And what happens when the undeveloped countries become developed and their birth rates drop too? Our current resource draw is doubly unsustainable; it isn't low enough to keep us at equilibrium with the planet long term, but it isn't high enough for us to colonize other planets yet. If it doesn't increase or decrease dramatically, we're going to end up extra screwed when we ruin the planet and fail to escape it.

Not just decreasing; birth rates have already decreased to unsustainable levels. We tend to think of Japan when we think of a birthing crisis, but the reality is that the USA and Europe are experiencing a similar phenomenon. The key difference is that the USA and Europe have their demographics augmented by immigration enough to offset the low birth rate, while Japan is much less welcoming of immigration, which is why they're fucked. If the countries that we rely on for births end up modernizing,…

I'm just saying that there's more substance to the issue than men being selfish.

I might agree with you if the entire western world wasn't in the middle of a birthing crisis. As it stands, demographic issues are much more concerning than traditional men struggling to get laid.

I'd rather date someone in a wheelchair than a single mom. Most disabilities require less accomodations than children.

Yes, but the females of those species don't get pregnant in the same way as species that give birth to live young.

I'm not opposed to abortion, but Men shouldn't be able to infect women with their wretched seed like the xenomorph in Alien. That's exactly how sex is supposed to work. There's millions of years of evolution across the entire animal kingdom that's decided that sex is suppose to do that, as an alternative to laying eggs.

I think you're way overthinking it. The problem isn't the attention, it's that "I wanna raid your tomb" is an awful line. It's the choice of line that's creepy and harassing, not the signaling of attraction.

I disagree that the phenomenon is any different, only the way men assess value. Women assign value by looks/status/game while men assign value by looks/youth/novelty. You say one is a feeling while the other is an action, but I say both are feelings that motivate actions.

Sure, but isn’t that how men work too? The converse is the age-old trope of men leaving their wives for younger women. I don’t see how serial monogamy is some great evil, even if we accept that rampant promiscuity is.

It turns out that I misunderstood hypergamy, conflating it with hypersexuality. However, my point still stands that there’s a huge difference between aggressive hypergamy and lazy hypergamy.

There’s still a huge difference between aggressively and efficiently bouncing from Chads to Chads, and doing so at a leisurely rate of changing Chads every few years. It’s kinda like the difference between drinking on the weekends and killing a handle every night.

I was surprised to find out that you are right, and now the red pill really makes no sense. I get why TRP would complain that women are voracious sluts, but it makes zero sense to complain that they’re rational.

Serial monogamy is not hypergamy. One is a very aggressive approach to raise N-count as efficiently as possible, and one is a much more moderate approach with far less N in the end.

No it is not. If a woman is a serial monogamist, she is NOT successfully leveraging her sexual value to fuck as many Chads as possible. She’s deliberately minimizing her Chad count. Monogamy and hypergamy do not mix. The whole point of the CC is the assertion that women are naturally hypergamous in contrast to the common sentiment that women prefer monogamy.

Why do you think they’re the same people? I think single moms and absent fathers are a problem, and I don’t think men should be allowed to abandon their children. I think such men should be shamed for their dishonor.

Most young people are not cautious In my experience, most young people seem to be overloaded with anxiety.

That's true for some, possibly even many, but some are late bloomers.

I think you’re interpreting the spread I gave to assert that all men are in their prime at 35. What I intended to convey (apparently poorly) was that even the late bloomers are out of their prime by 35. I anticipate most people have about 3-5 prime years. Based on that, my range above suggests that some men peak from 25-28, and others may peak from 32-35. However, I think the distribution for both genders makes peaking at the lower end of each range much more common. I didn’t really go into deta…

I don’t think it can be entirely attributed to naivety, considering how popular ‘teen’ is as a search term on pornhub.

To clarify, I should have put 25-30. I think rather few men manage to retain peak status all the way out to 35.

I think it’s worth noting that the literary version of what you’re prescribing is known as a Byronic Hero, and there’s quite a bit more that goes into it than just being a sad artist. You seem like someone who would be fond of Lord Byron.

...so he can land a record deal and get groupie pussy? She’s basically saying men should channel their emotions and become chart-topping rockstars. It might be unrealistic but it’s not selfish. Do you really wanna try to tell me that guys like Drake and The Weeknd are beta bux?

Last I checked, Trent Reznor is doing quite well for himself. I think it’s quite clear that OP meant that men should try to be successful famous artists.

The problem is that her substance is intended for unsuccessful men but her rhetorical style is intended for successful ones so they don’t line up and the whole thing sort of misses its mark.

I think that’s a bit of a leap. As a man, my interpretation is “if you’re going to be sad, why not turn it into profit?” That’s what men should be doing anyway; resolve your problems and go back to making bank, or harness your problems and use them to make bank. It’s not about entertaining women, it’s about the drive to acquire currency, social or otherwise.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
