue is that when it comes to avoiding sex, what works best are methods that create massive emotional and psychological damage. While not quite as common, there are many instances of higher libido women in relationships with low libido men. The women in those relationships describe their men using the same mind games and strategies that low libido women use.
/r/MensRights30/07/22 02:45 PM

I don’t think the average poster to deadbedrooms is an extreme case, sadly. Rather, they are people that are attempting to find a solution instead of accepting a bad situation. Attraction is very complicated, other people’s attraction is ultimately out of your control. I said making attempts is reasonable, but warned that success is low and to avoid “chasing the why” instead of making hard decisions.

It is your responsibility to care for yourself. If sex is something that is important to you, it’s on you to make that happen. If your current relationship can’t allow that, it’s time to move on. There are many aspects to a relationship, sex is only one of them. But if it’s important to you, it’s important. No one can arbitrarily tell you what is or isn’t important to you

Because most women won't. They have trouble finding the courage, they assume it's easy for men. They don't like rejection, they assume men somehow don't mind it. Most feminist women do the same, they don't want the responsibility so they push it onto men. And then vilify men for initiating. Did you read your own link? According to the new law, a single-occupancy bathroom is defined as “a toilet facility with no more than one water closet and one urinal with a locking mechanism controlled by the user.” Therefore, the new law does not apply to bathrooms intended to facilitate more than one occupant at a time. It’s specific to what California considers a multi-person bathroom. They decided bathrooms with more than one stall can be sex specific and don’t require an external door lock. But urinals don’t (or rarely, I’ve never seen one) have stalls. Any man can request a DNA test if he is questioning paternity. Some countries don't allow a test without a court order. In the US, you have a very limited amount of time to get the test done before it won't matter. If the man is not immediately suspicious they are on the hook for support whatever the outcome. I'm all for mandatory testing at birth. People make choices, it's time for women to own up to theirs.

To get the court to grant you a paternity test, you need good proof the child isn't yours. I don't believe this to be true. The issue is that you have to make an accusation to find out the truth.

And, women file 80% of divorces because they have a financial incentive to do so. It's important to understand the pressures that drive these outcomes. 1, women are more status conscious when choosing men. Income is the most straight forward means to attain status for men. That means there tends to be an income disparity from the start, which will favor the lower earner in a divorce. This also causes some other, less obvious, issues. Example: When effort is needed for something (family is a comm…

The vast vast majority of feminists don’t believe that at all. Your "vast vast majority of feminists" think "believe women" should be enough to ruin a man. No evidence needed, just a woman's word. Feminists don't believe women who falsely accuse men of rape should be charged or punished "because that might keep women from coming forward". Feminists don't believe women should be accountable for their actions, they blame women's bad decisions on culture.

Aside from not being the appropriate charge, perjury is very rarely pursued in general. Cases like this, much more so. No lawyer wants their name attached to a case involving a woman false accusing a man of sexual assault/rape/whatever. The prosecutors have a conflict of interests. They have to decide if they want to spend their own money and manpower, so they rarely do. Pretty much the only time you see perjury pursued in a criminal trial is when an individual really pisses off the prosecutors.

If anything, it highlights how incredibly throwaway men are unless they are rich/successful. That was exactly the point, and I think it's an important point. I hadn't seen anyone do that outside of a textbook or tech manual since high school. The tone of the book is weirdly adversarial. I didn't like it very much, but I found myself agreeing with quite a lot of it. I disliked the way he wrote, but thought the content was reasonable. In my opinion, the book is less about "not being a nice guy" and more about convincing men who don't real…

Male mental health: I needed help, and sought it. No men belittled me for openly showing my distress, many (including some I didn't know) were very supportive. By comparison, women were extremely uncomfortable with me not conforming to whatever their expectation was. Outside of family, women stopped talking to me or even making eye contact. Equally as important, when I sought help, it was not available. I was turned away by RAINN, and when I paid for therapy the therapists were suspicious of my …

I don't know anything about this Org. I will say that men need to be extremely careful when contacting services like this. I was interrogated for an hour by RAINN before they sent me away with nothing. The person you talk to often has a bias, and misandry is an extremely common bias for people that do jobs like this. I believe feminists think it's a clever "switch the roles" thought piece, but it doesn't really work at any level. What it does highlight is feminists don't believe women have any agency. They think only men make babies, when there are usually at least two participants.

I’m implying nothing. I’m stating that 49 years wasn’t enough time for feminists to consider granting men an equivalent choice to one that that women had been granted. It had been brought up. Feel free to read up on Karen Decrow. Feminists kicked her to the curb for “wrong think”.

It is literally founded on the belief that men oppress women for their own gain. Nothing can move that, everything they choose to believe is built on that. It will always be misandry. When the Washington Post published Walter’s op/ed “why can’t we hate men?”, the response from the “good feminists” was…. deafeningly absent. When some feminists finally did reply, they agreed with her. This path goes no where useful. A malfunctioning lens is not worth keeping.

He's unlikely to collect much of whatever he is awarded, even after the amount is reduced. He did lose some gigantic contracts because of the accusations, but that's not really what he cared about. Johnny isn't hurting for money, but the nature of Heard's accusations would have prevented him from many roles indefinitely.…

There were so many distractions that I just couldn't consider "the big picture", that was too painful and complicated. In that position, there isn't much else to do until circumstances change. The agent of change doesn't really matter, though people should out effort into changing their own situation for the better. Once you've been through that, life looks different. Al…

It doesn’t seem like you actually read the comment you are referring to. They tried to explain how a man’s perspective isn’t considered when “toxic masculinity” is applied. Because men are punished both for seeking and not seeking help, men try to balance their reactions. You launched into something about “dog eat dog masculinity” that didn’t really fit the situation they tried to describe. When I was visibly having a hard time, men were incredibly supportive. Many of them I didn’t even know. What you are describing is a common feminist view used to discount and discredit the issues that men do face. In that same period, women completely un-personed me. Women I previously had good relationships with. They stopped talking to me, refusing even to make eye contact.

Feminists don’t care when women are ahead. They only care when women are behind. Guess what? This doesn’t make things equal. Women have lots of advantages over men, feminists don’t care about that. A great example is the UN study on equality that specifically stops when women have advantage.

Conversations about “toxic femininity” are virtually nill. Few feminists can fully agree on what “toxic masculinity” is, and no feminists are willing to engage in why many (most, really) women find these behaviors attractive. “Toxic masculinity” is a broadly applied excuse to blame men for their own problems in a way that feminists never apply to women.

If a man doesn't want to be a father, he doesn't get a say. If a woman doesn't want to be a mother, some women have access to abortion. Both parties participate, but only the woman can back out. The man is considered to have consented to parenthood because they had sex, but the woman isn't.

Women earn as much as men for the same job, same hours, same competences. In many metro areas, women earn more than men. Initially. Things go sideways after kids and cutting back work time. It tends to happen in metro areas because corporations are bidding against each other for women in certain roles, and corporations tend to home themselves in larger cities. I'm a full time single dad, I'm very aware of the career/family tradeoff. I would be making a lot more (maybe double) if I had time to co…

It was up as late as yesterday. ”Today is International Men’s Day. Believe it or not, that’s a thing. Now more than ever, being a man demands introspection, humility, and optimism. Schools will pretty much always settle in cases like this, because they are absolutely terrified of discovery. They schools have deep pockets, the kids feel like they can't pass up the windfall of money. It's understandable, but this keeps the public in the dark. The schools continue to do bad things and get away with it.

This whole thing wasn’t in the ACLU’s wheelhouse. Someone was pushing for a change of direction, and got it. Of course, the ACLU hasn’t issued a statement on this. I would treat the organization with extreme caution. They are pushing misandry, they supported title 9 college kangaroo courts, and they absolutely shouldn’t be encouraged. Whatever they used to be, they’re doing something else now.

At least in the US, very few laws are explicitly gendered. It’s the application of the law that is overly harsh on men and overly gentle on women, and the ERA would not address that in any way.

/r/MensRights07/04/22 11:24 PM

There is no particular market for house husbands. It's part of the expectation on men to be successful. Men in that situation are often in particular jeopardy, because family courts tend to weight motherhood more than fatherhood. Society isn't ready to offer that role to men.
/r/MensRights04/04/22 12:51 AM
1

Women who want to pursue a career have that option. There are tradeoffs, but those are inherent to the situation. Spending more time at work means spending less time on family or personal interests. Men that don't pursue a career are seen as unsuccessful and undesirable. The mandate on men is basically unchanged: be successful or be unworthy.
/r/MensRights04/04/22 12:30 AM
1

I think that gender roles have changed to allow women to pursue roles that were previously difficult for them. There is often a cost, but it's doable. I don't think men have been granted the same opportunity. Society focuses on extracting effort from men, and frequently balks at the cost of offering support to men. If you deconstruct the expectations on men, it's a carrot and stick approach that creates many successful men, and many men that can't live up to those expectations and drop out. Male…

The way the term has been adapted is entirely in line with how feminists control the narrative about social issues. There are significant social issues that need to be addressed. Getting offended and weaponizing terms specifically prevents having important conversations.
/r/MensRights03/04/22 11:50 PM

You have changed the definition so you can use it as an insult. Go back to the beginning. Involuntarily celibate. Why would you use that as a insult?
/r/MensRights03/04/22 10:58 PM
3

Incel is a portmanteau of involuntarily celibacy. The term was coined by a woman, who used it to describe herself and others like her. The feminist community decided it was an insult, specifically to be used against men. The feminist community came up with a new definition for the term, one that doesn't really have much to do with being involuntarily celibate. This is a thing that feminists do. You pin labels to people you don't like to attack them. Feminist have other preferences, like excludin…
/r/MensRights03/04/22 10:48 PM

You are creating a mythology about what an incel is to justify attacking them. Involuntarily celibate is a result, not a cause. You conflate the result and the cause because it's an easy way to attack manhood. You use that mythology to pin that label on people you don't like. This isn't up for debate, go back through your own posts. As I said, this is the behavior I expect from feminists.
/r/MensRights03/04/22 10:31 PM

I just think bedroom issues are solved by communicating Communicating often reveals unrecognized issues. Most women don't understand their own expectations of men. They ask for openness, but can't handle it when it comes.
/r/MensRights03/04/22 02:13 AM

Most women don't have a clue of how much pressure they put on men. This is the same issue of women rejecting men who are emotionally vulnerable, even when they specifically asked their man to open up. They think they want to know, but they aren't able to deal with the reality.

/r/MensRights02/04/22 03:08 AM

It’s trickier than that, sadly. People often don’t understand their own expectations. I’m pretty sure the women who asked me to open up had good intentions. I suspect their reactions were a surprise to themselves. But it had two repercussions. In all cases the relationship immediately cooled. In some cases, the things I brought up got launched against me when they were angry. Proceed with caution, I guess? I think most women don’t realize how many expectations they have.

It’s not just your boss. People don’t see men’s problems because that would be inconvenient. Giving fathers rights would take away advantages from mothers. Get your own house in order. “Domestic” (I assume you mean violence) is a lot more equal than feminists like to admit. But your point is just a deflection against why feminists deny support to men. I’ve been there. CAFE has had notable success on college issues. Selective service has more awareness than it used to (NOW flipped from equality to selective service is bad as soon as selective ser…

There are plenty of misandrist men, you have plenty of company. The Duluth model wasn’t progress, feminists still like it. Preserving unfair custody isn’t progress, feminists still fight against reform. MRA are a diverse group and some lean toward traditionalism, but most just want equality. Feminists keep fighting against equality when that threatens an advantage women have.

Feminism only exists as advocacy for women. Even in situations where women already have advantage. Women get sympathy, men don’t. Especially from feminists, specifically you. Men and women have different issues. Feminism isn’t interested in men’s issues, and frequently makes mens situation worse without caring (or even noticing).

Feminism has hurt men. The Duluth model insured that men who try to call the police for help against an abusive female partner are more likely to be arrested than they are to get help. The Duluth model was crafted by feminists and received enormous support from feminists. College kangaroo courts were absolutely the results of feminist action. And feminists are still fighting to bring them back. How many shelters for abused men exist? Not homeless shelters, shelters for men with families. Why do …

Mens rights groups have some accomplishments. But importantly, if mra groups never did anything at all, they would have hurt men less than feminists have. Feminism is actually worse than no action at all.

1 No they don't. If they do they're inherently not feminist. Glad we cleared that up You have to look at what feminists do, not what they claim to do. Putin claims he's saving Ukraine from Nazi's while he bombs innocent Ukrainians. Feminists claim to be for equality, but attack men instead. 2 that was an opinion piece by one woman A very influential feminist. Who publishes a feminist Journal. Who has significant control of education at her university. Who continues to be supported by feminists. …

I agree and so do most actual feminists Feminists fight against equalized custody. Fight against allowing men access to social services. Fight against fixing the education gap in boys and the college gap in men. Fight against fair trials for men, peaceful assembly for mens rights groups, even access to food in crises areas. Seriously. Feminists don't want to provide food to men in disaster situations. Remember when a prominent feminist asked "why can't we hate men" in a national publication and …

Men's rights activists and feminists are allies in the fight for equal treatment. Maybe you should be explaining that to the feminists instead of us? Feminists push to exclude boys from education and opportunities. Push to exclude men from social services. Try as hard as they can to prevent men from getting fair trials or even just assembling. Go back to pulling fire alarms at men conferences, that's what feminists do best.

They don't bother me, and are crazy efficient. Urinals are the reason guys restrooms don't have lines at major events like women's restrooms do. If you don't like them, don't use them, but they serve a useful purpose.

They could leave. It wasn’t easy or pretty, but divorce in England was on the menu since Henry VIII. It was often frowned on, and involved considerable risk. The risk was so high that people often stayed married and just ignored each other. Assets would be divided during the divorce. It wasn’t that women couldn’t own land, it was that married women couldn’t own land. Would the divorce settlement be equitable? Hard to say, and divorce settlements are still often batshit.

You are bringing up lots of unrelated things. You used the word misogyny, I tried to give you context. Was the situation sexist? Sure. In that period, men were exploited in other ways. The past is a bad place.

Your use of present tense for a historical situation is confusing to me.

In that time frame in England the issue was married women holding land separately from their husbands. Unmarried women and widows could own land. Some wealthy women were able to skirt the laws with lawyers and bribes.

Let it burn. Feminists insist on invading mens spaces at the same time they insist women have spaces of their own.

Unmarried women worked. Many people forget how relatively recently Ireland became a nation. They tend to project the duration going back in time infinitely, but that wasn’t case. At the time jobs were scarce and the thinking was that wives would work at home. I didn’t defend the practice, but I don’t see how misogyny is involved. Feminists exclude men from opportunities all the time.

It's not consistent. One vocal poster in a different sub likes to bring up how Irish women weren't allowed jobs until the 70's. The truth is more complex. Married Irish women couldn't work outside the home, but not because of "patriarchy". Ireland was poor and attempting to ration jobs. It was misguided, but not out of misogyny. It was a social experiment, that assumed married women had income from their husbands. At the time, Ireland didn't allow divorce.

Affirmative action is deemed legal in the US. Asians and "whites" are discriminated against. Men are discriminated against. Many colleges give preferential placement to the children of previous graduates. They don't do this out of the goodness of their hearts, it's dangled as a reason for graduates to donate to the schools. These placements are frequently used to justify affirmative action, but it doesn't help the average white guy. Feminists generally won't acknowledge that the apex isn't repre…

I agree but what does it have to do with men naturally having more physical strength in average than women? You think physical strength is the reason boys have to be exceptional to deserve attention? Does physical strength make it easier for them initiate social interactions, or is that just something women don't want? It sure feels like you just said that men need to stay expendable because their strength is useful. Not a good look.

I think the only privilege men have that is Tricky. Boys are raised with a peculiar set of expectations, just as girls are. A lot of the expectations on boys focus around needing to be exceptional to deserve attention and needing to sacrifice for others. At the same time, boys are told they don't deserve special support like girls do and that they owe a collective debt to women. Boys are taught that they have to initiate to be successful and that they have to accept failures when doing so. Guess…

Feminist entitlement is entirely based on selective observation. They don't care what burdens are on men. They get angry if you bring them up. They only care about women, and guess what, most of society only cares about women. Feminists are traditionalists in drag, they will never try to lift any burden from men. Ever.
