I’m pretty sure complex magazine started as competition to the source or vibe (90s/00s hip hop/rob mags). It’s not unbiased or political news. Newsweek is a staple in news. Based on these facts, I don’t think you can say we live in a matriarchy because a magazine caters to its audience.
