I never said it didn’t, but the percentage in which that likelihood increases varies wildly depending on the individual and how they care for themselves, genetics etc. The original commenter I replied to is acting like all 60 year olds belong in nursing homes which is just absurd.

Unexpected health events like that can happen to anyone at anytime tho, regardless of age. I had a friend who suffered a massive heart attack at 23 and died unexpectedly. My dad is 70 and my mom is 75 and they are both still fully independent, even tho my dad has RA and has had cancer in the past.

Really? Cause you sound like a child.

No kiddo, you didn’t strike a nerve. I’m just pointing out how naive and ignorant you sound. Also no idea what you’re alluding to in that 2nd sentence.

Well you know what they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Again, idk what world you live in where the average 60 year old needs a caretaker.

I wasn’t asking for your opinion on my relationship buddy…Just pointing out some of your assumptions are very ignorant and small minded.

That’s is such a jaded take. What world do you live in where women are “celebrated” for divorce? Also, if you’re not willing to care for your partner, you shouldn’t get fucking married to begin with, regardless of age gap or not. My mother became my father’s caretaker and he is 5 years younger than her. I’m the younger partner in an AGR and I’ll be with my husband til one of us passes away. I truly can’t imagine leaving him if his health got poor. This just reads like you hate AGRs and you’re gr…

I’m a woman in my 30s and my husband is almost 61. He does NOT need me to take care of him. He is very active and will be self sufficient for decades to come I’d say. If you need a caretaker at 60 you’ve either seriously abused your body, or have the world’s worst genetics. I’m also not after his wallet btw

I can assure you it is.

The reason we’re together is a lot more than just looks, I don’t think it really matters how old either of us are or what we look like lol. So…yes?

I’m 32 and my husband is 60. Granted he looks closer to 50 than his actual age, but irl the reactions we get are very positive. It’s a lot easier to judge and hate generalized group of people online than pass judgement on real people face to face (this goes for a lot of things but AGRs included). I don’t really get too pressed over the hate online, most of the people who judge us are deeply unhappy anyways.

I’m in an AGR with a big gap (almost 30yrs). In my experience, the opposition to them is almost entirely exclusive to the chronically online. Most people irl don’t really give a shit. We’ve only ever had two people be rude in person and both of them were miserable seeming middle aged women. The most common reaction we get is how perfect for each other we are. A lot of the opposition online comes from young incel type dudes who are clearly just jealous that a man my husband’s age can get a girl m…

Don’t let my terrible experience dissuade you - I have since remarried to someone who is the love of my life. I had no business being married at all to my first husband, we got pressured into it by his religious family.

I’m not insulting you, I’m giving you the most logical answer to your question. Just saying, I’ve never heard a hot guy complain about this before.

Yeah, I feel sure you have hot girls at your feet begging you to marry them. But you settle for the mid ones instead. Totally makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 07:38 PM

Ditto, OP is greatly overestimating his own hotness it seems.

Maybe the don’t, maybe that’s just their excuse, lol

They’re making you put effort into it because they’re just not that into you.

Sounds like the hot girls just aren’t into you. Maybe the mid girls jump into bed with you because you’re also mid.

LOL okay buddy. Good luck

If your wife is so low value to you, why did you marry her? Says a lot more about your desperation and poor standards than it does your wife. Maybe you can only get such low value women because you’re a low value man?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 04:02 PM

And I don’t understand the psychology of desperate, horny men who feel like sticking their dicks into other women behind their wife’s back is their god given right, when they could just put effort into I don’t know, pleasing their wife so she actually wants them, instead. But here we are. Yes, he was abusive.

Marriage is a legal contract; generally with legal contracts the terms need to be discussed with both parties first - why is this an exception?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 03:40 PM

That checks out I’d say. I hope he’s honest with his spouse!

I’m gonna guess OP has never been married and doesn’t realize how poorly that would go over in most marriages and would likely end in divorce anyways lol This is such a chronically online take

So I guess only men have the right to do it behind their partner’s back? He would have beat the shit out of me if I had told him that, btw.

So when my ex husband refused to have sex with me because he was a porn addict who preferred his own hand, does that mean it was okay for me to fuck other guys behind is back?

Great, now name 30 women that are actual real people and not celebrities lmao

Actually no, I’m just refuting the claim made that women started it.

Jokes on you, I think all people, male and female, are generally trash. Please cite examples of what specific women made it an insult.

I never said I did. I just said many virgins are virgins because they’re creepy and weird. That’s the issue, not the fact they’re virgins. I dated a guy who was a virgin when he was in his mid 20s. I clearly don’t have anything against virginity itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 06:24 PM

Yeah those things are totally the same. Please give me examples of where straight men have been brutally murdered for being virgins like gay people have. I’ll wait.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 06:23 PM

Yes, because men made it an insult. Y’all’s comprehension skills are in the negatives.

I’m not a femcel, I am happily married (to a man!) and sexually active, cool to see that you have nothing to fall back on tho so you resort to the personal insults you literally cry about when they’re used on men.

Name 30 women who did…

Like I said to someone else women generally only insult virgins not because they’re virgins, but because they’re virgins because they’re creepy, weird, insufferable, etc. men don’t care about those things, but they do care about not getting laid, naturally we want to hit y’all where it hurts.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 05:15 PM

To answer your first question - easy, because it would frankly be stupid and irrational to have offspring and dedicate your life to someone who could walk away from you at the drop of a hat with zero consequences. Especially as a woman. Why would I risk my life bearing children for a man who’s not willing to commit to me and share his life with me?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 04:54 PM

I hate to break it to you, women don’t treat virgins poorly because they’re virgins, it’s that being older virgins generally correlates with being insufferable and creepy. They just use the virginity/incel as an insult because they know it will hurt. Men don’t care about being creepy or cringe but they do care about not getting laid. One of my most serious relationships was with a mid 20s virgin but he was a decent, respectful person. I’ve only seen women treat male virgins poorly who were just …

I’m not saying no woman ever has cared, but on average, men care WAY more. I’ve never known a single woman who gave two shits about anything OP was going on about. Also, I’m a woman myself.

Ah yes, you’ve clearly spent lots of time around women picking their brains /s

I’m gonna hold you hand when I say this, men turned them into insults, NOT women.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 04:23 PM

I think you mean it goes against YOUR nature. If it went against human nature, it wouldn’t have been commonplace for as long as it has. If by “opting out” you mean divorce…not all divorces are nastyHowever, most legal contracts have unpleasant repercussions if you break them, that’s the point of contracts. That’s kind of why they exist. Since all you have to lean on is personal anecdotes, I have one for you - I have a family member who got sued for breaking a contract with his employer. Is that …

I can assure you, the only people who care about how much casual sex a guy is having is other men, lol

I never implied how common it was or wasn’t. If you inferred something I didn’t clearly state, that’s on you. Just because a lot of people choose to get married when they shouldn’t and it ends in divorce, does not mean the entire establishment of marriage is faulty, that would be like saying because there are lots of poor drivers who cause accidents then EVERYONE should just stop driving, you’re throwing the baby out with the bath water which is, again, incredibly naive. A legal contract binding…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 03:52 PM

Ah okay, so let’s avoid one legal contract by forming…another legal contract! Great idea.

when you figure out a way to change laws/society where marriage is no longer legally beneficial, let me know. My parents are divorced too. Sucks about your parents but again, doesn’t mean ALL marriages fail, or that there’s not very real legal and societal reasons where marriage is beneficial and needed. Personally I like being seen as a cohesive unit with my spouse, both legally and culturally, but to each their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 03:18 PM
3

Please show me where I said it wasn’t. Doesn’t change the fact that there is a very valid reason for marriage in our society.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 03:11 PM

One, just because your parents marriage crashed and burned, doesn’t mean all marriages will or do. You can’t judge an entire concept based on one couple’s experience which sounds like exactly what you’re doing here. Two, you’ll see the benefit when you have a long term partner and they have a medical crisis and are hospitalized OR they pass away and you suddenly have zero legal sway (and can’t even see them in some cases) because you’re not married. This is such a naive take

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
