Very ableist expectation. Borne out of desire for perfectionism. Sounds like whoever believes in this is looking to date a mannequin.

It does make you act in a way that may seem inappropriate. I got fired for trying to dance with female staff at one of my previous jobs after I got drunk. I don't know what happened. I don't think I blanked out. 1 beer doesn't usually get me drunk. For that matter, nothing does. I drink on social occasions (1-2 times a year!). Maybe what I did was okay for me but not for the women. But then I was rude to them even before the party so I kinda had it coming. The alcohol definitely played a part th…

Male-oriented spaces? You mean heterosexual dating spaces? I'd argue this post and my comment are generic dating advice. You shouldn't put anyone on a pedestal.

I can see why women won't like this. I love this though. A girl won't feel attracted to you if you are not getting genuinely attracted to her. And logically speaking, you can't/shouldn't be thinking about having sex with "goddesses" or any woman whom you make out to be your goddess. Goddesses are meant to be worshipped and they give you wisdom. You can get that wisdom just by being their friend too. But if you are after a meaningful relationship with her (one that involves sex), don't make her y…

Go out with an intention of enjoying a setting because you love it and use that as a cushion of comfort for confidence. I love Tennis so watching a Tennis match in the stadium would make me much happier. And I could use that confidence in approaching women that fancy me. Of course, I have to not be a creep about it but the bone-freezing fear of rejection would be much more bearable if I am on a Tennis court (playing or watching a match) than I was out in a mall. Of course, my comfort level with …

This feels in the same vein as "don't approach women at X place because they're there to finish Y activity". In fact, it seems like a direct response to that post. It's still based in the assumption that "all guys are creeps and I am scared". Black and white advice to dating is harmful. If she has a boyfriend, she can say so. She's not a victim. If we tell people not to approach, you are taking away their willingness to try. If she has a boyfriend and still smiles and doesn't tell the that she h…

I think we should not be reactive in this situation. I understand your pain. But if we react, there'd be no difference between us and incels. So keep trying bud. Let's not be disappointed by things not in our control.

I am no expert in social skills myself. I see the world from a broader perspective of systems so social systems are an intriguing mystery to me. Find what you love to talk about and talk about it in a way that brings in positive experiences. As cliché as it gets, find groups around people around you. Take social media for example. So many groups out there. Or r/socialskills if you love the confines of Reddit. Learn from experiences. And don't discourage yourself when you make a mistake I have re…

Solid post. I think I am your target audience so I'll just put in a comment from a larger perspective of socializing and not just dating. I am recovering "socially inept" person who has recently gained a fair bit of confidence after therapy. If you have privilege, you will create boundaries that seem unrealistic. "Don't ask me out in a gym or a library" It means you have lots of opportunity to meet someone outside of these circles. Maybe on apps or different social circles Which is fair and very…

Have a professional shirtless session and be done with it. Don't do stuff that is common. Make it stand out. Once that is done, never take of your shirt again. Let that mystery be 😃

I didn't condone harrassment. I don't condone harrassment. Check other comments. And even on this thread I have mentioned repeatedly that I don't support all of this shit. And by misquoting me, you are engaging in targeted harrassment. You are dumb if you cannot read someone's comments or see the nuance in someone's viewpoint who doesn't agree with you. You are ESPECIALLY DUMBER if you actually believe EVERYONE IN THE SUBREDDIT should agree with you. I can see this second option is true for you …

Women like it. It works. You feel disrespected doesn't mean others do. Women like to be teased playfully. Especially by the guys they are attracted to. You don't know how single guys struggle to avoid friendzone with girls they like. I don't agree with many things he said. It sounds dated advice for teenagers but at the same time, this seems more effective than advice I have seen female dating coaches for men give. You seem to think that only women are qualified to give advice on dating women. Y…

I don't agree with this. Touch them inappropriately only if you are gay. Or you want her to treat you like a gay friend. Respect physical boundaries.

I am bisexual. Some of these tricks would work on me. Maybe not all, maybe they'd work on someone else. Although a lot of this advice sounds dated too but I wouldn't be surprised if they worked. Respecting women doesn't mean respecting how they're spoken about in the world. Not everyone is a feminist. Women need to stop kidding themselves about it.
