Take the door handle and lock off the door. Get yourself ready for the day even if he's in there.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it. Just be mindful of how often you are doing it and why you are doing it. It can be a slippery slope to unrealistic expectations and addiction.

It shouldn't take 45 minutes in the cast iron if you are letting the steak warm to room temp before cooking which is the ideal method.

The vacation is being canceled. I'm not going to put innocent people at risk. Even without the vacation, is his work still more important than my health and safety?

My husband actually had this issue with his parents. My parents were actually the ones who had to sit him down and have a coming to Jesus discussion that I was now his priority. It was him and I as a team, no longer the nuclear family we were raised from. It also helps if the parents realize and understand the dynamic has also changed. Daughters will always be closer with their moms, and that's fine, but I don't go running to them when my husband and i are fixing things around the house or makin…

I was in a 2 year relationship where I loved the guy and he said he loved me. Once I started pushing marriage or even moving in together, he began pulling away and eventually we broke up. 1 year later I was engaged to the man of my dreams and we are celebrating our 5 year anniversary. Lose the guys who don't want to commit. Your wasting both of your times.

As someone who is staunchly childfree, I would never volunteer to babysit. If someone needed me to in an emergency, I would at the drop of a hat and the kids would be safe and may even have fun. Based on your comments, I'm getting the feeling she actually wants kids, but can't and puts the disdain for children in as s a front. Maybe talk to her and see if that is the case. Most truly happy childfree folks are not that vocal. Especially around parents.

As a female whose husband has many female friends and used to have a very close female (wife of his best friend since she also worked with him for years) it depends on the situation and personalities. The women my husband confides in are women who I would never be friends with. My husband tends to love gossip (dramatic Italian family) and they are very high maintenance women. I am the polar opposite. These are friendships my husband needs and therefore I don't feel threatened. I know that at the…

I've come to the conclusion that I feel loved in my marriage, but I do not feel respected.

Journaling can help. The act of writing down what you are already saying in your head can be therapeutic.

These are all very good points. I've got a lot of thinking to do. I've wanted to try a seperation, but I'm not sure if that's the right course of action.

I think he would benefit personally and professionally reading from TRP and marriedredpill, but it's the complete opposite of how he was raised. I don't know how to broach the subject without crushing him.

He can be loving, but I need more than words of affirmation. He is financially independent. He was furloughed with all that's going on, but he will be going back to work soon. We both make equal salaries.

What attracted me to him was that he was so different from my previous relationships. Educated Financially independent Loving He comes from a very loving family, but they are also very selfish, so that has contributed to how he acts. He really does love me. He just lets these anxieties and frustrations take over. That's why I'm here doing research and trying to better myself. This is kind of the last hail Mary. I can only improve myself and hope he follows.

Your comment now has me thinking even more after there was another incident this morning. We were preparing our grocery list and I was looking in the pantry to see if we needed anything and I accidently dropped a plastic bottle (nothing spilled or exploded, just fell). He immediately asked in a raised critical tone why am I going through the pantry and dropping shit? Old me would have in turn raised my voice and fired back. Today I just said sorry. Here then continued that I shouldn't open the p…

That is something that concerns me. He has apologized a few times, but only when I've gotten so mad that I start crying and lock myself in our room for a few hours. I know that is not the best way to handle having my feelings hurt. I'm hoping with me making these changes and being quick to apologize, he will too. Or he will stop having such rude intense reactions in situations like today. There kid part won't be an issue as we aren't having any.

No exciting story. The dad was allowing the toddler to run up and bang on people's garages. We watched him do it to a few of our neighbors as well.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
