This community has really helped me examine my own internalized misogyny and pickme past. I identify myself as liberal but found myself confused in the last several years whenever topics of sex, kinks, etc would come up. Exactly this. I had an ex who would punch holes in walls whenever he would be on the tail-end of a losing argument with me (usually when he was trying to control me). And guess what? It worked. I wouldn’t go anywhere when he would do that because it would scare me into place. I didn’t want to find out what would happen past that point.
