Unfortunately it doesn’t have so much to do with the thickness of the heel itself, but the fact that when you’re wearing heels, you’re spending an extended amount of time “off-balance”. I had actually never heard of it affecting feet. I had heard about it messing up your back, knees, lower leg muscles... If Kathpoes is a dancer, all these things are incredibly important. Here’s an article, because I feel like I’m not expressing myself well rn https://www.hackensackmeridianhealth.org/HealthU/2019…

Something extremely similar happened to my friend this year. I’m glad you’re here. She wouldn’t be open to FDS at all, I feel. :/

I’ve been this manic friend. Very similar to what you describe, and in my case it was a cycle. I think you’re doing the right thing, to be honest. Let her come to you if and when she’s ready and more healthy, but other than that you have to take care of your own health and life first, especially since you did try to put in effort at first. It might take her years to “snap out of it” and it’s not necessary for more than one person to be wasting years from her life.

The better solution is to start teaching kids critical thinking and better reasoning skills. Yes! Media studies or whatever they call it now needs to be much more widespread.

Extremely true and a huge signal to me that I’m not a HVW yet. I still have to unlearn my people-pleasing habits. I find it can be so subtle sometimes. I’ll catch myself listening to a guy and laughing and smiling at everything he says and this moment of realization will just come—“WHY?” There’s a fine line between being polite and sociable and fawning, but it’s there and it’s important.

I’m not sure if i agree. The context of every family varies so much from one to another. You can have households at the same income level and the same neighbourhood with different results. One daughter gets raised by a SAH dad, she’s an only child, randomly suffers very little comments throughout life related to her being female — so she doesn’t relate to anything mentioning sexism, feminism etc. and finds feminists annoying. doesn’t understand it at all. Then next door you can have a daughter r…

Stupid little boy. So much potential, but potential is just that. This hits me especially hard. I feel this was my lesson this year. Went through something incredibly stupid and then found out about FDS a little while after. Potential is not reality. Potential is a dream, a puff of smoke. Those of us who have been daydreaming heavily all our lives need wake-up calls like FDS.

It is absolutely an addiction — and so can internet or social media be. Plenty of writing and research exists on the topic, but I still get laughed at when I assert this. I also don’t get taken seriously when I say that past a certain age, I find gaming unattractive. I find it childish. I’m a millenial, have struggled with addiction including the ones I mentioned and am working on myself — but people just laugh it off. As though I’m exaggerating. It’s just so ingrained in society so nobody sees …

I relate to what you’re saying. It can be incredibly frustrating, and personally I think it’s even more so for tomboys. I’m a tomboy too — well, most of the time. ;) You will not only “learn to cope“ but learn instead to just love being you and doing what you like. Read the handbook and the books suggested in the reading list — pick out what applies to you and leave the rest (ie I’m reading a book from the list and the author says something like “men like french manicures” and i’m like “i don’t …

I hear you. And in the end... we don’t need to waste time analyzing this guy. ;) But just fyi — remember that addiction can be addiction TO anything. It’s more a description of what’s happened in your brain. It can be substances of any kind or behaviour of any kind. I recommend reading more about it, it can be pretty interesting and help in multiple ways even if you don’t suffer from it yourself.

I’ve seen it happen to myself as well as others, so in a way it’s a bias of mine to just see it everywhere. But it’s incredible how it doesn’t matter exactly what it is you’re addicted to — heroin, video games, social media, corn pops, licking windows, making piles of books on your floor, doing squats idgaf — the pattern, 99.999% of the time, resembles this.

They hardly ever want therapy, especially if they have girlfriends and female friends they can unload on. They might mention they tried it once for a while and then once you're in the "mask falling off" stage and you tell them they need to start going again you get shit like "idk I didn't feel like it helped much".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/10/20 07:45 PM

Tbh I think many of them believe it's something we like doing (listening to the troubles of others) I don't do this because I like it and it makes me feel good. I do this when I care about someone and want to make them feel better. If they do it every time they talk to me, they're taking advantage of my kindness. They are taking my offer to listen for granted. I don't put up with that anymore.

BAHAHA great picture! Even now, though. I’d group every guy you named into a category of his own, not even in those two groupings! (And my own tastes are so particular, I don’t find any of them attractive in the romantic sense.)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/10/20 01:26 AM
13

So true. That cliché about “in the eye of the beholder” is pretty accurate. Crazy the amount of times I’ve disagreed with others on what I consider beautiful/who I consider attractive, or have witnessed other disagree among themselves. Societal pressure and culture accounts for some of what we consider beautiful, but I feel like many people grow out of it to a certain extent, especially as they grow themselves and learn to be more secure in their own tastes.

Like lets be real, allowing girls to alter their uniforms to be more revealing isn't really a win in my eyes. These girls have been brainwashed to compete for the male gaze and are pursuing shorter skirts as a result, and surprise surprise the boys are in on it. Bingo.

Exactly. I feel like you answered your own question, StudentNo. “This has happened three times now and makes me think I should not have male friends, as males simply cannot see a female as just a friend.” You can be friendly/civil but i’ve found that trying to be actual friends and confiding in each other is a useless effort.

All i’m trying to say is (1) everyone has their little weird beliefs or lapses in critical thinking, whether it’s astrology or something else (2) things that were a part of culture for a long time tend to take a long time to go away

- Keeping it trimmed is the way to go, imo. “Natural, but neater” is what I like for both me and others, male or female. - I find it looks strange for adults to be completely bare down there. People are free to do it, but it’s not my thing. Nor is full untrimmed growth though. It’s all up to taste and yes, I think being a porn addict in the year 2020 does very much affect one‘s tastes. - Whenever I hear or read someone go “completely bare because I hate the hairs in my mouth”, I find it hard to …

I agree. I apologize that my comment was unclear. I don't think this place is to "hate men" at all. I just think people are joining without informing themselves of what this place actually is, and then posting their shitty posts/comments. They probably hear about it in the first place from some guy complaining about it and then come here and can't be arsed to inform themselves.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 04:05 AM

Yes, I think people are just coming here as a place to post 'general man-hate memes', whether these memes are actually FDS or not. But it's their loss. It's made clear by the mods that the handbook is required reading and that if you give the impression of not having it read it, you will be banned. This is written all over the place.

Hmmm. This one ain't working for me. I can't put my finger on it. - All of these are positive stereotypes, I feel, because they're associated with men? And are seen as "wow look at how capable men are, able to do all these useful manly things! So strong! So clever!" - Whereas "shut up and make me a sandwich" or "get back to the kitchen" is pretty much the only one used against women and is used in the tone of "this is the ONLY thing you're good for". - So many men don't know how to do these thin…

Same, I'm pretty centrist, but as with everything we can't take people's word for it I guess

His approach is to try to trick her with charm and then later reveal the shitshow that is his pathetic life. I need this framed so I remember it. I fall into this trap all the time, whether it be for romantic relationships or friendships. Most recently happened last month. The entire process happens so fast in hindsight too... I’m too old to be this gullible, smh at myself.
