I used to come to this sub and I do suffer from anxiety and depression and can hardly leave my house, I found that coming to this sub made me worse as I think for some people myself included it makes you feel worse and somewhat a warped view. It's not for everybody

It seems to minimise prostate cancer, talking about "adult nap time", Making the dad seem like a child, and making a joke out of it, it's a good cause but and it may just be me, as admittedly I do tend to hate the cancer adverts due to Health Anxiety, but I don't remember Breast Cancer or Ovarian Cancer adverts making jokes about it, they always have a serious approach. (Which is admittedly what makes me uneasy) I get that they are separate organisations but I can't see this being an effective a…

Bet he loved it, probably took advantage of her, he loves sex, where were all these hot mums when I was a 1 year old /s But for real So 8 months home detention for rape/ child abuse, production of child pornography and distributing it... So is that 4 months for rape, 2 for distributing, 2 for creation? That's utterly ridiculous And it was for $300 to buy a laptop so not she didn't even violate him because of needing food for survival! (Not that it makes it any better for the poor boy)

"Gender inequality faced by women" except it appears men face so much inequality we can't have a day to discuss our issues

“Honestly, even if they're supportive, even if they say all the right things, and really want to discuss my job, it makes me feel weird about hooking up with them,” “It's like, ‘Oh, we were just talking about rape, and now we're going to hook up.’ It's just weird.” So you insinuate they are rapists and there's two outcomes: 1) they're not ok with it and leave 2) ignore the warning signs and continue and are interested in the work and now you don't want to have sex with them Seems either way beca…

But did you under the ramifications of it fully about getting her pregnant, being responsible for a child that she may some day ask you to provide money for? And all the implications of having a child?

Men are now under performing because now tests are geared to help women score higher. Also women now earn more than men...

I had this, I was the only boy in class and so she would often lock me into a small closet if I did extra work in free periods whilst the girls could be out in the class as much as they wanted. The teacher also made it uncomfortable for me to befriend any of the girls in the class by always saying I fancied the girl or how we should go out or kiss etc. Regarding my grade she marked my work and would say it was a B/C and then give me hours of improvements and then give me an E, whilst giving the …

Didn't read it all but it's concerning women and aiding stopping gender based domestic abuse, sexual abuse and from the quick glance I saw only concerned women

I'm a little wary as I feel staunch feminists wanting to make a point could find a way to turn it around but as I do appreciate women in my life here goes: My mums awesome has sacrificed a lot for me and in a way still is, kept her sanity when I was growing up and in the last 2 years if it wasn't for her with my anxiety and depression it's likely I may have harmed myself. I've seen people say only mums, sisters, girlfriends get praise well I would say that this is because people's own relationsh…

Badly worded I admit, but I meant that they supposedly wanted pay equality for men and women, well now it appears unbalanced so they should probably start campaigning for men's pay equality - after all feminism is meant to fight for both genders rights

Finally women are earning more than men...now we must start to make them thrive" erm no how about pay/ general equality for men...after all that was the aim

maybe its not ignorance but i'm instead not looking for this kind of news? for what its worth the female politicians i am from the UK so my focus is not on US politics in depth as this. again i'm not familiar with all this but at every workplace there is some conformity (but as i said i'm not famliar with all this) but you say they get criticisms but its telling that i havent but i didnt go searching for this news, but on various news aggregators i got this shadowed, and his apology over shadowe…

i'm sorry i am not being obtuse but i really can't remember the last time i have heard of such a fuss about what a woman was wearing such as a scientist, politician or journalist that it made a massive news story. the only time i hear about what women are wearing is at glamorous media events or adverts selling magazines aimed at women. but if you are talking about in general being mindful of what they wear to make sure they look professional, men have this also and as i have stated previously th…

yes again true, the only solution i can find is that £1 billion project so perhaps he was urged to make himself feel as comfortable and stress free as possible. i do agree however in practice to make it look professional business attire should have been worn, or at least been taken with him just in case afterwards. and thank you, it has been nice especially considering on some subs (including this one) views can be polarised to the extreme in which things can become nasty but its nice to have se…

yet many of the best places to work are allowing more freedom in what people wear/ and making their life at work more enjoyable and stress free, so them offices probably wouldn't care. as i have said in another comment thread, we don't know what was planned if he was meant to be brought into the public eyes at events things change a lot due to circumstances, had he failed we probably wouldn't know who he was and the shirt would remain a non focal point.

i agree it was inappropriate, and whilst yes everyone knows this again we are assuming, that everything went to plan as when nearly any event is going on theres normally things that go wrong or are added to a schedule. for example say it failed, then its unlikely that anyone would have heard about him, he would be wearing his shirt and no one would have cared. i believe the same also that the argument ( if someone wanted to begin one) should be whether it was business attire, not a mens/womens c…

true, but no one knows what was involved in the day, for all we know perhaps he wasn't meant to be seen and was told to wear something comfortable and it was a last minute thing, or maybe he knew all along we really don't know. i don't see it as a statement piece however i associate it in one of two ways: 1) a shirt that you either like/dislike from a friend that you promised to wear in the moment kind of like when you get a present and don't want to upset a person 2) a piece of clothing that yo…

the thing is he probably isn't media trained or used to being in a media/ business setting, perhaps this is just how he dresses day to day, he wanted to be comfortable and for him the biggest news would be the landing, after all you would think "landing something on a comet millions of miles a way would take the front seat in a big way rather than just a shirt he was wearing (which ridiculously over shadowed the event)

I disagree the women that often get judged on what they are wearing are often going to glamorous events in which they know they will be judged (mostly by other women) and dress to that occasion/ or make a statement by what they are wearing. in fact a lot of the women that are in the public eye are given clothes to keep up this appearance, that when they wear something that doesn't fit into this appearance i don't know "Jessica Alba in worn sweat pants" becomes a headline but only for women's mag…

I guess, i didn't look too hard its just when i did i looked at 2-3 sites, and there was hardly any and i mean no discernable mention of men being raped which annoyed me as what really made me think about it was seeing a news article on facebook and again people didnt mention men

Yes i know that's why i was wondering as there is a lot of similarity in the cases, whether the guys thought if using these cases as precedents it would help them in a case if needed? And if it would help women more? Kind of as a mega pussy pass
