If you feel that you and the boys will be safe, that's priority one. Maybe start with a separation and let the boys know the situation. Then ask the boys if they are interested in doing something like therapy. I guess if during the separation your husband doesn't work to make things better then divorce is just going to happen. That is really unfortunate. How old are your boys? How much of this situation have you addressed with your husband? And most importantly: if you go ahead with a divorce, what resources/support do you have that will help you with you and your boys?
