I DON’T WANT TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT!!! My God, dude, you are so persistent! If you read the last paragraph, then why are you still thinking that I will not budge on my beliefs, or that I want you to budge?!? I am simply saying MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS based on me PRECONCEIVED BIASES!!! It’s not like I’m not open to changing my belief!!!

Ok, bit of a misunderstanding. I am NOT a pure utilitarian. Anyone who is is a sociopath. The thing is, this context was purely 100% logical, and not at all ethical. I can explain to you why utilitarianism is immoral ETHICALLY, but would struggle to do so logically. Because I was arguing via the lens of pure logic, I disregarded all concern of ethics for that portion of the argument. So yes, by that same logic, women are just here to bear children. But I don’t believe that, because I’m not a uti…

Unless you’re saying that men should naturally have more civic responsibilities on us, which either means men’s lives and freedom are of lesser value than women’s or that men are just superior beings to women. I can’t agree to either of those. Absolutely not. I am just saying that in some aspects of life, men are better suited to perform, and in some aspects of life, women are better suited to perform. I am mostly a pro gender roles person, as long as the gender roles are positive.

Did you even read the last paragraph man? These are my first impressions. I have preconceived biases too, you know, and calling them poorly worded satire sure as hell doesn’t help.

I don’t want to start an argument, but as I said, I believe in chivalry. There are three ways of justifying this to you. These are through the logos, pathos, and ethos. Each one has it’s own argument, some stronger than others, but different people respond to each style differently, so I will present all three. LOGOS: Men, on average, are built to be stronger for women, so from a purely utilitarian perspective, it is the man’s job to protect the civilization, and therefore, women. When the pro-c…

Wrote this in about 5 minutes, because I wanted everything in this piece to be first impressions only, so sorry if this seemed rushed. Basically the male honor part was when he was saying that men go and die heroically in combat, and what do they earn other than honor? I don’t see that as a bad thing, and feel that it is mens’ duty to serve our country (coming from a man). I doubt this opinion is popular on this sub, because you all believe in pure gender equality (if I’m not mistaken), but I pe…

I'm sorry, man. This makes me 0/2 on calling bullshit. Bring the dislikes, that is the risk that you take when you call bullshit. I believe you, I just took a gamble and thought that maybe you would end up doing yourself in by deleting the posts or something. I have been trying to call bullshit on SOMEONE just because I'm a moron. I fucked up. Also, did you really smoke pot with Gabriel Iglacious? That sounds cool af. Props man, you win. u/sycophantasy : 1 , u/hawkeyeblock : 0.

Really? And that's not the first famous person that you have run into! >Gabriel Iglacious toured our college town. He showed up to Perkins at like 2AM while we were eating there after >his show that night. Shot the shit with him, shared a bowl. You had that in your post history. Also, according to https://www.setlist.fm/stats/concert-map/macklemore-and-ryan-lewis-3db0107.html?tour=63d2da0f, Macklemore hasn't performed in Iowa in recent history. You do live in Iowa, right? Or where you lying on t…

Well said. I have yet to find any opinion of his that I would actually be able to take him on, and this is coming from a right-leaning centrist.

First off: NO, this is not my list. ALL credit goes to the person in the original link. Second: NO, what she is saying is that female sexuality is appraised in this culture. Don't try to pull any "I'm offended" shit. You would understand that if you read through the rest.

Ok, I didn't come up with the term systemic oppression, as it has been used in politics and economics for decades upon decades. Systemic oppression is not self-serving, self-referential, postmodernist, fact-free, fake, or any other buzz words that you choose to throw at me. I'm on your side here, so please don't be an asshole about it. Truly, we are on the same side. As for your second point, non-systemic oppression includes things like socioeconomic oppression, economic oppression, majoritarian…

I 100% agree. Women are definitely NOT oppressed, systemically or socioeconomically. We are together on that one. And there are rights that women have that men don't, and I would consider that systemic oppression. I have no doubt that men are socioeconomically oppressed, as well as systemically repressed, and I am beginning to understand the systemic oppression, but it is definitely not as prominent as the formers.

Thanks. Make sure to go give your appreciation to the author in the first link. She made all of these, and she is very helpful.

Thant you for your insight. I was looking for help and you helped, thank you. As for my statement on systemic oppression, I was talking about most issues. I agree that men are systemically REpressed, but I am still looking to understand the oppression issue, so your points are very helpful. Thank you so much, man.

Ok, I was just trying to get insight. I do appreciate your help, but please don't pull a feminist by telling me to be quiet because you disagree with me. Systemic oppression is a system that inheritly benefits one group over another. Women are favored in family court, so you could consider that systemic oppression, but I would consider the oppression of men as systemic REpression, or the silencing of things that people disagree with. That was my point.

NO. They were, then came 1st wave feminism, then 2nd wave feminism, and then they were equal, and then viewed as superior. Then came the cancerous 3rd wave feminism which tries to get rid of "toxic masculinity" and to elevate beta males. Women are NOT systemically opressed. Thank you for your insight! It is much appreciated as I attempt to work through this issue.

I have been doing some research, and I am thankful that rather that just criticizing me, you were open to foreign opinion. You are the hero that Earth needs, not the one it deserves. Having done some research, I do agree that "toxic masculinity" and the "alpha male" concepts, as well as other healthy male concepts are being routinely repressed, and am with you on that. This post is really helping me understand this. Thank you.

Good point. I wasn't trying to lecture you on how to present these issues, I was just trying to understand the methodology behind it. Having done some research, men are more oppressed (and repressed) than I initially expected. Wow! Thank you so much for your help, as it is much appreciated.

Very, VERY well said. Thank you so much. After having done some more research, your point is very helpful and much appreciated. You are very helpful.

Alright. So I have gotten a lot of help on this. Thank you so much. I have been doing some research, and I think that I'm starting to agree with you all. I didn't expect such harshness, as I was just trying to understand this issue some more. I still don't think that men are systemically oppressed in most issues (with the exception of family court favoring women), but I am open to changing my mind! I really am working on this issue. Thank you all so much. As for the part where I talked about pos…

I expect a man to ask me to marry me and suffer the potential risk of rejection. If I lie it’s because I’m a victim of a male dominated society forced into difficult circumstances and not because I’m a bad person. If my boyfriend sabotages a condom he can pay me child support for the next 20 years. If I secretly don’t take my birth control my boyfriend can pay me child support for the next 20 years. If I’m uncomfortable exercising around men I can demand a female only gym be made for women. If a…

https://mensresistance.wordpress.com/female-privilege-checklist/ As a response to the feminist “Male Privilege Checklist” I’m going to codify the privileges that most if not all females enjoy. From an early age the opposite sex will be instructed never to hit me but I may not be given the same instructions. However, should I strike males I can expect not to be hit back and any social penalties that occur from my actions will actually fall on the male. If I’m not smart, but pretty, I can marry an…
