Join an MMA gym. None of the "sports" on the school team carry much value later in life if you can't make money at them. MMA or some sort of martial art will always have a value. Shit, I go to yoga because all the lifting leads you to being literally "musclebound" (medical term, look it up) and I like to be flexible so that I can do functional things with my strength, like run and Spartan Race/Tough Mudder, stuff like that. I'm jealous, bro. I'm 34 and in decent shape with no injuries limiting me, but I have 2 kids and it limits my time for fun like MMA and lifting. Lifting can give you size. Martial Arts doesn't really do that, but it can get you CUT as all get out. However, MA gives you a confidence that lifting never can. I went active Army at 19. Best decision I ever made. I met awesome people who changed my life. If you aren't going to college or some sort of training for a well-paying career, go into the active military and go that route. Maybe only sign up for 3 years active and then decide at that point if you want to continue active, go reserve or get out altogether.
