One more reason to keep marriages intactI've read your post on childcare. My comment is that the effects of environment tend to wash out over time, while the influence of genetics becomes more and more dominant as one approaches adulthood, a phenomenon often referred to as "heritability/heritabilities increase with age". As for whether the books address the topic, I'll just dump some quotes. Plomin first: We saw in the previous chapter that shared environmental influence hardly affects personality, mental health or cognitive abilities… | /r/RedPillWomen | 02/06/22 12:39 AM
One more reason to keep marriages intactEnvironment might have a small effect, but certainly not upbringing. And it's a well-established fact. I'd recommend reading Harris' "The Nurture Assumption", or Plomin's "The Genetic Blueprint". | /r/RedPillWomen | 01/06/22 06:03 PM
One more reason to keep marriages intactOut of curiosity, did you have a lot of contact with your father in your childhood? | /r/RedPillWomen | 01/06/22 04:00 PM
| -1 | One more reason to keep marriages intactParents have no influence over their children's personality. It's about genetics - whom one had been conceived by. | /r/RedPillWomen | 01/06/22 03:21 PM |
I’m at a loss and really want to changeYou might want to try loving-kindness meditation. Close your eyes, wish yourself to be secure, safe, happy, healthy, appreciated and/or similar. Then do the same for your husband, your children, the family as a whole, then your 'hood, then your country. You get the pattern. Skipping straight to "doing" the person you want to be nicer towards seems to work for me. I think it helps to wish for things that other person wants, this should develop your compassion. Gratitude journal might help as well… | /r/RedPillWomen | 03/05/22 10:19 PM
