So true. Therapists have pre-programmed ideas of what's wrong (often "men") and what will fix it (dump men).

You said she was "dumb". I imagine she knew your opinion.

Travel alone. Best way to face yourself and get over it. I wallowed for 18 years, did therapy, etc. Finally I went abroad alone. It helped me process.

IDK, things could get a lot worse. It sounds like you have a family, and a wife that takes interest in you. What happened? Why do you not feel love for her? You could save yourself hassle by figuring out your own stuff, why you feel how you do, and fixing it if possible. Most repeat behavior patterns, so you might find yourself in the same situation with a new.partner, just poorer and less able to rely on those around you.

I don't have all the answers. I can say for me personally, the answers about what kind of relationship to be in come from how I feel inside/ how I react emotionally to a given situation. Sometimes the best you can do is the best you can do, even if it might not look ideal on paper or in someone else's eyes. As far as kids, I wound up having one via surrogacy outside the US. Fifty-five thousand dollars up front and no custody issues ever.

Legally, probably not cool in this day and age. Functionally, depends on the maturity of the six year old. IMO, people don't allow kids to mature as much as they could.

I read a study. If parents openly fight, staying together leads to worse outcomes for kids. If parents quietly disagree, even unhappily, kids do better when parents stay together.

All human beings act one way when they want something and differently when they don't care. Women have smaller bodies than men and survive by their wits, not physical brawn.

Disagree. Future earnings based on having MD could get included in a settlement. Splitting prior to having the degree could work in your favor.

"First responders" (police, fire, soldiers) in an archetypal way "protect our species survival" by (in principle) providing safety which could preserve women and the ability to create future generations. I never understood the admiration many people have for first responders, but it makes sense when mentally casting them in the role of "protecting species propagation" as opposed to "eating donuts and collecting a fat paycheck". People who most subscribe to a traditional view of men and women als…
