That explains it... I was trying to figure out why it was so fluid but also so awkward at the same time, I don't know how else to describe how uncanny it was. I agree that the language is stupid in some ways. I wouldn't even mind in this case. However, a lot of other ways the language can be stupid make it really really useful, allow for all kinds of nuance and originality, incredibly flexible. If a message doesn't work one way, we can form completely different word-chains to get across the same idea. Redundancy can be an additional possible point of failure, but it can also be a safety net.
