Fuck yea you sexy bitch. Power lifting is such a thrill. For your skin its not a cure all BUT you should look into dry brushing and a DIY coffee scrub for your body. My weight fluctuated a lot, and at my goal weight I noticed some cellulite. The two above combined really, really helped. Sorry if that was unsolicited advice but I truly saw great results and wanted to share :)

If you are going to college to get an education and not to meet guys, you are insane, literally insane, delusional, in reality one is never going to happen and the other is going to happen anyway, and you could have gotten both for free at a bookstore. ^ That was hilarious. I started college on partial scholarship in 2007, dropped out when the economy tanked with $0 owed to university. Started a (very small) business and met my sexy, talented, hunky, hilarious, brilliant man at an entrepreneuria…

Not sure if its in your area but there's a service called "class pass," its like 80 bucks a month and you can take all sorts of classes around town - kick boxing, yoga, Pilate's, crossfit etc. I love it! Might be more economical and you can shop gyms a bit.

The good: we got some serious r&r on Saturday, and got busy 3 times. Woooo! I gave the kitchen a good scrub, and think I've perfected his favorite steak marinade The bad: I did no laundry the past five days, the dog needs a bath, and I really need to spring clean my closet. Reeeally. I've also been letting myself feel lonely, which is dumb. He's working a ton and I miss him so bad. We got drinks with his buddy on Friday who said, and I quote "I told my wife that I'd try to wrap up work and be ho…

I know, right? I tell him all the time that I'd rather live in a yurt and eat ramen if it meant seeing him more and knowing he was happier. In theory he LOVES his work. Its gratifying, rewarding and fulfilling for him. However, at this pace, it leaves much to be desired ... Obviously. His end goal is to wrap up this project (another 3-4 months 😥), resume his annoying 70/hr week for a year or two, sell his business and retire eeeeearly, then we can live off my work. Which is flexible and brings m…

Oh my gosh, that stinks, especially since it sounds like it was sprung on you so suddenly. Maybe with your regular weekends visits now you can take a more active role in where he's living :)

Croatia is on our list for next year!! Ahhhh. I agree. It can be hard in the beginning to let things go, but now that I'm well practice I could just kick myself for ever behaving any other way, and am thankful I sorted out most of those kinks before we got together, or at least in the beginning. I find that the more effort I put in to caring for him, the more intangibles I feel I receive and the better I feel about "us." I've also found that any time I want to pick a disagreement its usually bec…

You guys are just like us!!! Once every 3-4 months he can sneak away for three days or so and we do awesome quick trips. At this pace we're trying to retire very early. We're doing cost Rica this summer and I'm so excited!

I know. It's hard not to take it personally. He's come home and snapped a time or two (which is SO not his style). It was so unusual I just went to another room to busy myself because I didn't know what to do. Within a few minutes he came in to hug me "I'm sorry, I just had a long day, etc" I forgave him instantly, obviously, because I know I'd be a nightmare in that situation. Your SOs schedule sounds rough. Is there an end in sight? We dont have much family, especially close. I'd be a cranky m…

Deference is a great way to put it. My SO works like a dog and has no time for minutiae. I make most of our small decisions, and even big ones, concerning home life or even things like vacation these days. I typically say, "any input?" (Whether this is what he wants for dinner or home improvement etc). And more than half the time he will say no. And of course the things he is picky about are totally his call. There's this weird idea like RPW are doormats. No! We are just respectful (and often se…

Wow, what a powerful statement. Thank you for sharing. My mother was heavily involved in my early years. She felt unfulfilled, so my step father gave her money to start a small business. She was brilliant, and it was quickly successful. But for the 8 or so years she ran it during my youth I missed her so dearly and remember her being proud, but crabby. She would give me gas money for older friends to take me and pick me up from school, we had house keepers and ate a lot of takeout, and she misse…

What a great post. My SO always says "happy wife, happy life!" as a bit of a joke. He loves coming home knowing that I'm always in good spirits and ready to brighten him up after a hard day. I just mentioned it the other day, but it fits here to. I really recommend everyone to read the book "happiness is a choice" by Barry Kauffman. Its short but powerful and all about how we choose our outlook and emotions.

Lots of good advice here. You could also try online dating. There's no stigma anymore, IMO as the whole world is social networking. I'd say tinder is a no-go, but there's plenty of good ones. Just make your profile very clear about what you're seeking and be very picky. My best friend met her fiance on one called "its just lunch" and her guy is GREAT!

Best self-help book I have EVER read in my life, and I bet I've read hundreds. Happiness is a choice by Barry Neil Kauffman. I reread it every year. Plus its a quick read!

Baking treats is always a thoughtful gesture. You could look up no knead bread - it costs pennies and only dirties one bowl and one pot. And its nice coming home to the smell of fresh bread :) its very simple, even a kitchen novice will have no trouble. Beyond that, cleaning is always great, like you mentioned. You could also set out some fresh flowers. They smell nice and perk up a home. A pretty candle might be good too.

I feel like I found this sub a couple years ago maybe? But really started implementing things about one year ago. I've improved: -dinner! I have dinner cooked for us every night (except if we go out on a date during the weekend). He loves it. -house keeping. I think I've become a much more mindful house keeper -more cognizant of my moods. I'm definitely not a "moody" person at all, but we can all have bad days. I have gotten better at identifying those moments and addressing it with myself and m…

I don't have kids. But I think the most important lesson I've learned here is not sweating the small stuff. I can't tell you how many friends I've had go nuclear on their SOs over towels on the floor, dishes, whatever. Like HONESTLY, is that towel really worth more than harmony in your relationship!? I think its such a simple thing to implement in life and makes a huge difference.

Omg, such good advice here. Does she have a slow cooker? They are life savers and not expensive. Maybe you could prep her some slow cooker meals and freeze them. Then on a day where she doesn't feel like cooking she can just dump and go!

I loooooove this. I printed out your schedule. I like to think of our place as perpetually "almost guest ready" and always in need of a 15 minute sprucing. Such is life with mastiffs I think :) I am implementing this today! Thank you so much.

That is so sweet!my SO works like a dog and often feels that he "neglects" me because of his schedule. (I totally disagree, but whatever ). The last two times I've gone to get my hair done, when I get to the counter the associate told me it was already taken care of. He had his card put on file. So touching. Now when I get a haircut I'm reminded of my honey love :)))
