All I can give are my personal thoughts and anecdotes, but I've only worn makeup because some men (women could as well, I'm bi, but I've never had that happen) expect me to wear makeup for them. Sometimes they said at first no makeup is fine, but it turned out not to be and it was an expectation. I also don't want to be chased, and I don't think most women want that as well, it's lovely to feel wanted and have people do nice things for you, spend time with you, etc, and I like doing the same for…

I hugely disagree with the notion that confiding in other people about things you haven't disclosed with your partner is cheating. Some things understandably you don't want to share with your partner, I often have issues that I tell other close friends and not my partner, not because I don't love my partner, but certain things can be extra uncomfortable when discussing it with your SO. If it's in a romantic or sexual context then that's crossing a boundary, but it often isn't. If I was having se…

I could provide many anecdotes about how women are still held to unrealistic beauty standards, but I won't, all I can say is even though there's a push for body positivity in women, it doesn't change what men find attractive. Regardless of how many magazines have plus size models and whatnot, it doesn't change that a lot of men don't find that attractive. The whole Tinder thing you mentioned is really just Tinder, it breeds shallowness and reduces both men and women to tiny bios, star signs, hei…

Yeah I do get what you mean by I don't think "normal" is the right word for it.

Well 1. You're defining being straight as normal, which it can be as statistically it's the majority but if that's how "normal" is defined you could say a whole lot of groups of people aren't normal despite them in practice being normal. Brain disorders aren't causing anything when it comes to sexuality, you can only really claim that if you either thing that not being straight is a problem/disorder, or think that a mild positive association between gender non-conformity and not being neurotypic…

Marrying someone who used to be promiscuous isn't really valuing yourself it's just devaluing someone else based on something that doesn't determine value, saying about "becoming aware of their worth" is just a way of explaining away insecurity without saying they're just insecure. I do get it can feel more special if you're someone's first but at the end of the day what your describing is devaluing others, not valuing yourself.

People like having sex. I do agree sex in a relationship is usually better but relationships come with a lot of other stuff which some people mightn't want, and finding a happy healthy relationship is much harder than finding a hookup. To me it's unsatisfying but I don't really get why it's hard to understand the purpose.

Maybe it's because people don't imply that being straight is often caused by abuse? For example.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
