Well, brother – know that you were not alone. I know that doesn’t help from a stranger across the country, but if she’s not willing to go to marriage counseling, that should tell you everything. In a way, that is given you the fact pattern that you need to see. It sounds like she is agreeable to status quo. California is a terrible state to get divorced in. However, I’m not sure you can put a price tag on happiness - neither of us is getting any younger.

I get it – how old is your wife? I think mine is going through menopause. Couple that with a later in life ADHD diagnosis and it’s a recipe for disaster. I feel your position 100%. There does come a point where at least in my case, you have to question whether it’s worth staying or not. I am very much feeling mortal – not old, but realizing that I’ve got about 15 more good years. I’m in Georgia. You are 100% right. It becomes a business deal. Sounds like you’re in California, which is no good. You know the shame is that if she would act even halfway civil or like I wasn’t the antichrist I’d be willing to put up with it. Sounds like you’re in the same boat.
