That is for a single event jersey. Like I said, if their merch sales, overall, combine to a value greater than the men's leagues in the US, then we can talk. But there are 22 men's teams, does thus article have a secret paragraph where it outlines the sale of the MLS merch in comparison to the US Women's team jersey for the 2019 world cup?

And they have bitched before and it bore no fruit because they were wrong. They deserve what they are getting and if any inch of their argument compares themselves to the men's league's they have to fight back on every single point. If they deserve more money on their own merits regardless of the men's pay, then they ought to make the argument on those grounds. This is a pussy pass denied because they are building the case on them in comparison to men. If they just built the case on their own th…

To outpace the revenue of the men's league it would need to be more than the combined amount for all men's teams. There are 22 men's teams in MLS. There are 6 women's teams.

First of all I didn't say you had to be an American to have an opinion on reddit. I assume you said that because you are claiming ignorance on the MLS teams in the US. I didn't assume you were American, but calling it soccer is a pretty American thing. I also didn't claim that anecdotal evidence is the end all and be all, I would never claim that. But I provided my experience as the starting reference point. I expand from there. I said I would be happy to know where you got your info, because yo…

Dude, the second sentence I wrote, "But I live near Philadelphia and almost every single weekend I see at least one person wearing a Philadelphia Union jersey." Which I assume you had no idea that the Philadelphia Union are an MLS team.

I have not once seen someone wearing a pro women's soccer jersey, hat, shorts, anything. But I live near Philadelphia and almost every single weekend I see at least one person wearing a Philadelphia Union jersey. I even own one and so does my brother. I have a difficult time believing that the women's teams make more merch revenue from their league sales when they are only in like 7 or 8 cities. And I also have a hard time believing the once every 4 years uptick in sales for the womens world cup…

Their league brings in almost no money. When was the last time a women's league game filled a stadium? Have they ever once did that?

Right. Good. Then women will complain, get their own league, enjoy it for a bit. Then bitch about pay, and restart the cycle.

It's not about the specific team is the league and the contest. The women's world cup brings in like 10% of the men's world cup. Where do you intend to find a 90% increase in revenue for the womens league?

lol, just cancel the gender leagues and consolidate into one league. I mean, gender is a social construct right?

Except the women's team get paid whether or not they play, the men don't. They have different contracts. Don't like the contract? Negotiate. They could have leverage if they were willing to up and leave, and if the league really needs them to remain profitable the league will bend.

Other people asked, and I didn't see a reply. How was it sexist? Did you read it? It seemed even handed to me, and I don't know what is sexist in it. Just toss in one or two sentences from it that were sexist. You know, with their context... so more like show one or two paragraphs that are sexist.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
