How much of this is due to the clam culture of Human Resources? HR women are the most useless people on the planet. Alternatively, men in "HR"—technical recruiting, specifically—from my experience, are far more competent. I know when I've interviewed with guys that I haven't had to put on the confident-bordering-on-arrogant persona. It's the opposite with HR women, and they tend to eat it up acts entirely.
