Disagree. I think one-word comebacks like that sound petty. If I’m her in that situation I might literally think “damn, I wanted to share this experience with him and he dissed me.” as I have felt that way when a girl ”cool”’d me when I was trying to talk about something I was excited/not-excited about. Maybe she was telling you about it to say “gee I’m doing this yacht thing tomorrow but it’s not really my thing. I’m hoping you can invite me to a park or a play or something more my style.”

Put on a movie that you both think is gonna suck. Put it on so you can laugh at it. That way neither of you will feel like you’re missing out. Also, are you sure she’s reciprocating the desire for escalation? If you keep trying to escalate and it doesn’t ever work, it might just be that she’s not comfortable yet or interested in going further yet.
