I think this f****r should be sent to the front lines. He evidently cares enough.

How the hell will an ethno-nationalist party help men's rights? They will still parrot misandrist lines, but only directed towards men of different backgrounds.

It's insane how difficult it is for society to create gender neutral policies. Jess Phillips is honestly a scumbag. Why can't she just tackle violence in general? Oh, of course. She hates men yet still has her position. In fact her hatred of men is encouraged. Disgusting.

Thanks, it's a shame that ideological bias gets in the way of politicians being able to engage with clear statistics.

Could you link the article please? I intend to use this when contacting my local MP about this issue. Cheers.

I bet if you made an argument about all the good men have done in the world, like you know, build society and propel the human species forward, they would then start whining about how women are oppressed and 'equality'. But of course when it's something bad about men they actively enjoying chatting rubbish. Women like this do not deserve to be respected.

You do realize men make up around 80% of people who are murdered?. The reality is people are more likely to be sympathetic towards women and prioritize their safety. Female privilege being utilized in the name of 'equality'.

Complete rubbish. Men's rights is not in response to feminism, it merely highlights societal biases against men but unfortunately it often happens to be feminists that perpetuate those biases.

Belarus, Russia and Ukraine have the biggest life expectancy gap between men and women of roughly around 10 years. A lot of this is due to alcoholism amongst men and the fall of industry in those countries since Soviet times. Russia also has a very high rate of suicide with men being over 5 times more likely to commit suicide. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much help for men's mental health in those countries.

I should probably mention the use of sarcasm when using the apostrophes around ‘better men’, for those who don’t understand it... Not better men, just a version of men that’s more easily exploitable.

See the use of an apostrophe?. It’s not literal, it’s sarcasm. Tradcons/feminists and those with a sexist agenda want men to be ‘better’ but for their own exploitation.

That makes a lot of sense and I agree, but I think it's important to point something out for what it is. Simply implying something without breaking it down further often doesn't help, although I understand both words can be taken out of context. I have edited my original post.

Damn what scumbags. Nothing but disgust I have for them. What's even sadder is the amount of people that perpetuate those beliefs and put others who stand up against them down. When using terms like gynocentrism and disposability, I'm not saying them in a literal sense, I'm ultimately using those terms to describe how sexists see men. It’s something that people need to stand up against, I'm not buying into their hate filled ideology. At least it gives me more motivation to advocate for men.

I'm not affirming that this is 'toxic', hence why the quotation mark. I'm stating it from a cause vs effect point of view. It's easy for people to criticise it but said same people expect men to be more masculine when it suits them. Perhaps the term burden isn't right.

MRA's do not imply men are disposable, they imply society tries to see men as disposable. I don't understand why you think male advocates perpetuate this notion. Certain tradcons may but I don't really consider them MRA's in the first place.

To be honest, it's somewhere in between. Men and women shouldn't have conform to gender roles, but are ultimately different. I do believe in a more 'gender neutral' culture when implementing laws and societal standards, but I would expect men and women to still act different based on biological factors.

Funny how who made this article tried to deflect the narrative by implying 'men started wars therefore it's their fault'. No, it isn't men's fault. It's a select few assholes in the government. Granted, most of them are men (some are also women), but that doesn't mean men are collectively the problem. *Sigh*

Interesting point. Funny how women by default are viewed as civilians where as men by default are viewed as aggressors.

Men (die) = good, women (die) = bad. That is sexist. More people should 'whine' about that.

Point I'm making is the media would rather focus on the volunteers without mentioning the fact men aren't by law able to leave. I'm not making this post to discredit the brave men (and women) who are fighting. Just saying the media would rather expect men to conform when shit hits the fan but when all is normal they're evil oppressors again (even though their lives are seen as more disposable).

One's responsibilities should be dictated by themselves first and foremost, regardless of gender. Good luck dying in some bullshit war your government forces you to fight.

This sub is meant to talk about standing up for issues men face in society. From my perspective, if you think it's a man's duty to die, you're sexist. Why do you think that. Do you think men are more disposable?. I find it funny how you call me a pussy despite the fact that you're willing to DIE because you're man. I'd rather be a pussy than a moron. One moment men are villainized, the next moment they are sent to die, seen as disposable second class citizens. To be quite frank, it's my duty to …

While I can understand this, the bigger problem is how the media reports it. You get the sense if war broke out in the west, men would still be expected to fight whilst women would get a free pass. Feminist rhetoric would go from equality to 'men started the war so they have to fight'.

No problem with volunteering, just saying Ukrainian men who don't want to fight are being forced to stay. Anyway, are you fighting yourself? Just curious. Don't question my willingness to fight for my own values, I just respect the fact people should be able to decide on their own terms. Whether you're for or against the draft though, point is what applies to men should also apply to women. Vice versa.

I don't think people should be focred to sacrifice their very lives based on what a government says, it should be up to them to decide. In Ukraine anyway there is hardly a lack of civilians wiling to fight. Most of them are very much wiling to volunteer which I respect. To be honest though I don't really mind what people think in this regard as this is a topic of men's rights. In that instant, what applies to men should also apply to women.

Bit of a biased poll. Suggesting not drafting anyone will result in a nation falling is absurd.

If your country's government was a facist regime would you fight for it? Probably. You seem like a mindless drone. And no, simply having a dick doesn't mean you should be obliged to conform to certain standards. I am not obliged to conform to anything other than my own, individual respect and care for others. Not what some bs government expects of me.

'Their country'?. You should first and foremost respect people's sovereign decision to decide their own destiny as individuals. If they want to they can, but if men are forced to fight.... Well, they are hardly fighting for freedom are they?

I updated it to sexism rather than specifically gender roles to avoid confusion. I think where people put individual choices vs collective equality is an interesting debate though. I personally agree with you, but it's interesting how one would kind of expect the far left to be more on the lines of '100% gender neutral' rather than the current feminist dialogue of 'women good men bad'. Maybe it would be a little more bearable if in the mainstream people could have this discussion rather than "…

Well, I guess that's why a place like this exists. I do hope future generations of people will opt for a more egalitarian approach that doesn't villainize one gender. We can only hope.

I 100% agree with your point, I don’t think there is a problem with being masculine. The point I’m trying to make though is I don’t believe men ‘need’ to be stereotypically mascuiline and ‘need’ to be providers. I think a lot of debates regarding equality seem to be more on the lines of masculinity is either good or bad. Whether a person is more masculine or feminine shouldn’t matter. The thing that matters is our respect for each other as humans. Masculinity and femininity are both good but I…

It's ironic how this type of third wave, radical feminism is shooting itself in the foot. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence who believes in egalitarianism will see how sexism negatively affects both women AND men. This 'supporting men is sexist' attitude is only making people more aware of issues that affect men in society. It is up to people to stand up against this hypocrisy.

Question to Erin in regards to how feminism and politics has tried to target a specific demographic: During in the 1970’s, do you believe the reason why the feminist movement became more radical was due to the fact it was trying to target a specific demographic of 18-35 year old women?. I see this trend currently. While many are fully aware of issues that are effectecting men and boys in society, they are intentionally ignoring them. Most in politics I feel are reinforcing this narrative to appe…

It's a terrible shame that this is seen as acceptable. Reinforces the narrative 'men are the oppressors and women are the oppressed' rather than trying to deconstruct negative gender roles. Yet by critiquing this feminist idea then somehow I'm sexist. It’s this bigotry that needs to end.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
