The labor movements are responsible for the fact that children are not working anymore, salaries of common workers have reasonable levels, work safety standards and so on. 1	In the UK and Ireland, men are being officially denied ICU care for corona. The problem comes if there are not enough hospital beds, and too many sick people - which mind you, is not the case yet. How would a private clinic help that? The only people who would profit if there is a purely private clinic system is the people who have money and/or influence and can afford care. 3	In the UK and Ireland, men are being officially denied ICU care for corona. I find the title somewhat sensationalised. It is not so simple as denying men access to the ICU. There is a triage system where if the ICU is full, only the people who have the highest chance of survival get admitted, in order to save as many lives as possible. 2	QUESTION: Is it true that most male victims of homicide know their perpertators? I have seen people state that most male homicides are due to men putting themselves in that situation and/or resolving it with violence. I have not seen any study that states this so far, but still curious... Without any context that little comment can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. One way is that this sounds a lot like "She should not have worn that skimpy dress" or "She should have not dated him". In Pro-life/conservative circles it is socially accepted and very common to tell women "If you don't want a baby just don't have sex". Don't forget that most teachers for younger children, when a lot of the social norms are thought, are women. This extends to pre-school, and primary school. If a group contains only men, there is a shared experience of maleness who all experience the same expectations. This can decrease force of societal norms that is expected - because nobody has to "act" them. Apparently the Council of Europe thinks that the Dutch approach of domestic violence, which is pretty gender neutral is not good enough. 1	Prostate cancer causes more deaths than breast cancer in the UK, but only receives half the funding. Also what I remember, apparently pretty much every man develops prostate cancer towards the end of their life. In causes of death it does make sense to look at years lost, not just lives lost. If prostate cancer kills people at 85, and breast cancer at 50, it makes sense to devote more resources to fighting breast cancer.
