At 37 you need accept that you may be a step parent. Most people this age will already have children, it’s not a negative thing - in fact these men are more likely to know exactly what they want from a relationship x

It’s not to do with weight, there are plenty of men out there who like bigger women. I met and married my husband when I was obese ... it’s how you carry yourself. You seem hung up on the weight thing so that will shine out of you. Eat right and exercise and change your attitude to “I have already lost the weight” it makes a difference. Don’t put your life on hold and wait for a magic number to appear on the scales - live it now. Confidence, flirting, well groomed and a fun attitude works. I’ve …

It changed our relationship dynamic completely. We were both happier and it was almost instant. After the first few days I noticed differences.

When I met my husband I honestly fell head over heels, he was gorgeous, funny, masculine, kind and out of all the boys (I was young) he could drive and had his shit together. I was fat, masculine, small group of friends, funny and “one of the boys”. I told him I liked him and he said he only liked me as a friend. I remained his friend but it took 18 months before he ever looked at me as a woman. I have large shoulders and big feet and a harsh looking face so I’m not exactly standard beautiful. B…

Both myself and my husband are from low income working class families. He comes from a single mother Home as his father left when he was young. My parents stayed together despite an awful marriage. We both have several things in common: Low income, Difficult parental marriages, Both left in childcare and after school care/spending time at grandparents daily due to parents working. We both agreed this life wasn’t for us, if we wanted kids we were doing it different. All this led us to this lifest…

Yes I am, I suffer with eating disorders which means my weight can be underweight one year to obese the next. It’s one part of my life I battle to control

If this is red pill, then I’m not. Pseudoscience nonsense. Anyone who feels this way about themselves I pity them.

I see what you mean. Religion is practically dead here in the uk (especially with people my age and younger) with the exception of Islam. I don’t know a single person who attends church so I suppose it’s difficult for me to tell if there is a link. The BP friends I have tend to all have the feminist, social justice warrior attitude going on - but are non religious like me. They all tend to speak to their husbands like crap ... but that’s another thread.

I get judged for not drinking as well. People get offended easily and assume I’m not drinking specifically to judge them. It says more about them than it does me.

I can only go with my own experience. My husband left home at 19 (with me) he had a mother who worked 24/7 so was very independent. He remains this way. I do lots for him because I don’t work but when I don’t he is capable of taking care of himself. He has bad habits which include hands down pants when he’s lounging around. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, the nose picking seems a bit much lol but I imagine someone would stop this once asked. On the opposite spectrum is my Brother, who is 25,…

Both myself and my husband don’t use social media. I use here but no Facebook, Instagram. My husband uses twitter for work reasons but no personal account. I see it as a positive, people who feel the need to post every aspect of their life on social media for validation don’t have good self esteem/confidence. Being able to just live your life and make memories instead of posting memories is much more attractive in my opinion. I would tell my own daughters it’s a positive thing, who wants a man w…

If you are overweight, buy those pretty clothes there are so many of them out there now. Fake it till you make it, feel feminine and lovely and it will be easier to stick to weight loss plans. I lost 121 lbs in 2009/2010 and this is how I did it. I changed my life Successfully in many ways, I didn’t let being overweight put my life on hold. Be confident, feminine and happy now :-) while you make positive changes to your diet

Actually now I think about it. I was a teenager when I got with my husband, we had nothing. We built everything together, careers, a home etc. All my firsts and all his firsts where experienced together, first car, job, home, partner. He has a good personality, looks and earns a really good salary now. We live in a home we would never even have dreamed off back then. So settling might mean nothing long term :-)

Not sure if it’s a conscious decision is it? Would be interested to know. I can’t imagine ever “settling” with someone who didn’t make me happy etc etc My husband is honestly perfect in my eyes and I genuinely 100% would never find better than him. Maybe other people look at my husband and see otherwise. Edit; my best friend flirts with my husband and has made comments that she wishes her was more like mine. I honestly don’t think I settled. I’ve been with him more than a decade now.

He has the right to negative feelings and moods like everyone else. Because they are inconvenient to you doesn’t matter. Accept something is bothering him and let him work through it in peace. Be a wife, not a mother - you are probably making it worse.

I’ve never read it, so was assuming. I was speaking from a personal stand point. I wouldn’t be submissive to a man who acted like that.

This isn’t red pill. It’s an insecure, abusive sad act. No need for this it’s OTT.

I think this man would fall into one the categories of men you should not surrender to or trust. He is abusive and no woman will ever be good enough in his eyes. Poor woman I hope she finds a way out.

I think if he has been more playful than predatory the outcome might have been different, perhaps not that the young girl would accept his advances, but she might have been able to laugh it off more. She certainly wouldn’t see it as harassment then I’d imagine. I have always disliked anyone, regardless of appearance, being aggressive with “flirting”. I’m lucky I’m happily married as I wouldn’t like to go into the dating game if this was the norm. I see what you mean though, attractive people in …

Hardly, looks have no appeal to me when someone’s personality is creepy. If Brad Pitt came up to me in my place Of work and randomly said “I’d love to see you naked” I’d say “get help”.

I agree, you need more hobbies to replace the old ones. I had similar lifestyle change a few years ago. I joined a gym but only used the exercise aerobic classes. I found two I loved and I go religiously every week and so do lots of other women. We socialise together now and even have Christmas nights out etc. Making new friends with similar goals is a good step.

No one goes to work to take part in mating dances. They go to work to earn money, there is being open and accepting towards Male flirting and advances and then there is sexual harassment.

Not acceptable. Do you have a HR department? I’d go straight to them with a list of encounters which you deemed to be more than “polite flirting”. You don’t need to put up with with men being inappropriate. There is a difference between someone being nice and polite and finding you attractive and a dirty old perv. Good luck.

Personally, when I married my husband I was an overweight, masculine nightmare. I had an abundance of self esteem. I feel I have less now that I’ve lost weight and take care of my appearance more. Not sure how that works, maybe it’s an age thing.

Don’t give up your baby. You are feeling low now but these feelings will pass. Your child will bring you love and happiness and it’s something to look forward to. I’d suggest you move on with your life, if you want to go back home then that’s what to do. You and your baby. Get yourself established again, make a plan and one day you will meet someone.

I see what you mean. I’m by no means fed up of my husband or wanting to leave - the opposite. But maybe he is worried I am. We’ve had a good day today after I told him I’m taking a step back from studying so much and will finish at a later date.

I clean top to bottom everyday, I’m in the UK though and we have much smaller homes than the U.S. I have a four bedroom so takes me around 2 hours because it’s generally clean anyway. I have no clutter and use lots of decorative baskets etc to shove kids toys out of site. Best tip I’d give anyone. If everything has a place the house looks tidy.

Personally, I don’t want multiple partners. This is me being truthful, ask me again in 30 years maybe the answer will be different but for now all I want is my husband. I’ve been lucky enough to find one who is genuinely a decent man though. I used to view cheating differently and I looked at it the same way most people do. He cheats - you leave. unpopular opinion warning However, I watched my parents divorce 10 years ago. I was an adult and living away from home so didn’t have the usual childho…

I disagree with the “don’t care, be busy, be allusive” attitude. Men are people, no one likes to be ignored or have someone play games and pretend not to be interested. There is playing hard to get and there is BEING hard to get. A girl who acts like a lady, is kind, nurturing, thoughtful and caring is hard to get. There isn’t many girls like that left, just read some of the relationship forums on Reddit and you can see the issues women not caring can cause. From personal experience, I’ve been w…

Is there anyway you could take unpaid leave from your work to trial this? Or go part time? It’s hard to make a decision when your entering the unknown so this might make your choice easier. Congratulations to your husband, hope his business continues to be a success. Good luck with your decision.

I have been “at home” now for several years and I have had a torrent of abuse from many people. Those people all have one thing in common ... they are Women. I haven’t had a single negative comment from men. Always find that so strange. My husband loves me being at home and taking care of things, it’s one less thing for him to concern himself with and he always says it’s security for him and the kids to know I’m always there.

Volunteering is always a good idea, doesn’t have to take up your whole break either. I volunteered one day a week for a local charity shop before Christmas and I made some great friends doing it.

Boring is subjective, boring to me might be someone else’s excitement. Usually if someone wants to spend time with you they don’t find you boring. I can’t speak for all men but my husband finds bitchy comments, talking about TV and work boring.

Rather than hint, I’d say something like “it’s our anniversary on .... I want to do something romantic/fun/etc”. You’ve then told him what you want. Whether or not he delivers or replies is up to him, but you’ve given him the opportunity then to make you happy. He can either say “sure plan something for us” or he could take the lead and plan something. The worst that could happen is he does nothing, but it’s unlikely if he wants to make you happy too. I always prefer to state what I want because…
