safety slap That's the funniest thing I've read all night. 'I could have left the situation to be safe, but I thought it'd be safer to slap my wife. I need to maintain contact w/ her, your honor, to continue the threat of keeping us safe.'

Ever it has been & ever it shall be. Men being physically stronger in general than women isn't enough for them; they have to undermine any advantage they suspect women have to ensure complete control.

Whatever you have to tell yourself. It doesn't matter, b/c he hit her, he got arrested & now he has a no-contact order so he cannot hit her again. He's stronger than her & if he's willing to hit her, he's also likely to strangle her, that's why courts issue no-contact order. I hope she buys a gun for self-protection.

I was going to respond to you, but then I looked at your post history. This character you're workshopping comes off as unrealistically abrasive. No one in real life would even tolerate being in the same room w/ them, much less a relationship w/ them. Try to add some more human dimensions to him & then people might be interested to read what they write or hear what they say. Good luck, have fun!

That these orders aren't issued w/o a reason.

You committed a crime. No one controls you but you, that's how we're expected to act as adults.

Yes, when someone's arrested for domestic violence. You committed domestic violence. You were arrested for it, as a consequence of having committed a crime.

Courts don't issue no-contact orders for no reason, especially in a state like Iowa. How little you must think of the intelligence of the men in this sub to come here for sympathy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
