As a Dostoevsky fan, I really need to read this one. Though I was thinking that the The Brothers Karamazov probably more deeply and thoroughly represents social dynamics, but there are some parts of it that I cannot fathom: Dimitry Fyodorovich Karamazov, a complete scoundrel, gets off on the thought of dishonoring the upright woman Katerina Ivanovna. Though she is fully aware of this, she proceeds to get engaged to him, even while he's still out doing his debauched activities, seducing women, be…

Rarely am I so enraged at something at TwoX. Usually what's over at TwoX is trivial, women upset about being catcalled or called names. But now . . . the pure stupidity of some of the comments makes my blood boil. "It's none of her business what you do with your body." None of her business? She's a fucking nurse! argh now I'm all angry. That's enough reddit for now.

This is the most helpful reply so far. Thanks! All the talk about Alpha/women's programming etc. is the male attempt to make sense of the observably senseless female behavior. Its purpose is to comfort the reader: "look, they're not senseless, we've just been thinking about it all wrong..." There is a certain danger in feigning hypotheses to explain phenomenon. That's why good scientists and thinkers avoid it all costs. Take Newton, who knew that gravity existed and behaved in a certain manner, …

Nice strawman. I'm not arguing anything. I'm legitimately confused on the matter. Or troll attempt. Nice ad hominem.

They are programmed to do this. I seriously don't understand this subreddit at times. On one hand, you urge people to work out, make themselves better men, etc. But, on the other hand, you say things like "women are programmed/inclined to so-and-so, men are programmed/inclined to so-and-so." The former is on the free-will premise while the latter on on deterministic premise. So which is it? Does each individual have the power to shape who he is and what he does? Or is what happens to him determi…

A bit of both, perhaps? It's not always black and white.

if she's in to shit tests she's not for me. In that case, I think you've precluded all the women /r/theredpill seeks to seduce.

it's sheer coincidence that this change happens around 30 as the hormones shift. Just gonna throw this out here . . . or maybe it's because at thirty, you're older, more mature, are more developed as a person, and are more certain of who you are and want you want?

That's my biggest problem with the EMSK post - you can't choose to not take either pill. It's either or. In that case, you and /u/TalShar have to agree to disagree. You think that it's either-or; while /u/Talshar disagrees and rejects that notion as a false dichotomy. Your post makes the debate pretty much "nu-uh! you're wrong!" at this point.

And if so, is /u/Talshar okay with this? No. In fact, he agrees that that "original" power dynamic is just as bad: They lament being used for their money, their homes, their emotional support, what have you, and then being left when they weren't "Alpha" enough to keep their girlfriends around. It's a shame, it really is. Nobody deserves that kind of abuse. From how it reads to me, it seems that he thinks woman using men for their resources without reciprocating is just as bad.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
