Because of anachronistic gender roles that are engrained into society. Societies often put women on the pedestal as something to be protected while men are considered disposable (at its core). This developed WAY back because of the need to ensure propagation of the species. Unfortunately it has been perverted over the years into the current situation that exists for both genders. Until men get together as a whole and start to fully understand what MGTOW groups are trying to teach, this situation…

I have a question for the therapists out there. I was a fed for five years and never had one of my arrestees plead insanity but I was told by several assistant U.S. attorneys I worked with that it rarely works out for them. I HAVE seen many of my defendants who were substance abusers exploit the system loopholes though. For example, during sentencing, they claim they aren't in their "right mind" to understand the charges/penalty the judge was handing down so they got stay after stay because the …

I just posted my experience with this to a previous comment before I saw what you wrote. You couldn't be more correct. I still can't believe how cold and cruel they can be to someone they claim they loved.

I've experienced that one and it's all TOO real. My last girlfriend (about to be fiancé) hit me up with a TEXT stating that she was choosing to "exit the relationship" after not even discussing any concerns she may have had during the last six months we were together. Just for clarification, we were together for a year. I tried talking to her but it was like trying to talk to a feelingless and icy cold machine. She just sent a couple texts and disappeared. I was crushed and felt with that for ov…

This is ABSOLUTELY true. "Project Manager" is a position which is a position in the promotion ladder. In your example, the person is an "engineer" who had been promoted to manage a project.

Well, trolling I understand. I appreciate the insight.

I agree that not every adjective in the definition applies. I was simply making the point that what I stated was in now way even remotely intended to be racist. I DO appreciate your input and I can absolutely see that it could be a trigger word so it goes on the list of potential inflammatory things to avoid. Don't make the mistake of thinking I don't want a woman to be tractable or deferential. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am most attracted to a woman who is intelligent and knows …

I was unaware at the shift in the public consciousness which places such a heavy influence on associating that word with a slur for minorities. I believe that it's clear from my post that it couldn't be further from that context. Regardless, I have no intention to derail this post because of people (politicos, activists, SJWs, etc., not YOU specifically) having too much time debating when random adjectives should be classified as racist instead of focusing on the current dumpster fire of effectiv…

Oh, it's absolutely not limited to Reddit. It was that thread I referenced which simply made me reminisce of all the other instances in which I've encountered it. Your four bullet points are the most succinct and accurate I've seen typed so far. If one hadn't personally experienced those things or at least witnessed them, I would laugh because your words would seem like exaggerated hyperbole. That's just a sad commentary on how bad things have gotten.

This actually made me laugh audibly. I sincerely appreciate anyone taking the time to read my post yet alone respond to it, but I was really hoping that response would have a follow up clarification. I consider myself to be an intelligent man but I could not see the reason for a man to pretend to be a woman just to pretend to be angry at men. LoL

Completely agree. I wasn't attempting to convey that sentiment so my apologies if I gave that impression.

That's a very enlightened viewpoint. I wasn't just referring to the scenario I outlined, but rather was attempting to use it as an example of a bigger issue. Your suggested response seems to be one of the better ones (certainly the most mature) that I've been given. The "right" I was alluding to was more about being able to speak freely without fear of unfair retribution. I appreciate your response.

My apologies on not articulating myself in proper detail. I am curious if others seem to feel that this is yet another incidence of toxic feminism rearing its ugly head or is this simply a certain demographic of the opposite gender who have had similar experiences which shape their interactions in their responses. It wasn't so much the context or even the content of the postings that I've read but that it seemed to create a palpable atmosphere of intolerance that is very harsh to someone who may…

This terrifies me. I'm going back to earn my second degree in Computer Science and it will be at UCF. I pray to god that even if I keep my head down and mind my own business, I'll have to deal with this shit.

I was told by a therapist that anger itself is not a pathology. It is NOT the problem. She said that anger is a defensive mechanism the body uses to protect itself from pain or discomfort that comes from having to confront the true nature of the problem that is bothering you so much. Men being only allowed to show anger shows that they may truly have multiple issues that need to be confronted and resolved to be mentally healthy...but of course, traditional gender roles teach that they are not al…

I can't believe that all the people (feminists) who bitch about how so many obstacles are keeping women out of STEM are completely overlooking the one simple explanation that makes the most sense: maybe there is just a LARGER portion of men who gravitate toward the STEM fields! Doesn't mean there aren't outstanding women in them, doesn't mean that they are intentionally being excluded. But this bullshit about how there is this huge group of female students out there who are somehow being kept ou…

It was refreshing to read your response. Being a male engineer myself, I witnessed the very same experiences you described although from the other side of the fence. I would posit that even you having no problems getting study partners or tutoring from higher students could be perceived as another passive hostility toward male engineering students. Don't misunderstand, I'm glad you've had those opportunities and I've worked with some very top notch female engineers so I have absolutely no animos…

So you have a solid foundation in the sciences which will serve you well. I got pretty lucky that I'm near the University of Central Florida which has an excellent program. Right now I'm still waiting to matriculate because you have to be a resident for a year to get in state tuition (24K vs 6800) which is a no brainer. But it sucks waiting for awhile.

Not so far to be honest. My background is mechanical engineering so I'm a completely blank slate when it comes to Comp Sci (big part of the reason I'm so excited). I'm just starting out and it's a second bachelors so it starts with a semester or two of light comp sci classes with other b.s. electives. Really would have preferred to go right for a Masters but I would have been so far behind the curve with no comp sci experience that I'm going this way. I was tempted to do what you're doing to aug…

Well, honestly no more than what you would expect. Stay on top of your assignments and don't do the bare minimum when it comes to assignments. Time management is the biggest impact for me personally. When I earned my engineering degree right out of high school, it can be more difficult because you are learning to juggle allot for the first time (in and out of school) which has an impact when you (not you in particular) don't have a few years of life experience. I'm going back at 40 so I'm genuin…

I'm currently earning a second degree in Comp Sci and I can confirm that this is still absolutely alive and well today.

Holy shit....yes. I graduated in 99 with an ME degree and saw the EXACT same dynamic. I watched women get grants, scholarships, and courted by companies simply because they were women. There were WAY more competent male students that were told flat out that they had slim to no chance for these opportunities simply because of diversity initiatives. It was the first time I really saw the ugly truth of how the real world works with respect to gender discrimination going against men and not vice ver…

This is a perfect example of the small bullshit that these SJW feminists latch onto and try to blow out of proportion. They have to do this because feminism is dying and they know it. Equality for both genders isn't dying, but the little extremists that call themselves feminists are alienating everyone with this bullshit including many women. Give me a break lady. You legitimately sound like you are off your meds saying shit like this.

Unfortunately the obesity epidemic has skewed the "norm" as you said but those of us who prefer curvy or voluptuous find the exact same women attractive as you do. The tragedy is that obese women now convince themselves that they fall into that category because of this whole movement and believe me, we don't find them attractive either. It's a shit show to be sure.

Totally. It pisses me off that "voluptuous" has also been corrupted as a euphemism for fat. Don't care how big she is (within reason) but if her middle measurement isn't the lowest number (see hourglass), then it's just plain fat.

Not all women but definitely a sect of hardcore SJWs that do think exactly that. Even though it may seem harsh upon first read through, you're right. They do think EXACTLY that.
