I get your feelings on this, it's not a matter of sexuality though. This is a gender discussion. And this furthers the need for unisex bathrooms/changing rooms for people who don't apply to one gender or the other based on the standards of society.

THIS. Can everyone not understand that regardless of policies, we should be protecting not just cis men and boys, but trans as well? They are part of the male community and should also be treated as such. This teacher had an issue because he saw the student for their genitals. Not their gender expression. Not who they feel they are. If he was uncomfortable, he could have stepped aside to ask another teacher to watch. We should be protecting all children regardless of their gender, anyway.

Most young trans kids cannot begin their medical transition because of parent gatekeeping. This is a situation where maybe a school counselor should be talking with the individual kid and seeing how comfortable they are in their gender expression (outward) and working with them to ease up to expressing it properly. I don't see the trans person as in the wrong. The school should have just taken more measures to protect all of the students. Trans kids have the right to privacy, and that one happened to be bold. This is why unisex locker rooms should be an option as well.

Gay trans-man here.. I'm a bit late to this, but I wanted to say a few words. I care deeply about men's rights and men's health issues because of the men in my life. I grew up being told that Feminism is "the right path" and "how the world wakes up" but that turned against me when I came out. Women in my family treat me badly, and I get a lot of hate from transwomen for respecting men. It's kind of silly, but so many trans people online (mostly transwomen, from what I've seen), tend to be heavil…

I wonder what they do when a cis-passing transman walks in and refuses to be outed? Do they tell them "leave"? Another reason why this doesn't make sense. Most trans people don't want to be outed in public.
