The literal best thing you can do is not think about it and have fun. People like fun people. They don't like when people have an agenda or seem to be putting on a show to get noticed or be seen as cool. By far the most effective way to garner attention is to just be genuinely having a good time. Notice who you notice at parties. It's usually because of that.

Might be a weird suggestion, but you can take a page from improv. The whole point of improv is to clear your mind, focus abs listen entirely on the other person, and stop preloading responses. Might be a new way to unlearn some habits. It forces you to really slow down, listen, and stop predicting what people are going to say or do. I'm a fast thinker, and I also have hearing loss. These two combine in that every time someone is speaking, my brain shoots out these logic trees like a shotgun when…

There seems to be a lot of weird information on here mostly because I'm guessing a lot of people in this sub aren't married. I think for me it was a realization of a few things: 1) The initial attraction/infatuation stage is always going to be a rush. For me, this was the 10/10 feeling because everything is new and nove 2) Getting married, you are "giving up" on that same type of rush, or at least as consistently. You'll always find those moments, but they aren't quite the same. 3) I put giving …

I'm 5'6" and had this kind of mentality. A big issue is that you're blaming it on an external thing you can't change. That's a problem for a few reasons: 1) it's easy 2) it makes you angry because it's "beyond your control" 3) makes you not look at other areas of your life. Take a good hard look at yourself. If you cheated up 2 inches (get some taller shoes or inserts), do you really think you would have succeeded where you failed in the past? Suddenly you would unlock these super powers where y…

Dude there's a lot in here that is really not great long term. "Girls will do this. Interesting how they do that" is a really really bad indication. Girls are people. As much as people like to say otherwise, they're just humans. They aren't that different from guys. The way you write about them is like someone who is describing the ocean but has never simply gone there to enjoy it. You write like they are something to be discovered and or explored. That's not great buddy. They're just people. Yo…

I'm 29 years old and 5'6", 140lbs. I work in a business and I'm normally the shortest one in the department or in a meeting. It's never stopped me. I let my work talk for me and don't lean into feeling small because I'm physically small. I can lead meeting and I can hold a whole room if I need to. I don't want to brag a bunch here, but I've moved up already in the company and I'm primed for another promotion. My wife is slam dunk gorgeous and I love her a bunch. I normally wasn't too successful …

Listen to that guy. He hit the nail on the head. Don't get swept up by all the talk of moves and kino and lines. Those won't build you a great and lasting relationship unless you already have the stuff described above. Look at the movie Hitch. It's actually quite telling. It wasn't about what to say or do, it was more about being comfortable, honest, and confident. The best line is how he taught guys to "get out of their own way".

Remember, the first step at getting better than anything is sucking at it. And that's ok! The first time you went to the gym I'm sure you thought "How can people squat that much weight?" You didn't expect to do it perfectly the first time right? So you practice and you work up to it. Instead of basing every interaction on whether you for it perfectly, just build on each one for yourself. There's no magic way to not get nervous. Hell you might do it 10,000 times and still be nervous. The key is j…

Dude I'm barely 5'6" and have kind of a stumpy face. Never had any confidence and always wondered why I couldn't get a girl. I'm getting married in April to a wonderful, gorgeous woman. All that changed was my confidence. You know how they say you find a girl when you aren't looking? It's because you're generally more in the moment. Don't fantasize about what could be. Just be present, enjoy yourself, and take every opportunity to enjoy life. If you can do those 3, women will naturally come alon…

Speak with passion about the things you like. A lot of people shy away because they don't want to be judged for their hobbies. I'm a part time video game caster, and I don't shy away from talking about it. Sometimes people have questions, but if you speak confidently about it, you'll be fine. And if they really can't get over it, fuck them. The people I want to be around are the people who can listen to something they are unfamiliar with and be interested. Don't steamroll the conversation of cou…

I'm honestly trying to help :( For clarification, I never said he was awkward or weird. Most teenagers are, but obviously by definition some aren't. However, I really don't think anything here would help him out regardless if he has confidence or not... It's all geared for more mature dudes and women. 16 year-old girls are not going to respond the same way as a 25 year old woman. There's a massive maturity difference. I simply don't think this would be a good fit. I would focus far more on inter…

To be honest, you're a little too young to learn some things on here. I don't mean that in a degrading way, but a lot of things on here are for people who have fallen behind. I mean you're 16 and you're starting to figure out who you are. A bunch of the "lines" on here won't work. They're written for people who have experienced a little more life. The best possible things you can do is to learn to love yourself. Confidence is literally 90% of this whole thing. If you spend all your time trying t…

I disagree. This is a tricky subject, but calling seems intrusive in a lot of situations. If you catch them around other people, or if they are doing anything, it'll seem intrusive more than "direct". It's different which is good, but it's definitely a risk. For example if you catch them when they are with friends, the general response is going to be "weird... why is he calling me?" Then the other girls jump in. Read /u/theginger3469 's response. On the flip side, if you can do it right and make…

One disagreement I had... "Call attention to another person's mistakes indirectly." There's two ways that this can be taken, and I hope it's the second one. 1) If this means, "Tell someone about their mistakes in a one-on-one conversation indirectly" then read on. No. That is a bad idea. If you do it indirectly, there will be miscommunication because no one willingly will take blame for things (or at least most people). There's a definite way to be direct about calling out someone's fault withou…

it is a vacuum pretending to be intellectual. That's an awesome quote.

I think the article is a little hyperbolic to make a point. It's not about being all serious, just like it isn't about being all-ironic. She's simply calling out those who live their lives as a ironic series of events rather than actually living it to enjoy it. She's talking about an extreme, and the other extreme isn't any better.

Irony is NOT a sign of intelligence. Just because other people "don't get" your obscurity doesn't mean they're not as intelligent as you. Maybe they're just too busy with their lives to recognize and keep up with all the bullshit around them. That's like saying you're more intelligent than someone because you can name 10 different types of dinosaurs more than they can. I bet you feel real cool when you're "above" them, but you're just riding your ironic high horse. Irony is the most self-defensi…

I don't agree with Krypto that she's hiding something, but he's right. There's definitely times when kissing can totally kill the mood, but when done right sometimes things still don't work out. You can't get every girl. I'd say you had a low success rate going in, and the kiss just made you find out sooner rather than later. Probably still a good thing even though it didn't work out with her.

Yes. The idea of going after everyone has its drawbacks. I hope you don't get downvoted for your honest review. People need to remember the #1 thing about subreddits like this: NOTHING IS SACRED. Lesson #1 of the game is that there is no one thing you can do that is guaranteed to work. Sometimes you just will not be able to get the exact girl you want. Well, conversely, getting lots of girls CAN BE worse than truly having just one. It's all about what you want. OP has made his choice, and he sho…

If we really require credentials around here, why would anyone post? If you think it's bad advice go ahead and downvote :) That's what it's there for. But don't downvote just because the guy isn't an "expert". If everyone had to be an expert then no one would ever comment on anything...

From CostcoMuffins's post above: Myth #11: 'Introvert' and 'Extrovert' are two sides of a coin. No! They are two ends on a scale. A continuum, if you will. It's a little disingenuous for the author to claim that "25% of people are introverts." The world is not black and white; it is a false dichotomy to say that someone IS or ISN'T an introvert. Instead, some people are MORE or LESS introverted than others. My girlfriend and I are both pretty introverted. We just don't operate like most couples.…

It is particularly impossible if you haven't f-closed. Gotta disagree with you huge on that one buddy. That's quite a large statement. Remember: Not everyone here is even looking to get laid. Some are just trying to become better men and some are even just looking for LTRs.

My Seddit Quote: "Don't focus on find the right girl, focus on becoming the right man." If you go around trying to find and idolize the perfect girl, you'll never find her, and never attract anyone. Become a better man.

No. that's not the point at all. The point is there isn't a clear cut objective that can always be attained via the correct input. Sometimes you can't win. Even if you do everything right.

Not to be Johnny Raincloud, but I think it's really dumb that everyone here just passes it off saying he wasn't doing it right. By all the comments here, I've established this: 1) Use kino, if it works, you used kino. 2) Use kino, if it didn't work, you fucked it up. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. In some situations, kino just flat out will not work. Stop trying to defend these "ideals" that Seddit has just because it didn't work once. Every time I come on here and read FRs or anything els…
