This is why you don't marry unstable women that need work. Just ain't worth it.

You need to get tough and play dirty. The stakes are high, take her for everything.

Fuck her man! She doesn't even like you. You're simping for a woman who couldn't give two shits about you. Stop being so emotional, she's playing you like a fiddle and you're letting her. Put yourself first for once and things will improve. Your happiness is the priority now.

Oh my god, never heard Dr.Carlos Rivera's story before. Fucking tragic. Is there an update on him? Can't seem to find much on Google.

Right! I thought the same exact thing. Always look at the mother, that's the potential future.

No self-respect, codependency and weak mindedness. Fucking nuts hom many men fall for this then cry when it happens again.

This whole post and thread prove a couple of things. Fellas need to look out for themselves more because nobody will do it for you, not even your wife. There are always hints, always. You're just too busy and exhausted to see them. It's 50/50 always, don't let yourself be taken advantage of, ever. Don't put your fucking partner on a pedestal. You don't know what's truly going on in someone's head, not even those closest to you. Edit: More than a couple of points.

The kid is 11 years old. Imagine how fucked in the head this grown woman is. Her ex fiance is a good looking dude as well. Pedo's gonna pedo.

Why don't more men just pay a surrogate if they want kids? If you want kids so bad but don't want a wife.

I doubt she declared it for tax. He should take it all, fuck her. How is she going to prove he did steal it?

Your post is amazing man, especially when seeing so many posts of how men get shafted one way or another nowadays.

I get the feeling so many red flags were ignored and rose tinted glasses were stuck to the heads of everyone commenting here. I don't want to sound like an asshole but these stories are horrifying. Jesus Christ man I hope you fellas are extra careful with choosing your next partners.

I don't understand how you lost? Did you not have a lawyer?

Exactly! Omg my jaw hit the floor when I read that.

So why would you allow them to be permanent house wives in the first place? American men need to understand the dangers of letting their wife's quit work. In the long run they have a lot to lose. Especially if it's a miserable marriage.

There is no logical answer because no logic was used in her decision making process. Her decision is based on irratic and unclear emotionally fueled thoughts built up over time. Her friends probably might have pushed her a little. The best thing you can do now for yourself is calm your mind and get on your A game. Show her the feelings are mutual and this divorce will be a new lease of life for you.

Can I ask, if your ex wife was actively looking outside the marriage, would you have been able to save it at all? Or would have just been delaying the inevitable. I understand your first instinct was to keep your family together, I can't imagine how hard it must have been to deal with that whole situation.

At least you have your sisters by your side.

You were resilient enough not to let what your ex did destroy you as a person. Well done man, I hope more people see your post.

He said he's hired a newish young attorney who's only just beginning but works at an established law firm.
/r/Divorce_Men07/01/24 10:17 PM

Don't you want someone with a bit more experience? I'd be worried with your wife earning more she would hire a shark and you may not get what you want out of the divorce.

Then they have the gall to say men are the problem. Fuck that.

Yeah I feel the same. Him asking for advice is absurd.
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/23 10:37 PM

How many red flags did you ignore? Seems like she's been planning this for a while.
/r/Divorce_Men08/12/23 06:17 PM

Why do family court judges hate men / fathers so much? WTF. You would think a male judge is probably a father and will emphasize but nope.

It will get better. Eventually after a few years this will be a distant memory. Good luck, take care.

Fuck man, hope you're doing better now.
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/23 06:22 PM

Yeah so many people ignore their partners background, hoping they will be different for them. It's really naive and it's sad to see so many men fall for it.
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/23 06:18 PM

Fucking baller! More men need to see this. So many of them wear rose tinted glasses until everything breaks down, then they see who they really married.
/r/Divorce_Men01/11/23 11:07 AM

Men need to stop looking at relationships with rose tinted glasses. Jesus Christ why do so many men let themselves get fucked!?
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 03:14 PM

Did you have friends or family to speak to at the time? Was there nobody to help you see clearly? At least others could learn from your situation.
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 03:11 PM

Stay where you are. Build a good life for yourself and try to meet someone. She moved on, why can't you? The better off you are the better the kids will be when you see them you can treat them. When your kids are older they will be much more understanding when you explain the situation to them.

Were there any red flags at all? Hypothetical question: What happens if you stop paying her? What are the ramifications? Have you thought about faking your own death like in the movies lol Dude run away to a different country, what is she going to do?
/r/Divorce_Men07/09/23 10:37 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
