Cost-Average-Effekt, and yes you are also right, but the exposure of market timing is reduced (also his/her chance for return) but it is more important, that he starts investing, because the timespan is most important.

LOL DWShimoda, did you took the wrong pills? He should buy a diversified ETF like MSCI World + EMERGING MARKETS with low TER and buy every Month a stable sum, so he will be unafectet from the market timing, and even if it crashes, he will buy cheap in this case.
