Good question. I would say this is an MRA issue for two reasons. His comment wouldn't have been taken so seriously had he been a woman. and He would have been far less likely to be raped in prison. So, being a man directly led to serious negative consequences, which wouldn't have otherwise have happened.

Wow, that's some of the saddest and most pathetic behavior I've heard of, but no surprise considering who SRS is. I don't have the creativity or time to come up with such a scheme. My creativity is directed towards actually being a productive business owner, something the SRS folks won't ever be!

Feminism is extremely diverse. Everyone from Sarah Palin to Srsers call themselves "feminists" so by this point I'd say the word is almost undefineable. I support equal rights, pay, respect, and safe spaces for women and men. So I suppose in a sense you could call me a "feminist". I would never let the shrill bigots of srs define feminism for me.

To be fair, I've always shit all over SRS. Some people think srs and mr are different sides of the same shitty coin, but it's a false equivelence. MR is so much more decent that there is no comparison at all.

Yea, there was some truly hideous shit in there. The most upsetting thing about a lot of those stories is that no one in those men's lives gave a shit. Also, I NEVER would have imagined this happening to adult men as often as it apparently does, and the terrible social consequences that typically follow.

This might sound flippant, but I don't really plan to do anything. I'm no activist, and honestly when I posted this I was about as upset as I've ever been on the internet. However, next time anyone mentions this issue in "real life", or if I hear feminists talking shit about "rape culture", I'll certainly have some ammo to hit back at them. This is how real change starts though, not with a few screaming activists, but with a silent majority slowly waking up to an issue.

It wasn't a thread in MR, it was in askreddit I think, about men being raped. Some of the stories were about men raping men, but a damn large nunber of them were women-on-men and they were terrifying. I guess I shouldn't assume anything about anyone. Last night I was so appalled over that thread that I clicked around a bit and found videos of MRA's and whatnot, and the impression I got was that they are mostly very mild-mannered guys, quiet, keeping to themselves, etc etc, but obviously no stere…
