Incorrect. Myers Briggs has predictive validity. It is useful for career counseling and can generally point you in the right direction. If you and I sat down for 10 minutes I could almost certainly guess your type. The types are decided by how you respond to questions about yourself. Comparing it to astrology is completely erroneous.

I don't want sympathy and I go out of my way not to talk about stuff like this, but this really hurts. I know and have always known that I am not what my family wants me to be and that I never will. They just think I'm such a loser, even if they never say it out loud. It's just so painful to live with that for 20 years as I have.

True, but they will hopefully have a large equities position and rental properties and ideally some precious metals and crypto. If they are properly diversified they should be fine.

Michael Burry. I absolutely love Michael Burry, he is my finance role model and favorite investor. However, his ideas and techniques are extremely advanced. I'm afraid you will get misled. For now it's probably best to stick with Millionaire Fastlane. Also I recommend Your Money or Your Life, and The Richest Man in Babylon.

Okay, I'll bite. In terms of securities I am primarily in a very broad global equities ETF with most of the weight on US markets obviously. Boring I know. I'm considering playing the VIX both as a hedge and also just to trade in and out. Any thoughts? Also: Fed and Nixon.

Great list. I would add: - Fnancial Independence and - Prepping. Prepping gets a really bad rap (for good reason) but it's really just about recognizing risks and hedging against them by either building new skills (ex. learn how to fight or start a fire, etc) or buying supplies like food, water and candles, etc. to have on hand in a crisis. No bunker necessary.

Yes I figured, but I thought the movie was very sympathetic to them. I mean, I get it, but that's probably not how I would have portrayed them.

It does, but most people (like 95%) just want to be listened to, they don't actually want to make any changes, that's why therapists take a hands off approach- everybody's got bills to pay, can't afford to lose any clients.

You're right. We all know this stuff, once you've lived for a little while. But most don't realise there is another way. They don't get that they are free... You can literally do whatever you want in your life. They don't grasp That.

Sure. But Bukowski was an extremely successful poet. He takes up more shelf space than any other American poet. Doesn't that count? Also Alexander the great was an awful alcoholic. I can love his other qualities without condoning alcoholism.

I see where you're coming from, but you're not entirely correct. Stoicism actually has two aspects - ethics and metaphysics. Stoic Metaphysics - the universe is guided by universal law and order, your fate is determined, so don't worry about anything. what happens, happens. Be strong and courageous. Accept your fate like a man. This is basically the western version of Buddhism. Stoic Ethics - Human beings are designed to be social animals, so act in accordance with your nature and do what is bes…

Frame is essentially Zen. Holding frame, at the deepest level isn't difficult, it's the easiest thing in the world. Why? When I'm in my best, most zen-like moments (which simply just means not being self-consious for once in your life), I don't even notice shit tests, it's like the girl (or whoever is giving me shit)isn't even talking about me, it goes right over my head, no damage done, and I'm totally unphazed. I disagree. The key is that you should be expressing your true desires, but without being needy. The example above is what Mark Manson would call "false confidence." There's nothing manly about feigning disinterest. Something along the lines of "Let's go out tonight" ought to do the trick.

This point requires a bit of philosophizing: 1) If you are nice and expect nothing back you are a PUSH OVER 2) If you are nice and expect something back you are a MANIPULATIVE NICE GUY. 3) If you are not nice and expect something you are an ASSHOLE. 4) If you are not nice and don't expect anything back you are... also an ASSHOLE. Yes, you are correct. The problem isn't usually the actual mechanics of vocalization, the problem is the place that the vocals come from. For example: We often talk about how a man can say "You're beautiful" from either a masculine, secure (read: alpha) place or a needy, weak (beta) place. The same is true of the actual sound that you project. If, when you are speaking you feel sure of yourself and kingly even, then you don't need to worry too much about the depth of your voice. It's not the sou…

When you can be completely comfortable in your own skin, not needing any approval from anyone, unconcerned about whether what you say or do is 'alpha' or 'cool' or whatever, then you'll be there. The truth is that women can tell when someone is attracted to them. Even if a really hot girl causes men to be intimidated and hence not approach, she still sees them stealing looks and has to deal with men constantly, just to go about her daily errands. That said, I'm still not convinced that really hot women DON'T get approached. I'm pretty sure they get approached all the time.

Honestly, you sound a lot like me. I feel like I could have written this myself. So... I may not be the best person to give advice, but here goes: 1) Obligatory: You may do well to go see a counsellor. I can almost guarantee this has something to do with your childhood. 2) In my case, I became super independent in my 20s as a reaction to being very sensitive and needy as child and adolescent. This independence prevented me (and sometimes still does) from loving women. I could date them, 'use' th…

Yea. So the biggest threat to you is that you get stuck in a negative thought pattern while your there. Because you're going out alone, your mind state will naturally tend towards negativity. ie. You'll be standing alone in the bar, making excuses as to why you can't approach this or that girl. You will slowly, but surely become more and more nervous, until approaching, let alone success in any way shape or form, becomes completely impossible. Yeah, there are likely a couple factors involved here. 1) You are likely not taking into consideration many IOIs given to you from less attractive girls. So consider for a moment that, actually, you could have been with women, you just chose not to because you believe yourself to be of higher value. That's okay. You'll grow out of that. Small chunk your way to self esteem. This is going to be done by, over the course of probably 10 years, focusing on both gaining social skills by talking to lots of people and taking social risks, but also introspection and spiritual growth by reading, writing, and always working on yourself.

No, I wouldn't put it exactly like that. What I mean is right now, just make the conversation the point in an of it self. Just see if you can go up to someone new and talk about their day, or whatever, and enjoy yourself. What I meant is that this will likely not get you laid. But that's okay, because right now, your only concern should be getting over internal game issues, and becoming more socially calibrated. "Self love and the capacity to love others." This is, in my mind, in direct contrast with the need to be loved, to feel loved, or the belief that others can validate your identity. People come to pick up in order to be able to feel as though they are lovable, that they are enough. But no one can ever fill that void. No amount of sex, no amount of girlfriends, will ever give you what you came to the game to find. Self love, and by extension the growing capacity to love others. That is the key, yo…

When you are first developing, all your approaches will suck. Don't worry too much about it. Just look at it as going up to talk to someone you are interested in. Just go up and ask them how they are. They conversation will likely not go anywhere. You will get friendzoned, or shut down or whatever, constantly. That's okay. This is a perfect post. I just want to clarify one thing though: Likely part of the reason these things offend you are that you feel like you're being 'disrespected.' A lot of betas will parade around calling themselves alpha and 'demand respect.' This is incredibly cringe worthy and totally superficial. There is nothing alpha about getting upset when someone else doesn't give you the respect you feel you deserve (by virtue of your super alpha-ness, or some other delusional reason). If you want …

/r/seduction28/11/14 07:53 AM

Everything you said here is right. Game does have one redeeming feature though: a lot of men are still in a very insecure place and they think that there is something intrinsically wrong or unattractive about them. Game is a way for a person to slowly grow out of that mindset and become comfortable with themselves and with talking to women. You're right though. Once you reach a certain level of self esteem, game becomes completely counter productive.
/r/seduction28/11/14 07:47 AM

You should listen to him. Real men don't do pick up. At best, pickup is a very, very short phase that you go through in order to develop as a man and as a human being. Pick up is dangerous my friend.
/r/seduction27/11/14 09:54 PM
3

You're almost certainly coming off as an asshole. Once you reach a certain level in game, negging, acting alpha, demonstrating high value all become meaningless. A true ladies' man doesn't do these things, he just acts like himself and makes the people around him feel good.
/r/seduction27/11/14 09:46 PM

Sometimes an honest apology is in order. Every now and again you will say something that actually hurts a woman. At this point, you should look her in the eyes and say "Sorry. I think I went a little too far." Do this in a non-needy way. You're not saying it to get her to like you again. You're saying it because that's what decent people do.

Yeah, man, the problem here is that you're not being natural. Guys who are naturally good with women don't calculate their questions, responses, etc. They just say things, and feel good about themselves and make the people around them feel good. This kind of charisma takes a long time to develop. I've always said that the path to success with women is a 10 year journey, not 1 year. Peacocking refers to wearing unusual clothes to spark conversation. So I guess, if you want to stretch it, you could say that being Irish is peacocking. Either way, it doesn't matter. The main thing is that you keep talking to girls, to get over your AA. Having a pocketed conversation, like about you being Irish can be helpful, just don't lean too much on it, if you can avoid it.

Try to enjoy the process (life is a process). Don't focus on pickup for a bit, and instead that day focus on things that you love that also make you a better person. I play guitar and sing.
