If you lie to a cop you're gonna get fucked, but a woman can go in and lie to the court just for the purpose of starting some shit? Its a severe abuse of the system. 6	Domestic Violence Defined for TRP I was a cop and currently a law student. The better question is why are women no prosecuted when lying to obtain protective orders. The jurisdiction I worked in had DVPs which are domestic violence petitions. Essentially a woman goes to the court house, write a narrative of how a man engaged in domestic violence, and the court grants the order.
